The rooms that had been renovated were good ,so we were happy with the room. However, we had to walk past two floors of a building site to get to our room and endure the sound of drills and hammers banging. It would have been good to have been told we were staying in an unfinished hotel!
The fact that it was still unfinished and getting to the room and passing building works was disconcerting. We were also disturbed by the noise of builders during the day. Our son was running an ultra marathon through at least one night and need to rest (as did we as crew) We we unable to due to the building works!

Great location. Made it easy for me to walk to the centre etc.
It was very nosy after 11. I didn’t mind.

Location
The room was extremely dark with only bedside lights and an ineffective floor lamp. Not enough light in bathroom and only small mirror which I had to prop against pillows on bed to try apply makeup under tiny window

It has character and history, with an exceptional location for visiting Chamonix. If you are skiing only, it’s a short walk to the bus. Breakfast was also super! The staff were also exceptional, never met a more friendly front desk.
Due to the age of the building, which is also why I wanted to stay it has a strange smell from one of the bathroom drains. Barely noticeable and not an issue for me.

Great location for accessing Chamonix's train station across the road and the town center at the back. Retro decoration, lights and beddings.
The toliet, yellow copper taps and pipes looks great but shower head had a leaking side and was fixed to a low position.

The Very Nice manager
3.0
-there is a fireplace room, restaurant and bar;
-great housekeeping;
-breathtaking mountain views from room;
-quiet, peaceful refurbished room;
-great location. Train station right in front of the hotel. Restaurants, grocery stores, bus to the ski lifts are within walking distance.
-terrible heating system. Firstly, we spent the first night in a tiny room, which was very heated, it was impossible to sleep; secondly, the heating system constantly made ticking sounds, so we asked to change the room. It was also very hot in the new room, very large radiators for such a small room + heated towel rails. We couldn’t reduce heating, as a result the staff turned off the heating in our room completely.
-small double room is not double at all, it’s single room. The room doesn’t even have space to place several suitcases, large winter clothes for two persons.
-the room is not only small, but also the design is in dark colors.
-bad lighting, nothing was visible in the room. In the evening we had to highlight with phone to find the right thing in the suitcase. I've never seen such a bad lightening in hotels before.
-no mini bar, fridge, teapot in room;
-uncomfortable mattress and blankets

All! The room is great and the staff is the best. Eric made everything for a perfect stay and he got it. I had a perfect experience there!
Nothing.

Helpful staff, clean room
Very small room. There were 2 settings for the shower: a normal one and one where the water runs from a ceiling shower; the water coming from the latter smelled and tasted like old oxidized pipe and in addition the shower holder was loose/couldn’t be properly used. The shower door was not closing all the way and as a result the water was going out making all the floor wet. Finally the beds were 2 small single beds with a very thin mattress and both my partner and I woke up with back pain. The staff was friendly, and the location was nice, next to restaurants and shops, with an easy access to the highway.

The room was warm and cosy. I had a lovely peaceful stay after previously staying at another place with a bar beneath. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful.Fantastic breakfast, with a variety of options to choose from. I highly recommend staying here.
There was nothing to dislike.
