The island Helgoland.
The downgrade enforced by the hotel just one single day before our departure to head for Helgoland was an experience I very much disliked. And a very cumbersome explanation by the hotel management was that the mistake was made by Booking.com. But actually, the hotel has confirmed our apartment at the location we aimed for about one month before our stay there, so who made the mistake then ? Probably there was even not a mistake but a planned downgrade in order to attract customers by a misleading advertisement on booking.com. The downgrade had many consequences, like: (1) no spacious views and location at the sea-side, but location in the middle of the little town with a view outside of our window of a souvenir shop just across a narrow street of 3m. (2) the location of the downgraded apartment was particularly noisy in the evenings because of a rumor-full cafe at no more than 5m distance, where the noise in the evening of people enjoying the nice evening with a lot of drinking sitting at the terrace close to our windows and door-step kept us awake even beyond midnight. (3) unlike the originally booked apartment, our downgraded apartment did not have a lobby for their guests, which I consider one of the main features of a good hotel. (4) breakfast was served in another hotel, at walking distance, unlike at the envisioned hotel-apartment, where breakfast was in the same building.
So, on the question, whether I would book there again or whether I would suggest anyone to book at this hotel, my answer is simply a double NO. The minimal characteristic of a good hotel is that you can trust their management, and I have very serious doubts about that.

Location is great, the building is stylish, and overall rooms are pleasant.
Some reviews complain about squeaky floors, but we did not notice that.
Our rooms were under the roof and we banged our heads badly several times... be careful
The breakfast was OK, but nothing special, and on one day there were too many flies flying around.

The staff is nice at reception and they reacted very quickly when I told them there was no opener for the drinks and they brought one.
Free drinks in the room and they offered also room for storing luggage. You don't need to drag always the luggage if you check out in the morning and switch to other hotels or departure.
Breakfast was ok but typical German and not so many food to choose.
Price is relatively high during high season. Need to book it in further advance
