Breakfast choices were good and well presented in a very timely manner. Food in the bar the previous evening was excellent as was the choice of drinks and wines served very promptly with a smile
Pity we could only stay one night!

Staff at the pub and restaurant were so helpful, polite and happy. Food in the restaurant was lovely and our junior suite room was gorgeous. The bath was huge and shower was powerful which was fab!
Room was sooo hot even with the windows open, felt like the heating was on full blast but it wasn’t on.

We booked this as a last minute decision to avoid having to drive to Heathrow in the middle of the night and glad we did. Lovely room in the back of the pub and enjoyed few drinks and a meal in the pub we will use again when we have early flight as it was very close to the airport

The Chequers is a lovely old pub that has been modernised and extended very sympathetically. We enjoyed a two night break there. We were especially impressed with restaurant and food that was excellent. We will definitely return.

Lovely food, nice venue, great restaraunt staff.
The room was too hot, only the bathroom rad was on and this was early January, we awoke and opened the patio door to cool down. the staff told us it's due to the insulation in the new building. time for a carpet change in the room.

A friendly welcome at 11 pm
unfortunately when I got to my room I opened the door and was met with a horrible smell. A mixture of overpowering air freshener, plus drains. Had to open the windows wide. On entering the bathroom I discovered the source. An overwhelming smell of bad drains filled the room. The access hatch to the plumbing was open with the grille lying on the floor, suggesting that the owners were aware of the problem. The strong smell of air freshener also suggested that they knew about the problem and tried to cover it up. I went back to reception but it isn't manned after 11 so I had no choice but to sleep in the room with the windows wide open and hold my nose every time I went to the bathroom. I was freezing cold and had to sleep in my clothes. A much needed sleep after a tiring flight was ended by traffic noise at 6 am. There is only light traffic on the lane bur what there is passes fast, and the window is only a few metres from the road. On leaving I left a written description of the problem at reception and also discussed it with the receptionist. She told me that she would discuss it with the manageress. But 12 hours later nobody has got back to me, so it seems as if they couldn't care less. It's a pity because the pub is charming and the room service menu looked tempting, and the location is great for Heathrow

The manager/owner is absolutely brilliant and welcoming had to plug my car in and he was so helpful and just a generally nice man.
The food in the bar was excellent and good value and the bar staff were so nice it just felt very homely. Sat in the bar watching in amazement of how organised they were when it was extremely busy and they looked like they were on a military operation, brilliant to watch.
Only planned on staying for one night and going to another hotel in London but travelled back for over 30 mins for the rest of the week and the week after because it was that good.
The cheaper rooms didn’t have fans and it was over 35 degrees and was on the bottom floor so didn’t feel safe with the window open.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the quality of the whole place. the bar and restaurant areas were cosy and very clean. Then the room in the annex was exceptional. we had room 24 with a nice view across the small field where we sat and watched a couple of pheasant strolling around. the fittings and furnishings in the room were very good quality and again very clean and fresh. finally the staff were very friendly and made every effort to make us feel comfortable and welcome.
nothing to say bad about this place
