The garden area was stunning and having breakfast there every morning was quite heavenly. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The only fault was that we arrived with2 full cases as we were in France for 2 weeks and there wasn’t a lot of cupboard space but the hotel and the staff were so lovely that it made up for it.

We were in the annexe/bungalow after being offered an upgrade which was lovely. The staff was warm, parking was convenient and on-site. A short walk to the centre of the city and a super short cab ride back in the evenings. Breakfast was delightful and drinks under the canopies in the garden even more so. Highly recommend.

The garden is fantastic! very beautiful
Actually, I stayed there for 6 nights. Due to separate orders, I have to change my room. So, I stayed in 2 types of room. (Room No.42 is superior double room & Room No.36 is Deluxe Double Room)
The day before checkout, I just drove back from Marseilles. Suddenly I found my key card cannot work in my room anymore. Went up and down, I went to reception to change the key card twice. still doesn't work... Then the girl E*e she doubt me if I had bad memory?! She said the records show I stayed in room 44. Did I open wrong room!? Omg...I never stayed in room #44! And the funniest thing is. Just 2 days ago, she introduced and brought me to this room that I can't enter smoothly now and she forgot everything! Luckuly , a young (Josef or Youssef? Sorry I don't know French name) He remamber he removed my baggage to room #36. Everything work out at that moment. Wow, I think it's not good to make guest feel being doubt and challenged...Also seems like get losted in "Alice in wanderland"haha.
There is another story but the same girl, E*e.
She told me the taxi for my departure which the overnight shift colleague arranged is on 11:00.( my request is 6 am May 27, or I'll miss my train&flight) To the end, It turn out the overnight shift colleague never goes wrong. He remembered my request and gave me a morning call at 5:50 . I just don't know why Miss E*e makes me so scared... haha
Trust me, those 5 stars hotels or luxury villas I ever stayed never bring those frightened feelings to me like this.

The hotel is close to center of town (10-15 min walk) but far enough from the hustle and bustle. the grounds are idyllic. the rooms were very clean and well appointed. the linens and bedding was excellent— as were the toiletries. Our room had a view of the gardens and the pool. the restaurant was excellent— all be it a bit pricey— but worth it. Breakfasts were outdoors because of the outstanding weather. the food and choices were excellent and any special desires were met by a very engaged and professional staff. the pool was extremely comfortable with comfortable lounge chairs. it was easy to order a chilled bottle of wine (Roses were of course fabulous). there was also a garden bar for a pre or after dinner drink. parking was free and literally outside the front door. we traveled to a winery (Chateau La Coste), a lavender field (too early for all the beautiful buds but great relaxing site). the name was Terre Ugo— family owned and operated, and a few neighboring cities. all these were within 30-60 minutes and again the hotels location made getting on and off the highway simple. we did journey to Marseille one day— here we took the train from the center of town, walked the city and dined at the port. lovely!
bottom line: a wonderful, relaxing, delicious and restful experience. cannot say enough about it and we will return!!
leaving!!

the staff was exceptional; gardens glorious, amenities in room were terrific.did I mention the staff? best ever—so helpful with translations etc.
the location was NOT in the middle of Aix—took planning and walking to get places.(No Uber and taxis outrageously overpriced)

beautiful gardens
terrible value for money for this hotel. This is at best a 3 star hotel. Our room had chips out of the paint work and dirty walls. horrifically cheap bathroom fittings with very poor shower pressure. our room should be half the amount we paid for the dated state of the hotel. The restaurant was so brightly lit it was clinical and lacked any atmosphere. We were kindly shown to a table with the comment ‘facing the beautiful garden’ which was appreciated, but pointless as the room is so bright you couldn’t see any garden as it was a black hole looking out from such a brightly lit room. Please , change the cold white light bulbs to warm white and invest in a dimmer. then it might be less like dining in a 1970’s operating room. The food was bland and dated. My entree was so cold it had no flavour and my husbands main which included mash was lumpy, despite being advertised as the chefs speciality. Upon check in the receptionist who showed us to our room let us struggle with bags and a dog up 3 flights of stairs, not offering to help whatsoever - even taking us on a tour to see the restaurant when we were clearly struggling. Completely tone death. and then after found we could have used a lift ! all in all we felt the price point was way too high for a hotel that has seen better days, and needs to up its game in all areas before we would ever return.

the gardens were lovely and they were why we chose le Pigonnet. i was shocked to see how unkept the gardens were though. they looked like they were dying.

clean
For the money we payed we received tiny rooms, especially the single was a very strange size for the money we payed and the fact that this is supposed to be a five star hotel. Very strange and unprofessional lady at the check in, a few bizarre situations in the restaurant and breakfast with staff. This is for sure not a five star hotel. Pretty garden, old building, a bit stuffy, humidity.

Our third visit to Pigonnet (our Hotel of Choice in Aix!) As ever, beautiful garden, beautiful room, and without exception, your staff are so welcoming, attentive and kind. The bed for our dog was better than hers at home! We dined at the restaurant each night, and it was always wonderful (especially the mirabelle soufflé!) - you really have an outstanding chef, and all of the waiting staff were exceptiional. A beautiful selection for breakfast too. Another very relaxing and very happy stay with you - looking forward to the next time!
The only thing I could remark on, was that one of the basins in the bathroom (room 42) had some big cracks in the bottom of it - it just looked as though it should be replaced.
