Amazing value. The room was big and immaculately clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking is free and the location ideal for a short walk to the town. For the money, it was excellent.

Pleasantly surprised by how clean, comfortable & quiet the hotel was having read some of the previous reviews.
The staff we came across were courteous. It was very quiet, almost like a ghost hotel.
Everything worked ie TV, shower, kettle etc & the sheets & towels were crisp & fresh.
We didn't have the breakfast so cant comment.
I wouldn't be surprised if homeless people were being housed there but whoever they were they were no problem.
Good value for money.
Eerily quiet.
The window was left ajar but luckily we noticed so were able to secure the room.

Big bed
I stayed in this hotel before it changed hands and rated it 9.6 now I don't think I'd give it a 4.0 . However this hotel has gone down hill big style such a shame they have all the facilities pool restaurant bar function room lift and there not putting any of these things to use . its dirty dated and looks derelict from outside . Nothing like the pictures I went on trivago and the photos show a pool a bar restaurant the lot so therefore very misleading as the photos are of the old carlton . The photos have nice beds with lovely headboards there's none of that I had a big bed with no headboard and one pillow each the decor is dated in nicotine yellow . The room smelled awful the scenery was a brick wall with uncut grass area and bits of scooter and metal on it windows filthy .what looked like poo on the bed sheets . Got there asked for wi fi password he said he would fetch it , he didn't come after a while so had to go get it wi fi kept going off . Plugged my toothbrush in to charge it all the lights go out so back down the corridor to get it fixed .. they did come and do it but had to fetch someone in to turn the fuse back on . The noise was horrendous got to sleep woke up to shouting and laughing fell to sleep again and woke up again to shouting .. then awake on and off all night with doors banging and someone up and down the corridor. All in all this hotel isn't good and needs serious updates and at least some facilities in there as there's no bar no restaurant no pool even the lift dosnt work .look on trivago at the photos to what it's really like

It was in an ideal location, close to pubs and restaurants, plenty parking space, rooms were nice and beds exceptionally comfortable, showers great!
It’s a bit dated in parts of the hotel and there was no bar/restaurant service open in the property yet so no breakfast included! However Wetherspoons is just a 2 minute drive away and was lovely!

Found pubic hairs in the bath. Had a very weird smell in the room, and the stench of sweaty feet coming from the hall way was horrific
Also very outdated!

Nothing! Outside on arrival it was partly boarded up and the rubbish strewn about. In no way did it resemble any of the photos or descriptions used to promote it on booking.com.
It advertised a bar and restaurant, there were neither. I arrived hungry and thirsty after a six hour journey.
The bathroom had other peoples dirt and hair in it.
The flooring hasn’t been hoovered.
The very black and dirty net curtains hung off the rail. The heavier curtains had awful stains on them.
There was filth and dirt on the walls in several places and the bathroom radiator was covered in muck with a towel under it to catch any leaks.
People were smoking weed in their rooms the stench was obvious and overwhelming. Women were screaming and the noise was ridiculous.
Everything see above
I’ve taken several photos

There was no breakfast at all,the only drink was in your room tea coffee so tied to room the bar/pub area is boarded up not going be used in the future

Once we finally got the room we booked it was nice
Booked a double room, ended up in a family room, it was shabby and dated and no hot water so complained, got moved to a double room, this was much better.

I had a booking cancelled and needed to sort something urgent. We had tickets to see a band, everywhere in Sheffield was either sold out or a ridiculous price, so we took this was a great price and saved the day.
Not very clean in places, only saw one member of staff and that was when we checked in. There is no facilities like a bar or any seating in the reception area.

The property was is good reach of what we needed
On entry we was told we had to use cash we couldn’t use are cards as there was a problem but with covid on I would of thought that was a priority to get sorted
When we got in our room the sheets & pillow cases hadn’t been ironed they were all creased
We had the wrong remote for tv and had to stand on a chair to turn it over
I tried ring reception but the phone didn’t work, i tried to ring reception from my mobile and didn’t get a reply
We went to find a speed bank up the street so we could pay for dinner in bar as they didn’t take card too
I know you may think these are trivial things but when you travel from one city to another you should be able to relax not run around

Location, staff. Green feilds
Poor conditions
Shower curtain was dirty and had a foul smell.
Double bed had two single beds pushed together, I kept sinking between it. I had a bad back after. Toilet seat was very loose. The bed sheets did not fit properly.
I had a terrible night.
