The staff are wonderful and a credit to you. They are kind, considerate and helpful.
The location is terrible. The car park is outside the front windows and the motorbikes and parties at 12.00 & 2.00 & 4.00 !,,,,, are terrible. The police need to be involved in the motorbike trials outside your hotel!!!!

This Mercure Hotel is well located by the river and fortifications which makes it easy to find. It is clean and comfortable, but it is the staff that really make this hotel; they are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
There was no a/c in the warm rooms, on a hot July night, just a fan. But the windows opened wide so all was good!

The location was great, right beside pubs, restaurants and shops.
Maud, the Receptionist, had very good English, which was great for us as our French is very limited.
She was friendly, approachable and very accommodating. Thank you, Maud.

Ideally located within the heat of the town just ver the river.
Noise on the road outside, meant we couldn’t leave our window open at night for fresh air. But the hotel had provided a fan to overcome this.

Nothing.
Unremittingly awful. Ground floor car parking and a second floor entrance and reception that seemingly could only be reached by climbing two flights of external stone steps. With luggage, limited mobility and in my eightieth year, it was not the start that I expected.
Allocated a room that could not be reached by using the adjacent lift specified by staff. We tried and failed, and were then led half way down the the building to another lift that meant a double-back along a whitewashed utilitarian corridor to our room, 111. It had no fridge, no aircon, no fan, no washbasin in loo and no wi-fi but by this time we were exhausted and slumped down in relief. Gradually the room's shortcomings became evident, and having paid 127 euros in advance we made our observations clear on check-out. Our two euro city tax was waived as a gesture of goodwill.
In sum, a total, complete and utter waste of money.

Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Good location and comfortable bed.
some of the TVs are not set up for Chromecast etc

Loved the location, lots of great food spots across the way or a short walk.
Could use some more cups for coffee in room, more than the disposable cups.

The breakfast buffet was correct. There wasn't an extensive amount of choice but the products were fresh and from good quality. There is enough parking space for free and in front of the hotel.
The hotel is clean and well maintained however, the rooms are old and could use a renovation. There is no airconditioning in the rooms which could be uncomfortable during summer.

it’s central
The dirty bathroom. it’s tired and needs renewing.

clean and friendly service. Liked the attached restaurant

Well located and clean hotel. secure cycle garage was provided.
Poor communication ahead of stay. As I didn’t speak French I wanted to contact the hotel in writing with queries ahead of my stay. I used Booking.com message facility, email to the hotel, email to Mercure customer services, Twitter and even emailed one of their board members (one responsible for customer experience) and was totally ignored through all these contact forms

bedroom good but rest needs tlc especially exterior and approach
as above

size of room and bathroom
no air conditioning, the rooms were very hot, very uncomfortable couldn’t sleep.

Good location and clean.
Lack of ventilation and minimal staffing. The usual cheap buffet breakfast.
3.6
no air conditioning for a 4 star hotel
little service during breakfast
bar terrace right in front of our window

The location as the hotel as town very close.
The external appearance was not attractive, steps etc. Check in was very slow due to technical problems at the hotel.
Returned from lunch, to find 2 workmen present in our bedroom carrying out upgrading work. The junior staff were very unhelpful in resolving the room situation. We were offered substandard alternative room. No proper apology received for this intrusion or for leaving our personal valuables and belongings exposed.

Convenient for Cherbourg Ferry and pets

reception staff were very good. hotel was clean.
Restaurant requires booking in advance even for residents, breakfast a disaster as not enough tables available while a bar area is underutilized and could have eased to backlog.

This hotel is very well located just outside the historic walled city of Saint Lo and close to the railway station and the cyclepaths. The room was exactly what you would expect from a Mercure - clean, comfortable and well equipped. We chose to dine out but the menu for the hotel restaurant did look interesting. Our bikes were stored in a meeting room on the lower floor. Although close to the railway we were not disturbed by noise from the trains.
Everything was fine. Perhaps unfortunate that in the morning when we came to leave there was a meeting running in the room that our bikes were stored in - some rather perplexed people as we crept in to reclaim them!

Well placed in the town, being close to everything. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, as was the bed. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. we would stay again, and would recommend it.
Nothing.

hotel still rather under the lull of Covid so not too y or lively...bar rather dull and not at all comfy with hard red leather seats. Evening meal fine but n.b. no evening meals available at weekends.
3.6
Good location
Door was left open by housekeeping staff
3.6
Location was excellent, right by the river looking towards the old walled part of the city. Good choice of bars and restaurants close-by, plus free parking at the front and rear
Nothing in particular
3.6
Good location
Front facade is a bit dated and does not reflect quality of bedrooms
