I didn’t like that I had to check the rooms were two double beds as I asked for was not what was given. As they changed it to two rooms with 1 double bed in both. When I had booked online and it was 2 rooms with 2 double beds in each bedroom. However, I like that it was resolved, the staff were friendly and were able to quickly get the booked rooms arranged. It was easy to get to from the long 3 hours drive I made down there.
The breakfast was very nice but not a massive selection, and took a little while for more food to come out so I do not feel I was able to have my moneys worth. But was yummy.
The air con remote battery cover was not there. The bed easily wheeled away.
There was no individual button to turn off the large standing lamp by the bed so when one light was on all the lights were on.
Unfortunately when I was seated I had to ask for the table to be cleaned no one tried to clean it for us before we sat and it was covered in sauces etc.

Room good and quiet, comfortable bed and pillows, well-cleaned each day.
Almost impossible to figure out how tv worked. Worst tv system ever! We could only get one channel, thanks to help from Maria. We’re very familiar with hotel tv and NEVER had this experience before.
The coffee maker didn’t work either. So had to rely on the instant coffee. Manager needs to clean up the hundreds of cigarette butts outside all around bench areas, pretty horrid. And please throw out those dead shrivelled, plants at the entrance.

There is a simple layout to the building and the grounds around the site was lovely.
All rooms have irons and iron boards which we found specifically useful as we went for a wedding and had clothes to iron on both days
The window to our room and some other guests that we were with were screwed shut. When we asked about this we were first told that this was because of health the safety but then on noticing other rooms on the same floor with open windows we asked again and we were told that the windows were broken and they had been too expensive to repair.
The room also didn’t have a mini fridge which we found frustrating as this doesn’t happen in many hotels so we brought cold drinks and snacks with us that we couldn’t refrigerate.

Not a lot….wont return.
Staff were really trying hard in tough circumstances.
Room not ready (Platinum IHG member). Never got IHG points added to the account…

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

Location great and room presented well from cleanliness
Wi-Fi was very good and the tv was massive and top spec
Staff very absent. Wasn’t warmly greeted and lots of chat secretly whilst checking me in making me concerned there was a problem. The fact there was visible packet of amber leaf tobacco on show made me feel I was at a low end check in experience.
No staff at breakfast not offered drinks or introduced to the options.
Checked out no one on desk and felt very impersonal

Not a lot.
TV signal was rubbish. Wi-Fi signal was rubbish.

The room was one of the best that we have stayed, which is bigger than we expected. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is operated up to the Holiday Inn standard. It seems this brand does not fail its guests with such price/room. It will certainly be our first choice when we book hotels to stay elsewhere.
The hair dryer did not provide hot air. It seems most of the hotels don't do regular checking of the provisions until the guests complains. Hope this group's management teams will review how to improve the inspection and maintenance program.

1. They don’t remind you that you need to enter your car license plate number to a tablet;
2 then you receive a parking ticket from their outsourced parking management company
3 you call them and nobody picked up the call. Finally it went through and the guy asked you to email the front desk.
4. You email the front desk and nobody replies you.

We liked that it was dog friendly, the dog can come into the bar/restaurant area too and there was a little area to walk outside for him to do his business! Room 31 was large & on ground floor- again great with a pet. Good facilities, walk in shower etc
Hotel located close to the Uni & town centre & lots of parking. The receptionist encouraged us to become an IHG member which meant we could check out later.
I was told breakfast was until 11am on a sat, but seems it was until 10am- so had to rush a bit. Most staff were very pleasant but would be nice for ALL staff to smile & acknowledge you.

Room lovely and comfortable
Katie an excellent member of staff who works very hard
No TV control in room when we got there but this was quickly rectified by management
Reception member, a foreign long blonde hair lady extremely helpful but other lady not very welcoming.
Had to wait a long time to be served in the restaurant but then I found out that it was only Katie on duties in both restaurant and bar!! My complaint was quickly rectified with free drinks which was great.
I consider Katie to be an excellent member of staff who deserves recognition for the hard work she does always with a smile

Staff was super nice and room clean and comfortable
Breakfast close too soon at 9.30 ... but perhaps I just like to sleep a lot

The location
The worst hotel experience I have ever had.
When we arrived at 17:38 we were assigned room 150, we went to the room and when we let ourselves in, we’re greeted by another family. We returned to reception when we were told to go to room 22. We unpacked and started to get ready as we had a taxi booked for 18:40. The shower did not drain when running so I returned to reception and we were moved to room 140. This room was freezing. There were 2 plug in heaters however one clicked constantly. We ran out of time so had no choice but to accept the room and get to our taxi. 3 rooms in 40 minutes. I paid on arrival and amongst this, we were given 1 complimentary drink (bar closed to a private function) so couldn’t use the drink.
On leaving today, I was stopped and told I needed to pay as the duty manager Saturday had text them to say I hadn’t paid. I showed the receptionist proof of my bank that I had paid but because we had been in 3 rooms. They couldn’t locate the correct paperwork. I paid Apple Pay which is a different 4 digit code. I was made to feel like a criminal. Yet through all of this we had such a poor experience. I had a second booking also in the name Katie Smith with a cot requested and confirmation on the cot but that was missing also.
Appalling service. Often stay in Northampton to visit family but will make sure we never stay here again.
One complimentary drink as a sorry was not acceptable when my room had four people all messed around three times. I highly recommend customer service training for all staff and processes to be checked so they know how to allocate rooms and process payments.

Room cold no heating or not working. Small mobile portable heater

Ok but a bit disorganised. Only 1 member of staff who was working very hard. Coffee machine worked intermittently
The smell in the room - awful smell of drains - one room worse than the other.heaters not working in both rooms and it was cold. Portable heaters supplied. Lunch at mid day was poor. Waited for ages most things not available the food was awful. Pizza undercooked, gammon tough and omelette tiny with very little filling and expensive

Poor wifi signal.
Room Access card didn't always work

It's nice to stay at the hotel again since it reopened. The rooms seem to have been refurbished and I was impressed with the new menu to the point where I decided not to go out, which was my first plan, and eat in the bar area. The staff were very friendly. I had a problem with my key card not working but it was sorted quickly, I was given another room and a drink voucher for the inconvenience.

Spacious room, good size bathroom, excellent breakfast , friendly staff

Staff are brilliant. They are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Breakfast was lovely. They kept making fresh eggs, hashrowns etc. Rooms clean and roomy.
The amount of spiders on windows was shocking and scary and this ruined an otherwise decent hotel for us. There were webs everywhere, spiders everywhere, went outside to take a call and sat on a little bench at the main entrance, ran for dear life as I realised the amount of spiders around me. They need to do better. Keys also kept playing up had to request a new key each time we went up after realising that they simply didn't work after every exit. Poor lighting in the rooms and very few actual plugs in the room. USB not always the best option.

The executive suite was fantastic.
