Location was beautiful, peaceful and stunning.
The room was adequate with a good bath.
Breakfast was OK but the coffee was awful. too strong and tasted like instant coffee, not fresh
The fact that you were required to book your meal in advance and were given either no option or 10pm which is too late. The choice of food on the restaurant menu was quite limited although what I had was well cooked.

Wonderful location for a holiday. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent too. Highly recommended— value for money.
The bed was slightly too hard for my liking. I would prefer it if breakfast were available whenever one wanted it. You have to book a time.

The location is top - the hotel being surrounded by (some of) the Picos de Europa. We liked very much the concept and style of the parador, which gives you a real mountain experience. We were very much pleased with the good sound insulation of (at least) our room, which gave us a good restful sleep. We enjoyed both the breakfast and restaurant (lunch and dinner have the same menu). We appreciated the friendly and efficient service.
Nothing to mention.

The location is ideal if you want to hike in the area. Unfortunately, the cable car was not working because of maintenance. But the hotel is perfectly placed in Fuente Dé.
Two episodes were unpleasant.
When I arrived at the facility, I was asked about what time I would have enjoyed my breakfast. The only available slots were 9:30 and 10. I didn't know there was a need to book the breakfast (not a common procedure); otherwise, I would have done it at booking time. And if there was no slot available based on my plans, I could have booked a room without it. The lady at the front desk tried to speak with the manager about that, but the manager replied in Spanish (thinking I would not understand) that they were giving me two options, which would be enough. So no comprehension at all of the problem. I had to pick a picnic breakfast; otherwise, I would have lost my money. I think it would be easy to warn the guests and ensure they could arrange themselves accordingly.
The second unpleased episode happened during dinner. They tried to charge me twice for a single beer I got. The waiter first excused himself, saying that the check was having a single beer (the one I got!), but he did another to track the second one. And I had to argue with the waiter, convinced I got two beers even if the automatic check didn't show that.

The location of the hotel was spectacularly good due to the impact of the exposed rock in the cliff faces of the surrounding mountains. The hotel was quiet other than the background sound of the cattle bells. The hotel was spacious with lots of circulation space and lounge areas with views or the surrounding mountains and countryside. The bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable and with an indoor balcony with large opening windows. The staff were friendly and the food was good. We were touring the Pyrenees and Picos mountains by motorcycle and there was a specified MC parking area at ground level under a cantilevered area of the first floor.
There were no negatives about the property other than the cable car, which takes you from the hotel to the top of the surrounding mountains, was out of order due to technical problems. it is a 4 to 5 hour climb to the top from the hotel and a 3 hour return. we tried the climb but we’re caught in an electric storm and torrential rain and had to turn back at about half way up.

Amazing views and very close to the cable car which is must see.
The room was large and had a really nice enclosed balcony with a fantastic view.
Restaurant and bar staff were excellent and did an amazing job to serve so many people so quickly.
The food and breakfast was good but possibly a bit over priced as it's not quite as high quality as it could be.

- the rooms with the nice small glass balcony.
- the big free guarded parking.
- great location.
- personnel was nice and helpful.
- good breakfast.
- chrome cast TV
- a lot of lounges and sitting room for the guests.
- the personnel in the hotel and the restaurant spoke English, which helped us a lot.
- clean, but most certainly dated interior and facilities.
- we were on the first floor and by the staircase and we heard people speaking on the reception on the ground floor. So be wise, and remember about the acoustic choosing your room.

Lonely Planet describes the parador as an ugly building besides the cable car and doesn't even suggest staying there; but instead recommends hotels further down the valley.
Don't believe them. The look of the hotel may not be to everyone 's taste but I think it is appropriate to the setting (which is absolutely stunning at the base of the High Massif) and is definitely not ugly. Inside it is fitted out to the high standards common in all the Paradores I've stayed at. The bedrooms are comfortable and, I think, all come with an enclosed balcony which provide a nice sitting area with good views of the mountains.
The staff were friendly and took time to explain the walks in the area (there are two amazing ones from the top of the cable car; one ascending 500 metres and the other descending 1000 metres. Both taking about 4 hours and both quite demanding.)
The food was good, a great breakfast buffet and good choice for evening meals. Most people in the hotel seemed to do Half Board which is a good idea as otherwise its a drive to find a restaurant. There's also a very spacious lounge on the ground floor next to the reception.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and one I would definitely recommend if you're planning on visiting yhe Picos de Europa.
Everything was good.

All in great because everything you needed was on site, good food, bar, outside seating to take a cool beer after a high mountain walk. staff really friendly, and my Spanish in almost non existent.

The location is jaw-dropping. Plenty of parking. Right next to the cable car station.
Some way from the nearest town (Potes)so not really able to enjoy variety of bars and restaurants.

The scenery is magnificent in the immediate locality. It is very close to the cable car that brings you up to even more impressive views and walks
We should have booked for 2 nights!

stunning location
it’s a little dated - very hot bedrooms and poor ventilation (AC was unless). the bar staff were fabulous but the restaurant staff a bit poor.

Superb location at foot of mountains. We had a balcony overlooking the mountains and we only paid for a standard room. They did not say we had been upgraded so presume most rooms are lovely. Room very large with bath, shower, air con, comfy beds. Breakfast very good and nice selection of food. Very near the cable car to ascend the mountain. Staff friendly and spoke English.
Nothing we didn’t like. All perfect.
