This is my favourite place in Bali. I come here to retreat from the world, swim in the sacred pools and rest. It is amusing watching pretty women in floaty frocks pose for photos during the day but once tourists leave it is astoundingly special. I am grateful for this place.
The villa needs a little maintenance- the hose on downstairs toilet broke and some lights weren’t working. But on the whole this is perfect for me and my husband.

Originality
House infested my mosquitoes but not only.. frog in the bath and other armless animals were fun for the kids, but 2 Asian hornets nest in the bedroom and bathroom were not fun at all.
It first looks very old school and original but the furniture are in fact old and dirty.
Even though it is not written anywhere, the check-in is only until 5pm! (After that time you have to find you own way to the villa which is really not easy).
The host's English is very approximate and he gives wrong information (be careful, no restaurant around the hotel open after 8pm).
The "access to the temple outside tourist hours" is completely useless as the temple is officially open from 6ap to 7pm (even though the receptionist will tell you 5pm..) and outside these time it is dark anyway..
The breakfast is served at the villa by the close by restaurant and is very poor (you can pick only one thing, like hot beverage or juice but not both..pancake or fruit, not both..).
You have to sleep with the noise of the hundreds waterfalls around (and animals), and no air-conditioning.
We requested a baby bed that we never got.
Don't look under the bed, there are spiders and dust.

Love this place more every time, and have visited many times. The location is perfect: who would not love to have a water garden for a front lawn? And the cottages are uniquely charming. The decor is so not hotel! They are delightfully idiosyncratic, and always make me wish I knew the owner. Windra, our host, is always delightful and goes out of his way to make our stay perfect. It is convenient having a reasonably good restaurant with a great view right next door. we cannot wait to go back again!

The place itself is sublime! You can visit the gardens when no one is around and the location is ideal.
The place was dirty, animals can easily enter. I couldn't sleep in my bed because a bird had crapped nearby, the smell was disgusting. Not to mention the dead bugs on the sheets and the mosquito net. I even had a lizard in the bed! These are things that can happen but no action was then taken by the hotel. It was the first time this happened to me in Bali and yet I had been in wilder places and at the inhabitant's.
The kindness of the reception doesn’t compensate for this type of inconvenience where I was forced to "sleep" on the sofa chairs downstairs. As stated in the other comments, the place is old but it is also badly insulated so that animals can enter and the mosquito net is not used because it is not closed. So I had a very bad stay, despite the beauty of the gardens.

The location in the Water Palace gardens was excellent . Could stroll morning and evening when there weren't so many people but also good for peole watching. The way the 3 double doors all opened up to bring the outside in. The uniqueness of the place. Rustic, quaint, Balinese and atmospheric.
There was some concern over getting back in the palce grounds at night if you went out for dinner etc. It actually wasn't an issue but communication could have been better.
For security you couldn't lock the entry door when going out for the day.
Be prepared for visits from lovely butterflies, dragonflies, snails, ants and other insects and creatures. They are all part of the experience.

The location inside Tirta Gangga with beautiful garden
not much variety choose for breakfast

I like the people that clean. Breakfast had no meat.no bacon no sausages no noodles . No variety
The manager took him two days to reach me to change room because the door lock didn't work. Cold water. Tv didn't work. He said they were coming and the never arrived. The pictures at booking.com are old. The door has not been painted in a long time. People leave after ,6pm. There is no way you can hav dinner in facility after 6pm! It's very dark. I would like my money back. It's dusty. The closet smell like soo so old. No box to put your important documents. God forbid something happens to you you have to go to the entrance. The office number does not work. Try it out. The pool needs some work.
The palace with the ponds are ❤️ beautiful

Its big and has a nice outdoor area.
There are massive spiders in the garden and near your bungalow. Dead insects on the bed. The place was full of ants. Bad wifi connection. We didnt sleep there.

What an amazing experience, especially if you want to get off the tourist track and experience the real Bali! Excellent restaurants, amazing service and a view to die for! I'll definitely go back
No complaints.

It's an amazing place to stay.
The hot water didn't work and it's cool enough that you wish it did.

really unique experience, the villas are older and traditional with lots of character, we really enjoyed staying somewhere so special and different from anywhere else we had been on our trip. staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast in the room was a nice addition. bathroom is outside but quite clean and had hot water, the private pool was small but perfect for a quick cool down. the bed was comfy and the fan was good (sometimes we had to turn it on and off but did the job). for the price it was great value and we will always remember the 2 nights we stayed! was a great chill out after a busy couple of weeks!
we enjoyed our stay and as budget travellers were really happy with everything but it is a very open air villa and we did encounter some bugs (which did not bother us but should be prepared for) also tourists get to the water palace from 730am so if you are expecting the water gardens to yourself its an early wake up but still enjoyable. this place is wonderful but not a 5 star resort (which was fine with us but it seems some people are expecting more)
