Usually people stay on the East Bank in Luxor and do a day trip to the West Bank. I decided to stay here because I wanted more freedom to explore. The owner, Mr Refaat was really nice and helped me with anything I needed. He arranged a driver to the VotK and the East Bank for a great price. Most of the things I did though, was on a bicycle that you can rent, which was great. Also for a nice price. The hotel is located right in between everything you want to see on the West Bank, and by bicycle you can get anywhere quite fast. 5 min to Colossi of Memnon and 15~20 minutes to Hatshepsut temple. Even VotK is possible, but best to attempt this in winter and morning, otherwise might be to hot. A nice dinner can be arranged by the hotel and is freshly prepared. I also liked the area a lot. It was a lot more laidback in contrast to the East Bank and Cairo. For me the stay was excellent and at a great price!
Airco couldn't keep up with the heat, though to be fair.. it were extremely hot days when I visited.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel like home. The owner, Refat, is almost the best person I met in Egypt. He is always considerable and helpful, if you need anything, first talk to him. He will help you to satisfy all your needs without cheating. He helped me to get a Hot Air Balloon ride with really low price. Without his help, I could spend much more. The hotel is near to The Valley of Kings, The Valley of Queens and Habu Temple. Almost all attractions on the West Bank are within 3km.

Great location to the valleys. View of the village and sunrise with probably hot balloons (the day I stayed cancelled for windy weather). Nice host and great breakfast.

Close to the Queen's of Valley, very friendly owner, tasty breakfast
The cleanless.

The hotel owner ist a very nice and helpful men. If you travel on your own ask him what realistic prices are for taxi, guide etc or if he could organize it.
Don't waste your time and money.

In First order the staff: Rfaat did all what was in his hands to make us like in home; and he achieved it. the location was also another very important factor: far away of the rush of Luxor city and very very close to the main atractions of Luxor. Im waiting to go back there and stay in this lovely place full of lovely people.
nothing!

If you want to visit all the important ancient sites on the West Bank and have the unique experience of staying so close without all the hassle of getting there from Luxor - then this is a brilliant place to stay. Yes, it's budget accommodation so don't expect all the frills but what an incredible location. You are right on the edge of Habu village looking out across the sand to the Valley of the Queens and Valley of the Nobles (see photos) - both just a 20 minute walk away. Medinat Habu temple is just 5 minutes walk and the Colossi of Memnon about 10 minutes away. Ramesseum & Valley of the Kings can be walked as well or just a short taxi ride or hire the hotel bikes. Good, clean basic accommodation. Excellent breakfast with the best omelette I've ever had! The evening meal is a feast in itself - all cooked to order using local fresh produce. Or you can visit the cafes & restaurants that are near Medinat Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Lovely fruit stall and small supermarket nearby in the local village. You are also right next to the Antiquities Office where tickets for all the sites are on sale from 6am each day. Apart from the stunning location, what really makes this an exceptional place to stay is the owner, Refat, who will go out of his way to arrange anything you need or offer helpful advice regarding what you want to see or do. This is an historic guest house which, in his father's days, hosted many eminent archaeologists and film makers. Staying in a place like this just adds to all the other memorable experiences of being so close to these ancient sites. In the evening, you are looking out at the floodlit hills and monuments from the hotel garden or the rooftop terrace and all the tourists have gone back to Luxor or the resorts they came from. Then you wake up in the morning to the sight of dozens of hot air balloons just passing over the hotel!

Pharaos hotel is a great hotel, one of the best I have ever stayed. The owner can help you with all you need, he can arrange everything at cheap prices. I had amazing time in the hotel, the view from the terrace is magnificent

The room was clean and tidy, the owner, Refaat, was friendly and honest, the hotel restaurant and the tuktuk were very reliable and the price was fair and half the price of what I could find on my own.
The location of the hotel is very good, only 20 minutes walk from the Teihou Valley, several attractions are very close, the hotel also has bicycles, you can go out at 9:00 am, come back at 11:30 am, eat at the hotel and then take a nap, then go out again at 3:00 pm and you can have fun and not get tired.
Refaat is a very good cook and his food was to my liking. I enjoyed talking to him every time and I am grateful to him for introducing the local culture and people, which made my trip more fulfilling and complete.

Clean and tidy room; sufficient hot water; terrace view of the valley; super friendly and helpful owner. Easy access to West Bank attractions, even by bicycle.
I rented bicycle and booked hot balloon through owner with reasonable price, sparing me from dealing with potential scammers outside.
Could not stay longer.

Everything is good, all staffs are very kind! Thank you very much!

The staff is incredibly helpful. Refaat goes out of his way to make ends meet for my trip in several aspects. The place is on holy grounds extremely close next to all the temples i love in luxor. The view at night was magnificent and the owner is always one call away from securing anyrhing i need. I enjoyed it more than the east side which is more city like. This area is both comfortable and give me the best experience of luxor as the holy area it is. The ferry to the east bank is a 5 min tuktuk drive awah from the hotel. And thekr breakfast is delcious!
4.4
Especially location, you are living in the center of ancient history with beautiful view from terrace to mountains and sunset. Very helpful and pleasant owner Refaat can solve all your needs, just trust him. Breakfast is well balanced and also you can order good dinner, don’t hesitate do it. Around you can find all you need - small shop and fruit kiosk, cafes.
If you want to feel some magic ancient power - book this place without any doubt.

best location in Luxor! away from the maddening crowds.. peace and quiet- you can hear the wind in the trees and walk around the streets with no hassle. helpful and friendly staff and locals, breakfast in garden a delight, we relaxed and stayed one night extra than planned.
faculties in room are very basic but at the price reasonable :)
4.4
Nice location. I could go to some archaeological sites on foot.
Staff was very helpful.
There was no facility in the room except beds. It is very nice if we could use a refrigerator in the room.
4.4
I enjoyed the situation. It was nearst all East attraction of Luxor.
The hotel was clean snd quiet.
Hotel has a nice garden. Views were amazing.

The owner took really care about my interests. He helped me a lot to get around in the area and provided a lot of information about the surrounding places of interest. The Hotel is right in the middle of all the famous sightseeing spots, to some you can even walk :)
4.4
The view from the garden terrace (where you can eat) is breathtaking - you see the ruins, you see them lit up at night, you even see a giant hot air balloon sometimes!
It gives you respite from the intensity of the other side of the river, if that is what you are looking for.
The host was great - I hung out with him as a friend, talked about life and the world. He also helped me a lot.
The rest of the staff is made up of good people.
This is more about Luxor than the hotel. Luxor is intense for a traveller - there are too many people trying to take advantage of you all the time. The host of this hotel can actually help you navigate that, so feel free to reach out to him and talk to him about all that you encounter.

1. The location was perfect! Right in the middle of all the temples and archaeological sites of the west bank of Luxor, which most of the sites of Luxor I chose the hotel because i could walk to all the sites by myself. Most of them were less than a mile away, one was two miles and only one was about miles away. There i chose to get cab for the return.
2. The hotel has a wonderful garden where i sat around and had all my meals.
3. The service was the best the owner manager Rifad was just terrific and his staff were also extremely friendly and helpful.
4. I had all my meals at the hotel. The free breakfast was huge and I could have my meals at the hotel, at the time I chose and with the menu i chose.
5. The location is within a small village and very near a small town, which offers another insight into the life in Egypt.
My hotel room was large but it did not have a functioning TV or AC. However, neither was needed. The weather was a perfect warm Spring.
The hotel is quite old and run down. But it was very clean and very comfortable and the room was gigantic.

Close to most famous places in West bank, you may visit all of them by walking. Amazing home made food, great breakfast! Owner is helpful guy, which help me to organise my trip in Luxor for 3 days. Amazing hotel and people living there. Thanks you Good luck!

Refat welcomes you like part of the family, he is super kind and will do anything he can to help you enjoy your stay. The hotel is as close to the valleys as you can be, go up to the roof for sunset and to view them lit up at night. He explained how to negotiate the taxis, tuktuks and microvans for the real price to help my money go further, and arranged a private car to take me and two friends around all the historical sites - Mr Ahmed was the perfect driver and guide, no hassle and great value for a whole day. There are bikes for hire too which I loved for one day. The traditional breakfast is the perfect way to start your day and give you the energy you need for exploring. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much Refat and Ahmed!!

Great location, eaisly walkable to all of the shights in the West Bank, and very halpful staff/owner.
Wifi could be a bit spotty, but owner was quick to help.
4.4
The location is perfect, there is nothing in between the hotel and the Valley of Kings (/Queens), just sand and more ancient sites. Panoramic views from the terrace are breathtaking! Temple of Ramesses III is less than 5 minutes walk, so is the City of the Sun. The environment has an extraordinary and enriching vibe. It is the perfect base to exploring and enjoying the many ancient sites on the west bank without wasting too much time on transportation, at any time of the day and night (most of the tombs and temples are illuminated). You can even rent bicycles in this hotel. And the main ticket office is just a few houses to the right. The owner is very friendly and interesting guy, very hospitable, too. They prepare tasty authentic dishes and the portions are big. They can arrange for your also all the trips, like hotair baloon flights, for considerably better prices than anywhere else.

Our stay in Pharaohs Hotel was so chill. We stayed in Luxor for 2 nights on the east bank and hated the experience constantly harassed by vendors and touts. Imagine our surprise to find the area surrounding Pharaohs Hotel was the complete opposite. Walking around the village passed Habu temple was such a breath of fresh air ,meeting friendly locals that wanted nothing more from you other than to say hello. Refat the owner was such a cool guy, never pressured us to take any tours or taxis or anything else. He was very helpful with any questions about the area and even suggested that we can walk the 1hr 20 to the kings valley if we go 1st thing in the morning before it gets hot, 100% different from any other owner of the hotels/hostels we stayed in who seem to be just trying to milk you dry. It’s true that the rooms and the hotel in general needs a little bit of TLC but it’s was clean and if you stay for lunch or dinner expect a feast fit for a Pharaoh.
The room and bathroom needed to some love. however it was clean.

A nice place, close to the main attractions on the West Bank of Luxor. Ustad Rifat and his staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent.

Enjoyed my stay here with Mohammed and Refat. This affordable hotel is in a quiet area, and right next to Medinet Habu. You can walk to Valley of the Queens very easily, even on a hot day. The Colossi of Memnon is right around the corner. Although an older hotel, it has free wifi and offers meals. I ate three very good local style breakfasts and dinners. The AC was strong but very loud. I hope Refat can find quieter units. I hope they can also increase the shower pressure. There is a small store nearby and a cafe and restaurant. ATM's are down the road, and the Banquet Misr one works. Mohammed and Refat were very nice and helpful. Drivers in the area can take you to the ferry dock for 15 LE, although they may ask for 60. If you need a place on the West Bank this is it.
AC unit was loud
Shower had no pressure.

Everything right from the start was flawless!
I truly and really recommend this hotel, since the receptionist owner was so careful and helpful with me. And thank to him , I could reach all the main historical places, without loose precious time.
Nothing. All was perfect!
4.4
The staff was very helpful and Refaat is willing to support all the time
The property is far from down town so you must have a car.
4.4
The politeness and friendliness of the manager.
Lot of mosquitoes and water wasn't available always.
