staff was exceptional. made you stay at home. very accommodating. Very warm - family like atmosphere. location is amazing ! Walk out the door and across the street to the ski lift !
Beds were a little hard.
5.0
Very friendly staff, clean hotel with with on site private onsen (hot spring bath). Hotel has majestic views over surrounding forests, and monkies occasionally came to visit. 5 min walk to ski slopes and ticket office. On site ski rental, ski instruction to all levels including racing and ski and boarding instruction in English. Access to a huge area of beautiful pisted runs of all grades. Shiga Kogen area is not known for off piste skiing, but there is gated access to excellent tree ski/boarding in the Okushiga sector of the resort (at your own risk). This takes some exploring but is under-used providing many opportunities for first tracks. Bus stop outside hotel provides access to sectors of resort (free), local villages, and Nagano station.
Some parts of the hotel would benefit from renovation, it is non the less very comfortable.
4.2
We were a group of 4 So the social area was really nice, sitting by the fireplace and relaxing after skiing was perfect.
Onsen was great after a day on the slopes.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location was awesome, 150m to the lifts.
Breakfasts were good and lots of variety.
Ski rental gear from hotel was affordable and easy
There could be more Dinner options on the menu. We had to eat in-house every night as surrounding hotels all full. rooms a bit old and dated. Had to dry our ski gear in room as drying room only for boots and board which was annoying
