Very nice place to stay.
The “small” surcharge for the pool for residents is a bit of an oversight from the hotel management. Surely this could be absorbed into the cost of the stay?

Car park and the staff
Bit out of town
3.5 / 5.0
It was comfortable and clean. We only stayed one night as it was convenient for returning our rental car to Edinburgh airport
The room is a little small.
It advertised having a pool for guests but then added a $15 charge to use it.

Staff were very friendly and professional
Room was dated with very few amenities and old bathrooms

Nice property, large comfortable room. Reasonable breakfast. Didn’t like having to prebook a specific time.
Didn’t like having to prebook a time slot for breakfast nor pay 7.50 each to use the pool

Great beer garden ,comfy beds,
Plenty of choice at buffet breakfast plus made to order omelette etc
A bit unfair that there's an extra charge to use pool and leisure facilities
Any hotel I've stayed in residents get full use

Everything was great- breakfast, parking, wifi, beds, pillows, staff apart from one thing.
Our room was very hot when we arrived and their was no aircon controller to adjust it to our comfort levels in the room, nor a fan to circulate the air. We opened the windows, but they had a restrictor on them so they could only be opened a small amount, not enough to cool the room sufficiently. The hallway outside was even hotter.
In the morning we had no hot water. We notified the hotel, and they checked it out- a problem with the boiler, reset it, but as we were short on time, only had a warmish shower as we didn't have time to wait for it to heat up.

The location, set in a lovely mature garden.
We were allocated a ground floor room (103). It was musty with scratched and worn furniture, and NO usb ports.

All meals were very good. Room was a good size and clean. Liked the size of the bed but the pillows were a bit soft for my taste.

I absolutely love this hotel, infact I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a hidden gem( hidden it may be but it's a busy hotel it's actually a joy to see how busy). The staff are immense and the food is to absolutely die for.
My room, the worst sleep I have ever had in this hotel or any hotel for that matter, however, again the staff didn't disappoint and have sought to rectify that for me. Was offered a free upgrade for my 2nd night which was booked direct with the hotel.

I like this hotel for the quiet surroundings and leisure
the property has everything you need for a comfortable stay , but attention to detail needs to been overseen as we had a stained pillow in our room

We could find no fault

Comfy bed
Breakfast and dinner disapointing and very expensive the noise with the door bangjng outside our room with other guests going up and down stairs the leisure facility having to get in and out the jacuzzi every 5mins the lack of taxi companies when busy on a weekend didn't get much sleep noisy people upstairs walking with the creeky floor boards the room we had the pine walls had stains on and not been wiped burn in carpet down pipe constantly dripping outside bathroom window. The different contrasts of furniture old fashioned in the bedroom area compared to the bathroom which is very modern.
