So much potential but too many preventable mistakes

Location and Facilities are amazing.

No consideration given to SA test rugby as 'grandstand' channel was not provided for but 5 channels dedicated to football. Surprising as Southern Sun are a sponsor to S A Rugby Aircon in the room didn't work. Aircon didn't work, which created unnecessary phone calls to reception at 22h00pm and then needed to convince staff to allocate a different room which they did. Finally, not enough staff working at breakfast time, only 3 to assist, resulting in slow 'top ups' and empty buffet sections.

Room was clean,spacious.Well located and breakfast was standard.

We had to wait for 20-30mins upon check in as room staff was behind and room wasnt ready. Breakfast buffet was limited and the same everyday

Overall our stay was really good . The staff were all great. Special shout out to Aya he was fab !!

Location with beach view was great . Food good and staff welcoming .

Our bed wasn’t the most comfortable ( personal preference) and the duvet was in clumps ( some areas full with no duvet filling )

Pissed, really, being stuck at the hotel with your child stranded in the foreign town( we from kzn)and having the staff

Cleanliness, location

Parking policy, they don't register cars to booked room on check in, my car was blocked and they had no idea who the car belonged to/ which room number, was delayed for over 45 minutes. They really should look in to that.

Very satisfied with our stay at The Marine. Has been nicely revamped.

Breakfast was very good. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pillows and bed very nice. Good shower and quiet at night.

I won’t go back which is sad because other southern sun hotels are good. and all because of bad reception staff.

the rooms and bed were comfortable and clean.

the reception staff left a bad taste in our mind. firstly when I tried to get a room as a walk in I was informed they were full, then managed to get a booking on booking.com so went back inside to be met with scepticism but eventually got our room. On checkout despite paying by credit card and payment successful the receptionist took down the numbers and expiry date of our credit card claiming it to be company requirements. highly suspicious and in these fraudulent times was concerning. sent email to the hotel lodging our concerns and am still waiting for a response.

The best and I would go back there again.

We enjoyed the breakfast and also the staff was very friendly. The Hotel was close to everything that we needed, the beach, the mall, restaurants, etc.

Well, I cannot complain about anything really. I asked whenever I needed something and the staff provided it. So, everything was good for me.

Location was perfect for Ironman. The breakfast was great. Comfortable rooms

The reception staff was the worst I have ever encountered. Long wait for check in , check out and everything in between. They don’t greet or acknowledge your presence. No information regarding wifi codes etc in rooms or on check in. When we checked in after 2pm, they were still cleaning on our floor with trollies and rubbish blocking the passages while we struggle to get past with luggage. Old food trays left outside doors for hours.

poor customer etiquette from the manager on duty

With the exception of Nwabisa (who rescued the situation by initiating the card transaction anew), my family and were treated like filth by the staff in front of other patrons.the manager was dismissive and pushed us to the side stating ever so confidently that we hadn’t paid when in actual fact they didn’t charge the card.this after I had also sent a mail two weeks before our stay asking when they would charge the card.Disgustingly poor etiquette from the manager on duty.

Generally lovely, nice location just walking distance to beach front

Very friendly staff from reception, accounts office, cleaners and at the restaurant .

Did not like the swimming pool too small, and no place for parents to sit and relax as the kids play in water. We literally sat on floor. The roof top could be made friendlier by atleast having couches to sit and have the restaurant serve family there when they are watching kids swim
