We lost 135k Y by just staying at hotel 30 min, the hotel gave us the worst Japan experience ever

We booked 2 rooms, 2 nights, 2 guests per room (33,795 Y per room night, sky rocket additional charge for weekend). Staff gave us the maintenance notice card with the keys after check-in with hardly explained anything in English. Unfortunately, the hotel has full-day time maintenace with loud noice (9am-5pm) without prior notice (applicable inform by using booking.com platform but did nothing). Due to our family member has an 18 months infant, we took just 30 min to decide to check out after check in. We immediately informed booking.com about the full refund request and returned the key back to hotel staff at the reception desk. Hotel just insisted on refunding any money by saying that they did not know about we checking out (eventhough guests personally informed and the hotel cctv at the reception desk can be proved but got ignored by hotel, also email from booking.com shows the strongest evidence with obvious date and time of full refund request from guests). Spoken and written English communication hotel staffs are so limited. Guests and booking.com sent emails to hotel in English but never got a response. Everything needs to be translated to Japanese if you need an answer back. Hotel pictures and actual rooms are totally in the opposite.

残念でした。

バスルームは改装しているのか綺麗でした。

ホテル全体が古くて清潔感が無い印象でした。部屋へ入ると9月でも暑くすぐに身体がかゆくなりエアコンを24℃で入れると少し回復したが、一晩中身体がかゆくて嫌な思いをした。

Ottimo Hotel nel cuore di Shinjuku

Posizione centrale, vicinissima a Kabuchiko ma nello stesso tempo in zona tranquilla e sicura; cortesia dello staff; pulizia impeccabile, dotazioni della stanza (asciugacapelli, kimono, ciabatte, bollitore, frigo bar); vicinanza alle stazioni di treno e metro, modernità della struttura

Le camere sono piccoline, ma è questo lo standard giapponese, quindi va bene così! Suggerisco di viaggiare con bagaglio leggero e valigie poco ingombranti (c'è comunque spazio per posizionarle sotto il letto)

Good

location was great with carparking next door.

There is no signage on the building and was very difficult to locate. Once I checked in and went outside, other guests were also looking for the hotel. I could only help them because I had also had a tough time finding the hotel and the reception on the second floor.

Good location in Gion but small room

Many amenities such as fresh towels every day and bathroom amenities.

Our room was a double room but it was very small and awkwardly shaped. The room was not the cleanest either as when we entered, there was an empty water bottle on the floor next to the window, stains on the duvet and marks on the wall.

Location, location, location

Unbelievable location. Right in the Gion. A few steps from Yasaka Shrine and the old Gion area. The room is very good size.

It's not flexible with the check-in time. We left our luggage in the front office.

Perfect location for central Kyoto if all you need is a clean room with all the basic necessities.

The location was super central, the room had everything we needed. It was a very small room, but we discovered this was the norm in Japan and to be honest we were out and about so much we didn't need it to be super spacious. The bed was a comfortable size and the air-conditioning was hugely appreciated in 37 degrees Celsius of heat! Staff were super efficient, polite and friendly.

The view from the window was partial, because of a privacy screen protecting the room next door as we were on a corner of the building. But what we could see was great!

Excellent stay, great location, exceptional staff!

Excellent location, close to bus stops, metro, good restaurants and down the street from Yasaka shrine. Exceptional staff. I was creating a series of difficult problems and they did an excellent job navigating my chaos. Very nice clean spacious rooms and bathrooms filled with every amenity you could think of.

Everything was amazing.

Location is amazing, right in Gion and a stone's throw from Maruyama Park. The room was small but conformable.

The rooms were very hot though, with the window being the only option to cool it down

the only significant problem that I noticed was that the elevator does not descend to the restaurant. Old people have to navigate stairs to get their breakfast, and I saw at least two people having a lot of difficulty. This should never have been planned in this way.
