Overall hotel very good and the Spa was excellent. Staff friendly. Large room, spotlessly clean bathroom. Location was excellent
Breakfast was disappointing, non of the cooked items were hot. The scrammed egg was very sloppy, sausage looked undercooked and the bacon was very greasy. We were really looking forwarded to a cooked breakfast after an hour in the spa so a big let down
4.1
Facilities and cleanliness
Very noisy the walls in the bedrooms seemed very thin, kept up all night by noisy guests. I could hear everything from conversations that were going on until early hours to taps running.
4.1
Great location & friendly staff
Breakfast was average, rushed and lacking staff to service guests
4.1
Reception staff were totally lovely and helpful, the location nice and some of the common rooms were spacious and relaxing
Restaurant staff completely different; waited for ages for someone to appear to find me a table, bar man incredibly rude. Food service slow and meandering not paying attention to the entire room, just a few individual tables. Service management needs some serious attention. Saving grace that the actual food was better than I expected.

The location is great the general hotel is great with the spa is also great
Staff were friendly and everywhere was spotless
The room I paid over £300 for 2 nights for a king room and I was a little disappointed I had read all about how clean the rooms are and there was no dust but room was dated with marks on the wall and other things paintwork damaged on woodwork and considering there was no dust they missed a strad of hair hanging from lampshade maybe I am just being picky but expected more

Beautifully decorated throughout, quite quirky in areas. Lovely restaurant and outdoor space. Spa is really lovely too.
The electrics went off in the room - a mains had switched. It came back on later and one side of the room we found still to be working but was in a rush to get ready for work in the morning so a bit of an inconvenience.
We weren’t told either that the Rainforest showers in the spa weren’t working before we arrived.

We asked for an early check in and were able to get this which was useful. Check in was very quick
The car park was full and the EV charging spaces were taken up by non EV cars. As I have an EV it needed a charge as only had about 5 miles left on it. When asked at reception what they could do, the most they could come up with was to check later. When I did check later about 6 hours later, no change. Asked again at reception and they said they would look and if it was cars that were registered at staying at the hotel, they might be able to do something. Ultimately nothing happened, so despite staying overnight at a hotel with 4 charging spaces, the next day I had to quickly find one in Bedford and hang around for 2 hours to get some charge in the car. Maybe if they didn't facilitate public parking and clearly highlighted those spaces were for EV only, it might not have happened. Also the breakfast on the Sunday morning was a disaster. No tables made up. No plates available, no mugs, no coffee. Apparently they were very busy and short of staff.

Nothing just say it was alright

The breakfast was good, nice restaurant with river views . Very noisy on arrival on the Saturday, a very busy place.
My room was not ready on arrival at 3pm on the Saturday, had to wait an hour. No apology, not even a coffee offered while i had to wait! Just poor customer service.

Location, decor, staff, spar
We went to the bar Sunday evening for a quiet cocktail. The bar staff were polite but it felt like we were an intrusion.
4.1
On arrival the room appeared ok but very small for the very high price.
The hotel is overpriced. We were booked into a room directly opposite a party suite and the volume was so loud we chose to leave losing half our money rather than stay. We emailed the hotel to discuss the issue with the manager but have not received the courtesy of a response. Given that the primary purpose of a hotel is to sleep this hotel fails.

The downstairs bar was pretty cool, but the toilets were about half a mile treck I was considering an Uber
The thermal spa is an extra twenty quid, for the amount I paid for a junior suite for a night it should be included

Very clean, nice room and bathroom. The bed also very comfortable
No possibility to use hairdryer and charger. Usually when I go to hotels in Britain they have the converters available
4.1
Location was good and the bar and restaurant were nicely decorated
The room was really tired looking and very expensive for what it was. I had stayed in Jan (floor 3) and it was really beautifully decorated and kept so booked again for my anniversary (and upgraded room) but it was nowhere near as nice and definitely not worth extra money. We also went to dinner there and the steak was inedible. It was so fatty I could barely cut through it and the macaroni cheese tasted like hot milk and nothing else

The location was great the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant has a good menu.
The decor is lovely.
The only complaint and it's not a bad thing was the room was so warm and you couldn't open a window and there was no thermostat.

check in was fast. room was nice location is very good.
TV service/ channels selection is horrible. WIFI is sketchy in certain rooms. had to do a business trip with no WIFI.
4.1
Room, Hotel generally
Paying for parking.
Breakfasts- constant items running out and not replenished., Coffee and Tea selection very poor. Would expect Latte/etc as standard. No specialist tea availalble (earl grey/ mint etc). Fruit salad very poor. Generally choices limited.

I’ve always stayed at the swan when visiting friends and family and have always found it exceptional
this is my first time being put in a room on floor 1 … and will not be staying on that floor ever again in future - the noise levels were insane doors slamming and people running up corridors etc up to 4am and then woken at 7am by cleaners in room above and in corridor - and a 10am knock on door for housekeeping and I had not checked out !! I will be insisting a floor 3 stay in future

Good location. Staff were really helpful and polite. Good breakfast.
Comfortable room.
Wish we had a view overlooking the river and not the car park but room was quiet.

felt a bit disjointed. the spa, restaurant and hotel are all one but didn’t feel that way. for example you can’t leave the spa in your robe to go back to your room?
