The property was interesting due to it being a listed building. Chosen more for location and parking for a short one night stopover with en-suite facilities. The owner was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty.
Lighting in bedroom was very poor. Dim main light and small bedside lamp. Some orange juice with breakfast would have been nice.

Beautiful house with loads of history. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Fridge in the room was a nice touch. Great location for the town. Great value for money.

Clean bed and tea & coffee in room . Good breakfast.
Needs a little TLC as rather dated . Landlord could have been a little more cheerful .

Really good value for money fantastic to have a really good breakfast in the morning.
Climbing up that hill to get to hotel not hotels fault, but good exercise.

The guest house was basically fine, and it suited me that it was dog-friendly, but the welcome was very cool (as I arrived, I asked if I could park after a certain time in a residents' parking bay and he said, deadpan, 'if you buy a house'... I guess he's bored of being asked). When I entered the breakfast room at 8.45am, the 'Closed' sign was already on the door (breakfast hours were up to 8.45am), and the owner said, again deadpan, that they'd just washed up. He said I could have cereal and toast. I got the impression he really didn't much like running a guest house.

Thank you for fitting us in on short notice. Enjoyed meeting the proprietor and other guests over breakfast. Loved the family atmosphere and tales of old HVF. Learned story of a local landmark.
needed another blanket!

I availed of all the good facilities. An excellent full breakfast was available (as I could see from other Guests) but I only had light breakfast of Poache Eggs on Toast (very tasty) - highly recommended
Nothing except an Elivator which would be not feasucble for an oldest buiding (well kept !!)

The cooked breakfast I had was of a good standard and plentiful.
Good hot shower.
Guest house is in good position and I managed to get free parking in the road next to the guest house.
The room was freezing, the heating only seemed to come on in the morning for an hour, I half expected to find some penguins and a polar bear in the room.
Nowhere in the shower to put soap and shampoo. Tray needs installing
Unfortunately there was an extremely noisy couple of guests in the room next door, very ignorant behaviour at 4.20 AM.
Member of staff Colin is unable to take any form of criticism and prone to making unfounded accusations.

Clean throughout
Not the warmest welcome. Despite several emails back and forth was told they didn't know we were bringing a dog and there are too many emails to read, although it wasn't a problem having the dog with us.
Toilet macerator In the bathroom, en suite, was VERY loud. Perhaps we should have been told about it before we booked.
Lots of stairs, despite informing the property my husband is disabled.
Reception notice states it was open until 10pm, went down about 6.30pm to give my milk to be stored in the fridge, which was prearranged. I could not get a response. There was a phone number for Emergencies only.
Was told breakfast was until 8.45 no later, it would be closed. We went down at 8.30am not to be late. Two staff commented they thought we were coming later, seemed unhappy. The notice board in the dining room, in Welsh stated breakfast was until 9am.
Again, not the best customer care from start to finish.
Suggest anyone with slight to severe mobility problems do not book.
