Location is excellent
Our apartment was clean & spacious.
Pool looked rather murky, not at all inviting. May have just been the colour but not nice to look at.
Whole place is a bit tired due to its age I guess.

Air conditioning unit was great for the hot weather.
Kitchen was clean and tidy.
Location was great

Quiet surrounds, lovely garden and pool. Well kept and lovely people. Our unit was good, with a nice balcony. Very comfortable bed.
Very limited amount of cutlery and crockery and saucepans, Hot plates - only 2 and not in very good order. No coffee plunger. We found that Dicky Beach is not the safest for us as an older couple and ended up driving around to Kings Beach. We found this much better and was only a short drive away.
We found it difficult to have to climb in over a very high sided spa bath to have a shower, and although WiFi was advertised, we had to have a connection put in to the unit to access this and then couldn't use the DVD player.

The unit complex is in a great location.
The bed was as hard as a rock. A $100 mattress topper would have made a world of difference.

Location and the size of the apartment
I liked everything

The pool is heated but we didn't have time to try it out.
The room was very tired and not even a broom to pick up the sand off the floor. a 40 year old carpet sweeper was all that was available. Windows were dirty inside and hadn't been cleaned in some time.

location
tired apartment, very old unsupportive and uncomfortable mattress. dishwasher needs replacing

location was good - close to the beach
beds were very uncomfortable - old, lumpy and soft. felt like they haven’t been replaced in over 10 years. I am almost certain there was a junky staying above us, that paired with the junky banging, crashing and moving furniture between 11pm and 3am. with no staff on site and no one answering calls we were left with no one to help us so we just copped a sleepless night. not great when you have a toddler.
for 200 something a night you’d expect there to be some level of service but everything was DIY. you’re expected to take any rubbish out at the end of your stay which is a bit ridiculous. watch out for extra / hidden costs I only read after that they charge you extra if you drink the crappy old tea bags they have in the apartment.

location
the room was dirty, mould on window ledges, both my children were sick after staying in this property, room needs updating

The location was the best thing, we didn't use our car the entire stay
Obviously it's not the cleanest but I have a toddler so wasn't phased, I was shocked though seeing the workers on the roof 7am Saturday when emails were sent out saying only Monday to Friday

Great room. No need for car could walk to beach and shops. Great pool for hot days.

The pool was excellent for our small kids. The apartment size was good, beds were comfy and couches were comfy. Location was also good.
Overall maintenance issues and cleanliness of the apartment was below acceptable. Biggest issues were not having air-con working in the main bedroom, it was very uncomfortable to sleep and we should have been informed before arrival as we know from staff it had been broken for more than a week before we arrived. Secondly the carpet was very old and dirty, and between the carpet in the main bedroom and the ensuite there were rusty nails sticking up through the carpet that punctured my 3 year olds toe and my foot before I realised what it was. I pulled one out and then had the maintenance guy come up on Thursday to hammer down the other two sticking up. The tiles on the balcony off the main bedroom were extremely wobbly and quite unsafe. The microwave and jaffle maker need replacing, they had sections broken and the fact they hadn't been replaced when they are such cheap items came across as the owners just don't care about the state of the apartment. Also the lack of amenities such as dishwashing detergent and laundry detergent, things like salt and pepper shakers and glad wrap were not available, it was very disappointing and should be better communicated to people staying so they can arrive prepared with those items. Overall we would never stay again, it was not worth $600+ per night and feel ripped off given the state of the apartment. We even found lolly wrappers and dried flowers on the floors in the rooms so it was just lazy cleaning.

Dicky Beach is a quieter location on the Sunshine Coast with access to amazing beaches.

Room was huge and clean, and private. Pool area was great! Staff on check in were super nice and helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

The hotel itself is very conveniently located, right on the main strip of shops at Dicky Beach, across from the beach and walking distance to quite a few different restaurants. Additionally, Portobello also has a pool, which is particularly great for little ones as it has a shallow area which goes almost entirely around the pool.
It also has on-site and secure parking.
The unit itself was advertised as being air conditioned. Upon arrival, we did note that there was one air conditioning unit in the living room, which did not however cool either one of the two bedrooms. So while the living room could be made freezing, both bedrooms were at the mercy of ceiling fans, which settings did not work well. One could either select from a slight breeze which did nothing to cool the room (speeds 1 and 2), or standing behind a jet engine (both in strength of wind and noise).
Additionally, we found our unit dirty. There were numerous dead flies in the unit when we arrived, as well as multiple chocolate wrappers in the bedroom, in addition to sand on the floor and couches. For the fact that guests are requested to clean after themselves during their stay as well (understandably), we definitely expected better.
While the pool is fantastic, and our little one had the time of her life, the deck needs some definite work! Some of the floor boards have nails sticking out, and are quite uneven. Our daughter cut herself on the deck while getting out of the pool.
Our unit was also located right above the tobacconist on the main stretch. In our booking we did make clear that we were travelling with a toddler, so this unit was not suitable as cigarette and cigar smoke emanated frequently from the tobacconist into our unit. Ironic considering the multiple 'no smoking' signs around the unit itself.

Beautiful apartment, very clean with everything we needed.
Bed was super super comfortable.
9.0
Comfortable apartment with everything we needed, and loads of space. We used the washer, dryer and dishwasher, all of which worked well and had a sachet of the relevant liquids available to use. Pool and facilities looked great but it rained the entirety of our stay. Good location for small grocery store and drink shop and a couple of restaurants
Mostly clean, just a few spots of dust on the headboard and the bathroom tiles were a bit grimey, but nothing too obvious
