Lovely hotel in beautiful location. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely to have use of the pool and jacuzzi. Room was nice and clean.
Breakfast was fresh and hot.
Bed far too hard and prevented us all from getting a good nights sleep. WIFI not good

The staff were lovely, and the room was comfortable.
I was given cheese in my mail meal, and it was not advertised. I believe it was a mistake, but that could have been serious. The breakfast service was slow, and the mushrooms were not given as part of the full English breakfast. There seems to be problems in the kitchen...

Good size room
Quiet and peaceful
Food at dinner good
Staff very helpfully
Grounds very well kept
Good value
Breakfast good but limited
Bed not too comfortable as it is 2 singles pushed together.
No mini bar which is a pity
Charge for use of gown in health spa

The place was fine, i just thought it was a little overpriced for Plymouth - same rate as a central London Budget hotel. Breakfast was great.
Paying extra for parking at a golf course.

Staff were friendly, room was good Breakfast was very good.
We were there for a wedding, the function room was nicely decorated and the food provided at the wedding reception during the day and the evening was very good
Bit of a walk from the main areas to the function room if you are not staying at the hotel (Its all outdoors) great if its sunny but I would imagine a nightmare if its raining and windy.

Very good leisure facilities. room was very spacious. lovely surroundings and very quiet.
my wife thought the bed was a bit hard.

Spa was lovely
Think the tea cup no saucer was sad or put out mugs. It felt a bit cheap! Room was a bit tired.

Location, in beautiful surrounding countryside, yet not far from Plymouth. Good room, comfortable bed, adequate en-suite for our needs. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Attended a wedding here which was very well planned and facilitated.
Breakfast seemed disorganised to me. had to ask for coffee/tea, which was duly delivered. But did not bring milk, so had to ask again. Prepared eggs had run out and had to ask for more. Staff at breakfast did not appear to be very motivated and, from my experience, did not appear happy to be asked for something. Just an observation.

Spacious family room . All the staff were lovely and very helpful . Overlooking golf course , lovely views. Very relaxing . Dog friendly . Good food in restaurant .
Bit dated , brasserie had 3 sports TVs showing football one night which was off putting if you aren’t a football fan . Limited breakfast menu if vegetarian .

staff excellent, bed was very comfortable but made a bit too much noise, bath was amazing as was the shower
no conditioner so needed to go out and buy my own hair washing stuff as the conditioning shampoo was not great and made my hair feel like straw

Nice regency grand house with golf course and spa. Some nice walks on site and set in lovely countryside, well-situated for Plymouth and S Hams. The food was good and the bar pleasant. Very dog friendly. Good value.

It was clean. That's it. It was clean.
Both my wife and I suffer with hip and back pain and thought a night away at a hotel with a spa could be the relief that we needed.
When we arrived neither of us were in particular discomfort, but looked forward to some kind of treatment to ease the pressure. I emailed the morning of our stay to ask specifically about prices and availability as I hadn't been sent anything previously. I received a price list and nothing else. No comment advising us to book in advance. No comment advising us that spaces might be limited. When we arrived there were no treatments available at all for either day of our stay. We only stayed here for the spa.
The bed was the hardest, most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. At one point I actually considered sleeping on the floor I was in so much pain. I appreciate that I have back issues, but I've travelled the world and I have NEVER had a more uncomfortable night's sleep. Come the morning both my wife and I were in agony with our backs and hips.
The evening menu at the restaurant had one vegetarian option that sounded particularly uninspiring meaning we had to travel into Plymouth to eat. Plymouth is lovely, but the point of our trip was to maximise the use of facilities at the hotel.
The view from the bedroom window was described as a "garden view". There was a garden... Just beyond the roof of the restaurant that was directly underneath our bedroom window which we had an excellent view of.
The TV was listed as having "satellite TV", which actually equated to "free view".
When I complained about my stay before leaving I was asked by the receptionist to send an email as soon as possible so she could make sure it was forwarded to someone that could deal with it, which I did from the hotel car park.

Breakfast was very nice.
Location great pity the weather was so wet and windy, couldn't really go out and explore the grounds or Plymouth :(
We had the bar food in the evening twice, very nice but maybe a few more options?
All staff very friendly.
Massages were great :)
Enjoyed the break, just what we needed.

Breakfast was different, depending on the day, the fresh cooked breakfast was good, but other times when.it’s help yourself very poor, unfortunately, think the fresh cooked breakfast a fair price. wouldn’t pay £5 for the help yourself, sorry
Just the help yourself breakfast. otherwise always enjoy my stay, I’m finding it hard to book the room I want online, preferably I want room 3. also have phoned late after work for free room, nothing then on a website I was able to book and paid £50 more than I did on a weekend

Amazing hotel. Huge room, lovely and clean. Great food in the restaurant. The spa was lovely and great value, considering access was included in the cost of the room.
Would definitely come back when we stay in Devon again.

The location is excellent, with stunning grounds and lovely woodland walks. A short drive to Dartmoor and Plymouth. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Food was very nice: breakfast, bar meals and restaurant.
More choice is needed on the bar menu. Food was good, but it was exactly the same as when we last visited.
4.5
