Fabulous central hotel with clean rooms with comfy beds

Breakfast was super - great choice and reasonably good quality

Fried eggs available with bacon etc and not having to order them

It was ok if you have to stay in Glasgow

The room was spacious

The local car park for parking our hire car eas filthy smelly and we were on the 9th floor and the lifts were both broken

Disgusting staff behaviour

The location

We where do we start?! We stayed for 1 night on August 18, 2024. THE GOOD The hotel location is great and this hotel is one we have stayed at many times when visiting Glasgow. The rooms are lovely, the beds are super comfy and the bathroom is very relaxing. THE BAD What let this hotel down on this occasion was the "hotel manager". She called herself Irene. This lady was THE most awful staff member we have ever come across. Let me break this down but before I go into detail, I should say she should absolutely never be customer facing. She requires further customer service training. I'm even doubting she was the manager judging by her behaviour. We arrived at the hotel early evening. We were being checked in by Irene and she asked for a £50 security deposit. In the past we have refused to leave this as we pay as we go. Irene insisted we paid it and said it was for damages. £50 is not going to go far for damages but that wasn't the actual issue. The issue was, we had paid in full for a premium room upfront and were denied our stay unless we paid the £50 security deposit. It was myself and my husband checking in. Irene became very confrontational and so did her colleague who decided to come over and assist with applying pressure at if he were her bodyguard. Irene ushered him away but continued to say "I cannot check you in unless you pay the £50". This is when it became even more upsetting. We asked Irene where we were supposed to sleep and she said "I don't know, I cannot check you in and I'm just doing my job". When I told her our payment for the premium room was non refundable, she shrugged and continued to say "I cannot check you in without you first paying the £50". In the end we paid the £50 and went to our room. Our argument was, what if we didn't have £50? Why wouldn't we still be able to use our room?!

Tranquil i còmode

L'amplada de l'habitació i l'aire condicionat. La ubicació i la neteja. Ens reposaven l'aigua i tot el que utilitzessis al dia següent. El personal de neteja i de recepció molt amables.

No he posat més nota a les instal·lacions perquè la cafetera no anava, calia fer un manteniment, ens la van arreglar però al dia següent. Llàstima que no hi hagi pàrquing al mateix edifici.

Location was the best. And the room was really really nice.

My daughter and i had a great stay. The staff were always so pleasant and helpful to us.

The rooms were spacious and just great for my daughter and i.

Unfortunately some renovations going on. A little bit of noise heard in the bedroom in the mornings.

Highly recommended for family stays when travelling to Glasgow!

Located just a walking distance from Glasgow Central, very courteous and helpful staff, always went out of the way to make you feel at home. Huge rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast spread, buzzing with people and still the staff is able to attend to every little request!

Won’t be recommending

Very warm clean and inviting

Ordered room service called twice to chase it up nearly an hour later cancelled it due to plans and schedule, then pestered will calls whilst trying to get ready to offer breakfast or a drink at the bar. Accosted at the door on re-entry to see if I had room cards, as if we looked as if we shouldn’t be entering the building Not impressed with service

Camera spaziosa e accogliente con un letto molto confortevole. Ottima colazione a buffet. Personale gentilissimo.

A causa dei lavori in corso la piscina/spa e la palestra non erano utilizzabili. Anche gli ascensori erano interessati ai lavori e per questo non efficienti.

Lovely interiors and central location but just a few improvements would make it 10/10

Clean, contemporary and central location as well as size of bedroom

No dressing table with mirror to sit and do make up. Only option was to stand in bathroom or sit on floor next to big floor length mirror. Breakfast experience was a bit all over the place. Ran out of lots of hot items and then a gap between them getting refilled. Waited a while for tea/toast to be delivered. Couple of the staff members at breakfast weren’t the most pleasant and it felt like you were an inconvenience for asking something.

Overall a great experience staying there and will stay there again when I'm in Glasgow

We arrived rather late due to the storms causing delays and wreaking havoc with our travel plans. The staff accomodated us well with our changes in plans with no issues. They were also very helpful when the room we had a fault in the plumbing so they offered to change the room. The room size was great and the beds were comfortable. The location was fantastic being next to the Glasgow central station.

Disappointing.

Work started at 7:30am right outside my window when the property specified that it wouldn’t start until 9am. Swimming pool was closed. Climate control in room locked and set too high.

Pleasant & comfortable

Always feels nice walking into the foyer relaxed and clean. It was a nice surprise walking into our room which had recently been done up. The last time we noted the decor was a bit tatty getting, so i was pleased to see their has been improvements. The bar is always good to sit in for a few drinks the staff are always so helpful.

There was signs telling us about the lifts as they were making improvements in that area so we may experience issues. We found it very frustrating going up and down not reaching our floor. We ended up getting out on the fourth floor and taking the stairs to the 6th. Also the pillows, one super soft and one super hard. Think I might take my own pillow next time.

Nice hotel, good location but unhelpful when I wanted an invoice,

Property was fine and location was excellent

I booked through Booking.com. When I checked into the hotel I was told that they would give me an invoice(which I need to claim back expenses) when I left the following morning. When I checked out I was told that they couldn’t provide any sort of invoice at all and that I had to get one from Booking.com. The receptionist called over (I guess) a manager / supervisor and he said the same thing. I’ve used Booking.com a lot and never experienced this before. My receipt from Booking.com says “A valid tax invoice for tax purposes can only be issued by the property”. So I have no invoice to use to claim business expenses.

rooms refurbished to high standard and were very spacious. they were clean and comfortable

the pool and gym are undergoing rebuild and there was scaffolding up in the main area smelled a bit like a building sight however did not put me off.
