The setting was exceptional and we had ideal weather to enjoy the indoor fireplace and cozy log cabin. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Food was a good as the rest of the stay. We loved it !!!
The forestry road that is used as access was much better than expected
There was nothing to not like

Loved everything! Location, service ( staff were amazing), room and the food was amazing. Staff went the extra mile to make our stay special (had best military and cream I have tasted in years). The spa ladies Sue and Si did one of the best deep tissue massages we have had in years! Simply a great experience!
I think it would be good to have aircon fin the rooms for summer. Did not effect us at this time of year!

Loved everything about The Fernery. Chalet was beautiful and luxurious with a private deck and wonderful views. So peaceful. The hot tub was fun. Restaurant food and breakfast were excellent and the staff helpful with a good attitude. Hope we can return!

The stay was comfortable, food great, unfortunately the view from our room wasn’t upto what we’d imagined. Was good but not as the photographs had promised.

The views of nature were magnificent. The place really so so quiet and calm
The road leading to the property is a gravel road and we were stuck in mud for a few minutes as it was raining.

The views from the dining area were spectacular! The chalets were spacious, with a lovely wood finish and clean. Room service was good.
Our chalet was very far from the main building which meant a long walk for the kiddies. We were forced to order dinner in our room as it was the long walk to the dining area in the evening. The welcome was rushed, no welcome drinks were offered. The road leading to the chalet is quite bumpy and long, so you need a decent car to go. Finally, our chalet had no views of the gorge or the spectacular views that the dining area had, (which was the reason why we had booked this lodge in the middle of nowhere). Our chalet looked into some trees. There might be some chalets with better views, but there were more than 1 like ours.

It was worth the drive to get there and the views were spectacular. We would have definitely wanted to spend more time as one night did not do it justice and experience more of the facilities offered and the views.
As a family of 6, we were split up a bit which made it a bit more difficult to co-ordinate. We could have been more informed so that we could have chosen the right accomodation but we know for the next time. Although it is "halaal friendly", more training to staff regarding "halaal catering" and this would have given us more confidence.

The view from the room was great. Room was large
The toiletries stunk. The food was lacking in taste. Every little request was too much for staff

Nice place, great experience. We enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend!
It's too dark in the night. Please improve lighting from Reasturant to rooms.

Beautifully located, nice facilities with the hot tub and jacuzzi. The restaurant is a plus. The huts are nice with huge bathrooms and all comfort you can wish for.
The restaurant closes really early. The staff could be more helpful to explain the facilities and where to find what.

The hot tubs
Aircon in room not just a fan

Spectacular views and nice comfortable hikes. You do need to climb down a bit to get to some of the lookout points, but these paths and stairs have been made as safe as possible and are well maintained.
Restaurant food is beautiful to look at and equally beautiful to eat!
All staff members were very friendly and helpful - thank you!
The SPICE room is very comfortable, and the bathroom is out of this world - a real 'home spa' experience.
In the Lodge itself and specifically in the restaurant there are many little staircases. It was not a problem for us but could be a problem for people with walking difficulties. We did not see any indication of this on the website or when doing the booking through Booking.com.

The Fernery, located in Tsitsikamma National Park, is an exceptional property that offers unparalleled views of the ocean and the surrounding gorge. The natural beauty of the area is simply breathtaking and unlike anything we've ever seen before.
Our two-night stay at The Fernery was an unforgettable experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. As a special touch for our honeymoon, they even upgraded us to an ocean-facing room which made our stay even more memorable.
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The view from the room was simply spectacular, and we could spend hours simply gazing out at the ocean and the surrounding landscape. The peace and tranquility of the surroundings made it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The bar at The Fernery was beautifully designed, and the fireplace provided the perfect setting for a cozy evening. The ambiance of the bar was warm and inviting, and we loved spending time there.
One of the things we loved most about The Fernery was the sense of seclusion and privacy. Despite being located in the national park, it felt like a world away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The natural beauty of the surroundings provided a peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere that we will never forget.
Overall, The Fernery is an exceptional property that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable stay in Tsitsikamma National Park. The breathtaking views, spacious and well-appointed rooms, attentive staff, and peaceful atmosphere make for a truly unforgettable experience. We can't wait to return and experience it all again.
