Superb

Great place and great location. Its a walking distancie from the castle and city centre but the hotel área is quiet and really pretty. Staff were polite and helpful. Would definetily come back!

Not worth over £240 for two nights.

Breakfast.

Long wait to be checked in. Absolutely tiny bathroom, the sink overlapped the toilet. The entrance to the shower was minute! The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy and hard. The noise in the evening, from the pub below was horrendous, until gone midnight both nights. The sound from the toilets below - the hand dryer was so loud, it was crazy!

Brilliant will continue to return

Staff were helpful and friendly as on our last stay. So will be staying here again as long as you can reserve a parking space. Breakfast excellent value. Great location.

Warm, generous sized room, comfortable bed and warm shower. The staff are very friendly and helpful and a handy location for work outside the city centre.

It’s an older building so do get a bit of noise from other rooms.

Lovely

Very comfortable bed and plenty of hot drink making facilities. The shower gel was lovely and location is a short walk from the city centre. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were amazing.

Bathroom is a little bit of a tight fit for a larger person, towels were a little bit worn.

Fine for a nights stay.

Bathroom was tiny so felt squashed. Worst thing was some equipment outside thumping all night long. Couldn't tell where the noise came from.

Comfortable rooms in a perfect location.

This hotel was amazing! Perfect location within walking distance to downtown Cardiff and the castle. Lovely park across the river. The room was clean and comfortable. Although we were here on a busy Saturday night, we couldn't hear anything from downstairs or outside.

having a parking place, even though everyone was parked as they fitted. Clean inside the room, and the bathroom

No heating on, you had to call them several times the reception for them to start the heating for your room....February still needs heating, even if the prices are rising, and we've paid enough to have heating on all the time, not just when calling to the reception

Good and clean room, but I would stay again due to unfriendly staff.

Room was spacious and super clean, also completely redecorate in good taste. Parking was not always available. Restaurant downstairs seemed good but after a female staff on our second morning told us no soya milk, no plant milk at all, we were suspicious of their vegan menu, so we never tried to eat there. The cocktails were good and the bar staff at night were friendly.

Staff member at reception and restaurant, lady kept insisting with us that they didn't have soya milk, she was unfriendly and seemed not want to check when we told her we had soya milk the day before, she told my partner we were lying, so other guests at the hotel got up from the table and brought us the soya milk: saying here it is love, of course they have it! passing us the soya milk that was on the breakfast table.

Very good

Room was great size and tidy. The staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. Location is right in the center of Cardiff so easy to walk or get a taxi anywhere. The service and food in the bar/reaturant was great. The price was great for location, service and quality. Would definitely stay again.

A few minor marks on the room walls could do with a touch up of paint and the pillows for me where a little hard. Other than that was a lovely stay for me and my children. Would definatly recommend and stay again.

Recently refurbished, clean, good facilities. Nice new bathroom facilities, we do we're visiting family so didn't use the restaurant or bar, but it all looked nice. We were in room 15 the bathroom fan was LOUD but no noise from the pub. Bed was comfy, all in all rather nice.

Disappointing venue, disinclination of staff

Hotel was in an excellent location for Sophia Gardens.

We arrived at the hotel 2 hours before the checking in time stated on the paperwork received when booking as we were going to the Hundred (Cricket) at Sophia Gardens. There was no flexibility from staff to allow us to book in, despite stating no access to the room was required.

It is very close to Sophia gardens, lovely parks nearby and around 20 minutes walk in to the centre of Cardiff

The door handle on the bathroom was broken. The paint on the walls had peeled off. It was very warm and when asked for another fan they never brought one. The noise from the pub downstairs was incredibly loud, bear in mind I am a 31 year old, I like a good time like most people, but this was exceptionally loud. The room wasn't as clean as I would like it to be, I woke up in the morning to find a silver fish in the bed sheets. The staff are not professional, but they are lovely, just don't expect them to do anything if you ask for some help. The bathrooms are very small. Very old and dated. We paid £198 for two nights, and this is not worth that amount of money.

10 minute walk from city centre, opposite a lovely riverside park. The restaurant downstairs was handy for food or drinks in the evening. Breakfast was good too. Clean and comfortable room. The bathroom was lush.

Only thing was limited parking but there was always free on street parking too so not the end of the world.
