Leckeres Abendessen im Restaurant - preislich i.O.

Absolutely stunning location and a beatiful, stylish hotel. The spa was lovely and the ski lockers some of the nicest I've seen.
While the staff were friendly, it felt completely disorganised.
1. The hotel feels like a maze to new guests, and while we were given directions to our room when we checked in, being told to take the lift to the basement for the ski lockers wasn't helpful - turns out there are three different lifts in different parts of the building that go to different places - only one goes to the lockers! We spent a lot of time wondering around the hotel on our first day, and there are no maps and very few signs.
2. We were told to book a time slot for the spa to help manage numbers, but weren't told there was a charge and we weren't given directions. Cue another 15 minutes wondering the hotel and an unexpected bill at the end.
3. We ate in the restaurant on two nights - the first was good and the pizzas we ordered were great. The second night was total disarray - the kitchen was short-staffed, which we overheard the waitress tell another table. After an hour's wait we were offered a drink on the house, although without apology or explanation. When food arrived, my caneloni was small and barely warm - I wish I'd ordered a pizza!
4. The ski lift up to the hotel was out of order for the three days we were there. Whilst not the hotel's fault, the lack of clarity around buses (from both the hotel staff and the resort) made getting around really hard. The "not our buses, not our problem" attitude really wore thin - the hotel should do more to make sure its guests are comfortable, especially when that hotel is halfway up a mountain!
Overall, we spent a lot of money on this stay and were really looking forward to it. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated.

Absolutely gorgeous. As a couple of architects, we were thrilled to stay in this lovely facility. Great views, impressive dining and gathering spaces, attention to design details, and comfortable bedding made our stay perfect.
As with many of our hotels, we needed wash cloths, bath floor towels (for safety), and a ledge in the shower to shave and wash feet.

Amazing breakfast and the spa was spectacular. Rooms were very comfortable with amazing view of the slopes. I stayed there in the summer. Validation for the toll road was easy and loved the option of free parking 200 meters down the road.
I thought the Spa was included in the stay of the hotel. That wasn't very clear on the website. It would have been nice to know.

The hotel was very clean, the whole day the cleaning staff was in charge. The best thing about the hotel was the view and the location of the hotel. But also the possibility to eat during the day at the hotel was very good. The Spa had a very beautiful view above the mountains and everything you need for a day at the Spa.
Everything was perfectly clean.

Stayed 2 nights end of April and I understand it was the end of the season (staff reminded me that a good 10 times but is it really my problem as a guest…?) but the service of this hotel is simply not on par to the amenities which are first class. Example:
• Hotel was completely understaffed, everything took forever from F&B to Spa. Example to book a massage, the staff advised me to it by myself online (what?).
• SPA is not included for hotel guest, again something unseen in the 50+ countries I visited.
• There was construction work all over the hotel, despite the hotel still being pretty full. Couldn’t they wait an extra week to start renovation when the season would have been over…?
• We arrived at 23pm and couldn’t get any food, not even room service.
• Hotel offers no shuttle service (unseen for me in the Alps) and wouldn’t even call taxi for me. Hemsedal is very hard to move around and the hotel is at the top of the village with a bus coming once every 2 hours. When I called to ask for taxi, the staff answer was “we are not a taxi service company, you have to call yourself”. Excuse me?
• Rooms are also not as modern as the rest of the hotel, in particular the bathrooms.
• Finally the staff doesn’t answer on booking.com, which is never ideal.

The restaurant food and staff was appalling.
The hot option food at breakfast was served stone cold and the staff weren’t bothered at all . They were ignorant and rude . the bar were excellent by the way.

Good location, nice view, direct access to the ski slopes from the hotel.
The price is too high for the service offered. Special attention should be paid to the restaurant. Lack of staff in the kitchen, we waited an hour for our order. A small selection of food.

Ski right from the hotel and a lift to bring you right back. Nice bar area and good breakfast. Rooms are very nice and comfortable.
Not a huge amount of variety in the restaurant and unless driving its difficult to get anywhere else

Modern style hotel with stunning views over the valley. Very good breakfast choice except for the coffee (machine broke down on day 2 and never got fixed). Excellent gym although probably quite packed when hotel is fully booked.
The prices are just simply very high in Norway, the food in the hotel no exception and about minimum 50% above German standards. As the hotel had just reopened after some extension works (main building completely new), the directions across the 4 floors and across the building was not clear and one could quite easily get a bit lost.

Nice views, and ski facilities. Nice bed.
Poor quality of food in general. Would rent a car or would travel in season.

horrible bed. not a double bed but 2 singular beds pushed together with an uncomfortable gap between

Ski lift very close to the hotel.
Big disappointment - staff. From reception to restaurant. They simply do not care.
Rooms aren’t cleaned on daily basis.
Very late check in (17:00).
Car parking view (usual practice when reservations done via Booking.com) even if hotel half empty.
Restaurant located in separate building.

Nice hotel, upper end of the 4 star imo. Great views from the room and the restaurant where you have breakfast.
Breakfast was made to order with a few sweet bits on a buffet. I had American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, good solid start to the day. Staff were all nice and very helpful.
Room was big, nice wet room shower set up, nice toiletries. View from room was amazing. Had a kettle, fridge and Nespresso machine.
Overall nice rooms and surroundings.
Only down sides were it’s a bit of a mission up to the hotel, so the free bus runs pretty infrequently up to this hotel. if you have a car, no issues, but if not you may need to pay for taxi’s, which in Norway cost a small fortune.
They’ve also tried to save money in the toilet paper. You get the stuff that’s in public toilets, like sandpaper.
spent money on l’occitane toiletries, but then buy cheap nasty toilet paper. Stupid cost saving move.

Beautiful views and nice rooms.
As my son was having ski lessons every morning hadn’t appreciated how steep and icy the drive every morning. Most cars don’t move for the duration of their stay as it’s high up the mountain and lessons at the bottom.

location and staff were great. the views are amazing with excellent shuttle to slopes for skiing. The hospitality manager / chef was amazing.
beds are too soft for my back, no slippers in rooms or bathrobes.

Easy access to slops and the staff.
Staff in general are some of the best I've met.
Unable to get an extra day due to Easter holidays, you guy's close on Monday.
