Location to reach the city centre.
Cleanliness. We did not have access to the lounge area (which is all of the guest facilities in the hotel) due to a private function. On the website this is the main attraction, so if it is being used a client should be advised before booking. Also, when we had breakfast, the cleaners were still cleaning up from the private function the night before.

Beautiful old building, close to the centre of town and easy walk to several bodegas. The most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for years. Powerful shower and well stocked bathroom with toiletries.
The bar was a bit soul-less and lacking in atmosphere, which resulted in it always being empty.

Magnificent building, the lobby was really beautiful. lovely spacious clean rooms.
Haro as a town doesn’t have many food options in the evening, most people come for the bodegas that are only open in the day. So to find out the in house restaurant was closed (for our entire stay) was really disappointing. Not only that, no snacks/food were served at all, which doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel in terms of facilities. If we had known that in advance we wouldn’t have stayed in this hotel, as we really struggled to find anywhere decent in Haro (and therefore ate terribly).

This hotel is an old convent and therefore has huge character. We were in an inside room, which overlooked the courtyard and therefore felt claustrophobic. There was one small window and therefore the room was dark. Having said that, the bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The room was perfectly clean.
Ask for a room that faces outwards.
The room facing the courtyard. We had dinner one night which was average. Parking was on the street.

location, breakfast, comfortable bed
washroom was smelling. from the moment we walked in we were faced with an uncomfortable smell from the washroom. Did not help that we kept the windows open for hours.

Good location and a truly historical building. Breakfast was good
Booked a double room based on photos on Booking.com. Actual room was not even close! Was told photos for double room were actually a suite (false representation!). After some discussion, we did get a room overlooking the inner courtyard. A/c was required, but noisy. Sounds of showers and toilet flushing from neighbours not acceptable

the building and interior where spectacular.

The photo on the internet.
Crazy parking scenario that was NOT welcoming. Then the result that we did not see toilet did NOT WORK on night one and I had to use bucket! The Air-conditioning malfunctioned for the 2 nights....so we did NOT SLEEP! On the afternoon of day 2...tge central area was restructured for a wedding on the Saturday afternoon...thus the whole ambiance of the hotel was destroyed. The residents were of secondary concern. The whole place had a jaded feel....as did the staff (pleasant enough though they were). We were ripped off and will never return. The management need to visit other nh hotels in Spain to see how its done. No stars!

Nearly everything is super nice! Amazing atmosphere, attentive staff, great breakfast and our "XXL Queen bed" (220-240cm wide?....:) ) Very romantic both in the bar lounge and in the bedroom, difficult to choose where to sleep :)
The inner circle room had windows exiting to the lounge space, meaning you'd hear what's happening down there if you open your window. All in all, not noisy and "whispering noise" but it was there. Probably it is better in the outer circle rooms.
The swimming pool would make this hotel really exclusive!
