Hotel is very reminiscent of a 1980’s style hotel and has retained that charm that makes you feel you have gone back in

Unpleasant, disappointing and uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly

The hotel is very old and needs revamping. The lift was so old and awful. I got stuck in the lift and rang for ages and no one helped me. The toilet didn’t flush. There was no towels. The bed was so uncomfortable. The room was tiny and smelt horrible. There is no air-con and the tan is as broken.

Could do with more choice on evening meals don’t like À la carte menu

Was clean and all staff where very friendly and helpful if you needed them for something , Breakfast was very good but didn’t have evening meals there went out to get something else

There was no plug sockets near the bed so had to plug phone chargers in other parts of the room could also do with a little mini fridge in the rooms for your own cold drinks

I was meeting a group 8-10 August so this booking was an add on, I would not stay here again

Friendly staff, good food, EV charging points on car park

Lift tiny old fashioned and difficult to use, especially for someone with a disability Ensuite bathroom difficult to access - appeared to have new sanitary ware but wasted Small single bed Insufficient electrical sockets - had to request an extension which was reluctantly provided Poor ventilation - good job weather not too hot during stay as no air con/fan in evidence Building site opposite

Bar staff were decent.

Evening bar menu, food quality was not great, though the portion size was large. Light from outside shone through into room, even though there was a blind and curtains up. Breakfast was okay. Hotel decor looks tired.

Ideal base for a weekend in Torquay, on the sea front and just a short stroll into town

Ideal for a 2 night stay, location is beach front, staff are incredibly helpful and courteous, and the bar meals perfectly adequate for our needs. As the hotel remains Art Deco in style with many mirrors and stylish interior it feels like you are entering a Stanley Kubrick movie!

Double room was small, not really room enough for a couple. Otherwise the hotel exceeded our expectations

Disappointing

The location is beautiful Bar staff were nice

-Paid for terrace room and not allowed to use the terrace. Extra £60 -tried to down grade the room due to dog nothing says that we can't stay in certain rooms with a pet. -room was noisy thin walls -shower wouldn't aim into the bath to have a shower water went on the floor got my clothes wet -Bath was blocked water wouldn't drain away -plates were dirty at breakfast -room is run down

Budget accommodation

Location was really good near to most things. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

Very very very dated hotel really needs to be updated. Lock / handle on the room was wobbly and not easy to unlock. Windows didnt shut properly so I was cold at night.

it’s in need of upgrading , the roof was leaking and the double bed was very small

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel staff were brilliant, very helpful. The only 1 thing that was poor, the drinks at the bar were very expensive but that was the only issue

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and good food

I live a couple of miles away but I was staying for a party and was very reasonably priced. The staff were very professional. The price of my room include breakfast and there was continental and a full English and other food available on request such as porridge and poached eggs Excellent facilities.

I did write on my feedback form the the mattress was uncomfortable I could feel the springs . But the room was ok and it met my needs.
