Friendliest staff. Beautiful location and facilities.
Food is amazing, also fresh fruit juices. Lovely pool and beach area. Beach a bit hard for swimming but if you walk 15 minutes to the right there are natural pools that are amazing.
Extremely calm and relaxing, not much going on, so you should only go ifyou really want to disconnect and relax in a beautiful place.
Everything is really beautiful, great attention to detail and friendliest staff i met in all of Brazil
Very hard to get there. Once you are there everything is perfect. But the road takes 2 hours because you can drive only 20km/h because it is so bumpy and muddy. If it rains you get stuck. Once you get there you also can't drive to other places. Recommended to get 4x4 but even that wouldn't be easy.

It’s just not possible to describe Butterfly House without using the word ‘magic’. Chloe and Lewis have created Eden on a white sand Bahian peninsula, where, amongst orchids, soaring banana plants, and dancing butterflies, we found a magical home from home.
There’s nothing at Butterfly House that can’t be catered for. The team aren’t just friendly, warm and welcoming… stay for long enough and they will feel like family. Huge thanks, especially, to Chloe, Lewis, Leilane, Elias, Netto, Mateo, and Guiu; although it seems unfair to single anyone out as absolutely everyone took exceptional care of us.
Thank you for making our birthday dreams come true. It was a once in a lifetime experience I’ll treasure forever.

Beautiful bungalows nestled within uninterrupted mata Atlantic forest, with a cosy restaurant behind which sits the post pristine uninterrupted paradise of wild bahian beach, expansive white sand and warm Atlantic waters. Either sit in the hammock steps from the sea or hang out by the small pool set within majestic gardens. Owner Lewis is an absolute gentleman and the entire staff make you feel absolutely welcome. The breakfast is a gorgeous selection of ever changing fresh fruit juices, with Brazilian staples such as tapioca and a huge selection of fruits, hams and cheeses and crunchy baguette, cakes and eggs.
Lunch and dinner cater for international and Brazilian tastes, with a selection of fish as well as Brazilian specialities such as rice and beans with beef, locally caught ocean and lake fish as well as portions of whitebait and fried calamari. International beers as well as Brazilian and a selection of gins and cocktails.
It was quite simply perfect and at £60 a night you simply won't beat this anywhere in the world.

Butterfly House has a fantastic location on the Marau Peninsula, immediately adjacent to a beautiful beach, deserted when we were there. We watched Humpback whales just offshore during their annual migration in September. The accommodation comprises individual bungalows spread through the lovely gardens. The staff are lovely, but as in most of Brazil, English is not spoken. Altogether a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Did I mention the whales?
It's a long drive up a bumpy dirt peninsula road, but that is not Butterfly's fault, and anyway it's what helps to keep the area pristine.

The hotel is fantastic. Very intimate with few bungalows which guaranteed exclusivity in service and the possibility to enjoy everything that the place offers.
Every minimally thought-out detail guaranteed total integration with nature, making it a refreshing experience, a surrender of body and soul.
The staff is super helpful. Lewis asked all the time if everything was right, guiding us even on the precautions when driving on the road. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.
The place is quite isolated, however we loved having the whole beach just for us :)
The access is not very easy, but anyone who decides to visit Marau suffers from road conditions regardless of the hotel they stay at. As we were driving, we managed to go to Barra Grande and enjoyed the sunset at Ponta do Muta (marvelous).
Dona Nilda's food is very good. Homemade seasoning without exaggerating on Dende oil. Special recommendation for the whole fish, a delight.
The dogs Filomena and Cocada are separate attractions, so cute!
A place to relax and enjoy nature. we will certainly be back!
Overcoming the fear of insects and bats, everything was perfect.
A nice thing could be to have an umbrella available in the bungalow, however it is not a "must".
