Everything was fine only the breakfast let them down they had a large coach party in and we picked the same time as them to eat
Just breakfast
4.1
Friendly & helpful staff, lovely food and relaxing
4.1
Plenty to chose from and you could take your time the location was good
There was nothing we didn't like and the idea of filling up with cold water and milk any time was a brilliant idea
4.1
lovely decor obviously recently refurbished.
The room was small and the bed seemed very small . for the price we paid I would have expected more room and a bigger bed. there was only a very small
mirror close to the hairdryer but a massive one and a small one in the bathroom.
4.1
location and beer garden
the charge for the spa was extortionate, the food was different, well cooked but portions on small side for the cost
4.1
Choice of pillows and staff were execellent
Room was small, only one wooden chair which was not comfortable, someone had to sit on bed with no back support. Room had missing paint on door, needed decorating and temperature was not controllable
4.1
Internal facilities/decor - Completely different from comment below. A welcoming lobby and very attractive bar and restaurant area.
Staff and level of service were outstanding - both front desk and in the restaurant. We had breakfast and the waitress was superb, even lending me her reading glasses to view the menu. Breakfast was locally sourced, tasty and substantial
External decor and feel - Poor from the outside. Looked like a cheap motel. Site road markings also confusing (suggested a one way traffic flow, but that wasn't the case).
4.1
Breakfast and dinner - the food was excellent.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The spa area was wonderful, very relaxing and the Soul Soother massage was amazing. Mine was done by Amelia, highly recommended.
Finding the way in and reception! We requested a twin room on booking, but had to wait while the double bed was converted to twin beds. It's not that we 'didn't like' it, just that it wasn't ready the way we asked for.
There was stuff left in the room by previous occupiers that hadn't been removed.
Didn't like that milk was one end of the corridor and water was at the other, especially after our 26 mile hike the previous day.
The lounge breakfast option was not available until after the main breakfasts had been served, we didn't really want a full breakfast, though it was delicious.

Lovely property, nice rooms, comfortable beds.
We booked myself partner and 2 young children and called prior to ask what time the pool closed they said 9:30pm which was perfect for us to get there after school and go swimming. Upon arrival it was 5pm lady checked us in I again confirmed about the pool and she said it closes at 9:30pm. We went down to the pool at 6:15pm to be told that it closes at 6:30pm for children. We were never informed of this. Spoke to the manager who was extremely rude said he wouldn’t give us a refund and offered to set up a dvd player in the room for the kids instead because they were crying??? It’s 2024 obviously the children have tablets and we didn’t drive 2.5hrs for them to sit in a room all night watching DVD’s. We wanted to go and stay somewhere else but due to not being able to get a refund we were forced to stay. We went out most of the evening and upon return to the hotel the manager passed us. Didn’t say a single word. Didn’t thank us for remaining at the property. Nothing. It’s a shame because the facilities are nice but we won’t be coming again for that reason. It wasn’t family friendly at all. I wouldn’t advise taking children there. When we did get in the pool during the morning we were told after 1hr the kids needed to get out as people thought they were “too loud”

Location
Very small room and very HOT
4.1
How we where treated by some of the staff, how our room was when we first arrived, having my property damaged during our stay. Attempting to charge me for something I did not purchase and multiple other issues
4.1
The overall decor was modern, clean and an upmarket style
The family room was too small for a family of 4 with a 13 and 11 year old. It was too warm with not enough ventilation.
4.1
Beautiful room, restaurant, spa, gardens.

Lovely place
Very expensive… breakfast for 4 …£80
4.1
everything is falling apart
the daily saga with the key card not working
rooms are too small with no sound proofing
over priced for what it is
and staff don’t care
4.1
Great breakfast menu. Very friendly staff. Real community feel to gym. Nice light gym with plenty
Of equipment
The hotel is lovely and clean and modern although the rooms are quite small and basic. I wouldn’t really class it as a spa hotel. It’s more of a hotel with swimming pool and wouldn’t really be suitable as a spa break

The fire pit created a lovely atmosphere for sitting outsise .. The food was very tasty. The friendly accommodating staff were very professional. . The pool was just right . The coffee was to my liking. The decor in the dining area was very smart .
There was an empty deodorant can in my room and no robe. My friend's robe looked grey and had no belt.
4.1
Enjoyed our stay, it was clean, comfortable and staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool and restaurant were great, would definitely come back again.

Comfy Beds
That we had to pay to use the pool as we didn't book direct with the property. Can't see why it makes a difference. We were only there for 1 night so didn't bother paying but would have been good to have a swim!
There was no air conditioning in the room so had to open the window. For a family room, there wasn't a lot of space for luggage
4.1
friendly staff and ease of location
nothing

Super choice at breakfast and restaurant. Costs are reasonable and staff in all areas are extremely friendly and helpful. Parking and access is easy . Location is ideal as a lake district base.

We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant and thought the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was lovely, we especially loved the breakfast! The bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The swimming pool was nice!
There was no phone in the room, we had to order roomservice by calling reception and the reception staff weren't very helpful. The fact we had no phone wasnt a massive issue we didn't need to have a phone, however when we explained we had no phone (and to call reception about 3 times because we were getting cut off when being transfered) the receptionist could have had better customer service by either apologising for the incovience or ask if we wanted a phone. Either way, it's not massive problem. They could just do with better training.
It would be great if the hotel didn't charge an extra £10.00 per person to use the swimming facilities.
4.1
Room and breakfast - staff great in the morning service
Evening meal - no alacarte, very slow service. Spa pool freezing and roped off for kids swimming lessons!!. Also asked to pay and extra £10 per person for the spa facilities. Reception closed at approx 7pm?
Very very expensive meal and beyond belief having to pay £15 per glass of wine, also being asked to pay £5/6 per person for bread roles at the evening meal - we declined
4.1
Clean room
Think the way the spa is set out should be displayed on the website/booking.comp as doesn’t explain sauna’s are in the changing rooms so me and my partner couldn’t go in together was very diss heartening

i have visited numerous times for Spa break with girl friends. my husband joined me , on my recommendation, for a weekend break. we both really enjoyed
No lift, fortunately we were on the second floor near to the stairs. The receptionist did offer to transport our luggage, but there were people waiting to check in and he along with a trainee (who was very pleasant) were the only staff on the desk

Not located very well, drinks and food abit overpriced, beer was unacceptable flat on each pint they did, didn't have the wine I ordered but still tried to charge me for the most expensive. Would return if it wasn't so expensive
Our room smelt like a dog had been in there too
