Room and staff were very helpful, they though they were under pressure due to staff shortages. coped well.
the room welcome booklet states that breakfast served till 9.30am ,we got to dinning room around 9.10am to be told breakfast finished at 9.0am. we did not see the sign on on a post, in the dinning area as we had not visited this room previously. full marks to the staff on duty and the chef as they did rustled us up something to eat. for us as we were visiting the city breakfast finishing at 9.00 am seemed a little early.
3.2
Beautiful and serene location. Staff very welcoming.
Beds were so uncomfortable. Arm chair in room had brown stains and ripped on the side. Furniture in room could do with upgrading including tv. Entrance corridors were full of dust, not good for guests with allergies.
3.2
It was a quite location
No one on reception when we arrived, the rooms were clean but very dated. The other guests were very noisy sitting outside our window until midnight with their dogs barking continuously hotel a bit tired
3.2
The only thing I liked about this place was the location of it being down a country lane away from the main road.
I didn’t like the fact that the shower was freezing cold as I had no hot water, tv didn’t work either. The bed was like sleeping on a brick and Everytime I moved I probably woke up the next room.
Had to find local gym to have a warm shower
No night team in place so couldn’t tell anyone till the morning about the issues.
Staff member on reception after telling her about the water and tv simple said “ok I’ll check it out” no soft apology or anything. Clearly heard it all before
I stay at a lot of hotels but the is the worst one in years, hands down.
The picture on the website looked beautiful but in reality it’s not what you book at all. From the decor , chairs , bedding.
Literally needs £250 mattress, £200 shower (and boiler to be working) some nice bedding and a £100 nice tele and it’ll be a beautiful place. Shame it’s owners or management seem to have no love for the place

We did not take breakfast
Sat nav took us at first to another hotel with a similarpost code.

off road so good for dog walking
it was fairly run down and in need of refurbishment
3.2
Not a lot
It needs updated, mattress was bad, needed replacing years ago. woke up with a bad back.
3.2
Value for money , food was excellent , two sitting rooms to relax in . Very friendly staff
Rooms were pleasant tidy and clean
Toiletries and linen good quality
Some general tidying up around the car park area required, pot holes on entrance road need filling (not too bad)
Entrance to courtyard rooms - wood outside door needs replacing (warped)
Outside paintwork needs attention
All cosmetic work but would make a difference .
3.2
out of the way, plenty of character, staff exceptional welcoming, great food and dining experience
water feed noisy

It was quiet, the staff were lovely and the room was comfortable
It was a bit more remote than I realised

Staff were great ,helpful. Food was good.
First bedroom offered was unacceptable. 2nd bedroom was good but we were disturbed by noisy people arguing and swearing in the bedroom above us. It got so bad that we had to change rooms again. We were in the process of leaving when the night porter asked us what the problem was and found us another room. 3 rooms for one night's stay is not good. Management was supposed to ring us back next day but never did. We had stayed there before and had no problems then but will not go back.
3.2
Quiet location
very dated in need of some investment

Lovely lady met us at reception and checked us in smoothly.
The food in the restaurant was lovely and freshly cooked.
Our room was a good size and had a comfortable bed, desk area and sofa.
TV on the wall was a good size (although it didn't work for us) WIFI was free and easily accessed adnd a really good speed
We got a little lost finding the hotel in the dark. The signage was not great and the lane you drive down doesn't look like you should drive down it at all.
The room was quite cold and we had to leave the electric heater on for a few hours to warm up but by the time we had dinner it was lovely, The rooms are very dated and could do with a freshen up. The water pressure wasn't great in the shower but i had a lovely hot bath.
3.2
Quiet, room was very clean, staff were lovely & the location was handy for a family event
1970s decor, shabby room, v expensive early check in, hotel was not clearly marked from the road & down a single track lane, so I was unsure we had arrived at the right place, bedroom furniture including the bed was very worn. However we were just needing a clean quiet bedroom for the night so it suited us.
3.2
clean property, friendly staff, decent breakfast
Heating was broken, no hot water, decoration from the 80’s - cross between Bates motel and the Outlook Hotel
3.2
has character
room was very small and old. needed decorating and bringing yo-yo date. bathroom door not fully opening due to toilet location
3.2
The hotel is set in lovely grounds. Nice and rural.
The decor, fixtures and fittings are a little tired and could do with being updated.
I had contacted the hotel earlier on in the week to see if we could check in early; we could. But then on arrival we told that we would have to pay £10/ hour for every hour we’d checked in early.
Also, another guest played very loud music all night until my husband went to reception to report it twice by this time I was past trying to get to sleep and gave up.
3.2
So our of the way and secluded
Room slightly dated and chair has massive rip in it just needs some tlc
