The Inn provides good, comfortable accommodation in a lovely location. The breakfast was really good.
Breakfast is only served until 9.00am.This and the early departure time (before 10.00am) rather spoilt the very relaxed ambience created by the setting

Gutes, typisches, englisches Frühstück, schön am Flussufer gelegen, Parkplatz vor dem Haus.
Pub war zwar offen, Essen gab es aber nicht. Insgesamt etwas renovierungsbedürftig.

Quirky and quaint. Don’t let the roadside appearance put you off. It’s a lovely pub in a fantastic setting; slightly 1980’s decor in the rooms, but who doesn’t like retro! Clean, clean, clean!
Downstairs public rooms take a lot to beat them 👍🏼
Nothing significant!

Room was comfortable and lovely view over the River Dart.
The times for booking in 4.30pm and out 10am were unrealistic, you had to ring up to request an earlier slot for booking in which could not be guaranteed, however we managed to book in at 3.30pm. Only having a window of 8am to 9am for breakfast was also unrealistic, not enough time for everyone to enjoy their breakfast as only one person was serving who was working under stress - the cook also left dead on 9am on the first day. Poor choice of continental breakfast, no fruit or muesli and only 2 choices of cereal plus having to ask for yoghurt or croissant, not put out on table to help yourself. Toast did not arrive with the ordered breakfast and only one slice provided per person. Choice of fried egg only, not poached or scrambled. Also no chef so you could not have dinner there, even though the signs for The Abbey Inn stated they were a restaurant.

The excellent freshly cooked breakfasts were splendid. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we only used the B&B to sleep as we were attending a wedding elsewhere the accommodation was good clean and comfortable
No shelves around the washbasin for toothbrush etc. Shower although nice and hot needs better pressure.

The location was great as we had a day manned at the Steam Railway. The pub is situated alongside the river so the views were great.
The breakfast was great but I do feel they were having staff issues as on both days they had to call in cooking staff.
We were looking forward to eating at the pub in the evening as having stayed there before and enjoyed very good food but were disappointed to be told they were not able to provide food in the evening. There were a number of other people checking in that day and they all asked about evening food.
We paid for a room upgrade but what we got was nothing like what was expected. We stayed in the Mallard room which had a double bed and a small shower but this was more suited to a single person. If this was an upgrade I would hate to see the standard room. I should have taken photos.

Breakfast had plenty of alternatives to please everyone; self serve juices and cereals either a variety of cooked courses.
The unavoidable late arrival. Staying here for the first time in the dark and rain made seeing the car park entrance difficult. It will not be a problem next time, because there will be a next time.

Friendly and welcoming. Comfortable rooms and good service.
Was misinformed by a member of the staff on payment which was professionally addressed by another staff member.

Lovely spot by the river, walking distance to Buckfast Abbey, which was the purpose of our stop over.
Nothing.
Maybe a lick of paint on bedroom furniture? Shower mat, mirror near socket for drying hair and a packet of biscuits in room would have been nice.

Staff very friendly and helpful river view was delightful. Wine choice was good. Rooms were clean and plenty of hot water.
Steep slope to carry luggage down and then up again at end of stay, would not be any good if you have mobility issues.

Staff so helpful and cooked my breakfast as early as they could to facilitate my timetable for work.
Quiet room and lovely view over the river.
Breakfast was good, but started far too late. If checkout stayed as 7-10am, breakfast should start before 8!
Bed was far too soft and lumpy.
