A mountain paradise awaits your visit.

A gorgeous property with lovingly appointed furnishings. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and carefully prepared. Luis, the owner, was knowledgeable and engaging. We will certainly return.

Exceptional

A nice little oasis in a quiet corner of Posada de Valdeón. Very kind hospitality. The hosts prepared small dished and tasty snacks from the very best ingredients (some grown in the hotel's garden). Strongly recommended for a peaceful stay! There is a nice quiet walk on a paved path down the little river.

Eigon hotel is one of the finest hotels we’ve ever stayed in

location below mountains with lovely riverside garden. village is ideal for walking routes, and with 3-4 bars/cafe/ restaurants. Luis and his wife have built and now run excellent accommodation with fine food and drink and company.

Fabulous refuge for hikers

Amazing location and wonderful facilities at the property, including use of the garden, and a great selection of books and board games in the communal areas. The room was well presented and clean, and we had great views. Also a wonderful host and great breakfast available. The drive there was spectacular, and some fabulous mountain hiking to be done in the area!

Took us a couple of attempts to find the place the first time! (perhaps our failing, but beware of Satnav assumptions) The village is a small mountain village so limited eateries around - all the food we had was really lovely, but there were limited options.

Intimate, personalized, welcoming stay filled with adventure and relaxation.

Amazing accommodation with the most incredible hosts. They went above and beyond to make the experience of staying at Eigon exceptional. The gardens are incredible to stroll through and relax in after a long day of hiking in the mountains. We were lucky enough to eat fresh meals from local vendors including vegetables grown on the grounds and enjoy drinks from the hotel’s intimate bar. We were given great recommendations on where to hike and saw breathtaking views. The whole experience was unmatched. So intimate and personalized.

Lovely

The good was delicious! My girlfriend and I fell in love with the environment, it's so incredibly beautiful. The hotel is quiet and you feel like you are in your own living room with an excellent garden.

The rooms were a bit humid and warm, but that was because of the heat wave. The first few days weren't that hot and we didn't have any problems then. The air-conditioning could be better in those moments.

Beautifully stylish hotel with warm welcoming hosts at the start of the Cares Gorge

Beautifully clean and creatively decorated - this small hotel is like home from home! Luis and Fanie are warm and welcoming, eco conscious and offer amazing home made breakfasts and light suppers. Hotel Eigon was definitely a highlight during our recent trip to northern Spain.

Idyllic setting and a hidden gem of a hotel.

Locations fantastic for the Picos, and the views from our room was awe inspiring. The hotel itself is thoughtful, well laid out, great decor and great little attentions to detail, e.g. the tea station. The homemade breakfast was a highlight (especially the homemade plum and lavender jam, fresh tomatoes and freshly made smoothie). Hosts were delightful and very helpful. Overall it felt like a hidden gem and would definitely recommend. A great start to our adventures across Europe!

Absolute dream of a place!

Fantastic place to stay from which to explore the Picos national park. We stayed for two nights but wish we could have stayed a whole lot longer. The Eigón hotel is truly impeccable. The rooms are comfy, sparkling clean and the rooms and common spaces are beautifully designed. It being a smaller hotel also means it was amazingly quiet. We got to enjoy the beautiful garden with stunning views of the mountains in the late afternoon sunshine and absolutely loved the dinners Luis & Fanie conjured up with local ingredients and the lavish homemade breakfasts offered up in the morning. We definitely hope to be able to come back some day!

Home away from home

The communal areas are decorated beautifully and several separate sitting areas created. You can play games, read or interact with other guests. The informality makes you feel at home. Hosts were excellent and having the opportunity to have a bite in the evening is convenient (opportunity to expand maybe?). The garden is pleasant to sit in while enjoying wonderful views of the Picos de Europe and a good glass of wine. Breakfast was all home made and very tasty.

Beautiful new property - fantastic owners who looked after us perfectly. It is in a top location for the Picos outdoors This is our favourite hotel - yes that we have stayed in ever!
