Good Pub with comfortable Rooms and friendly staff.

Excellent Pub with Rooms on the outskirts of Chesterfield. Well priced rooms in a good Pub Restaurant. Plenty of Car Parking and helpful and friendly staff.

Brilliant staff, almost everything else very poor, so not recommended.

The staff were absolutely brilliant: cheerful, friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, and there were good sized good quality towels. There were plenty of sockets and USB power points in the room.

Apart from the brilliant staff, this was a very poor product. The hotel is actually a chain pub in a dreary suburban location. It is typical of it's type - no charisma and and a very negative ambience, aside from the cheerfulness of the staff. Someone must have been paid to design the pub interior; they certainly did not earn their money. The food was, to say the least, extremely disappointing, though we heard that there were problems with new staff in the kitchen that night. The breakfast was marginally better than the evening offering, but still not up to much. The room was beyond minimalist - positively austere, and the fittings cheap and nasty. To be fair, there was a kettle and an adequate hospitality tray. One good point was a bath as well as a shower, though the the bathroom boasted a floating toilet seat. The hotel area of the property was superficially clean, but closer examination revealed some less than squeaky clean areas and some stains (including a discomforting red stain in the carpet of our room.) The bathroom seemed to have been wiped over rather than cleaned. Although the basic price was reasonable, the total cost including room, evening meal and breakfast was way above what what the location and the poor offered merited. Overall, this property cannot be recommended.

Noisy row between couple in adjoining room that went on for 2 hours. Loud TV in another adjoining room.

Good location for what we had planned. Great nights sleep. Super comfy bed and pillows. Clean. Good value. Good breakfast.

On arrival manager was on his own in bar so 25 minute wait to get served and unable to check in until he had staff arrive. Smooth check in after this delay.

A very good place to stay, stayed to visit a friend and felt very welcomed straight away.

Very spacey room, include a desk, bed and sofa for extra comfort. Storage space provided and overall excellent.

Wi-Fi kept cutting out but overall, a good place to stay!

Excellent hotel

Staff were really friendly, rooms were nice and good pub available next door.

Did get locked out of our rooms after getting in late from a wedding. Fortunately staff were still on site to resolve it.

Great Rooms - Did not expect them to be so lovely!!

I did not have breakfast as I had to leave early for work. The rooms were beautiful. Very Clean Comfortable Great Stay!

brilliant stay, good location, definitely recommend

the hotel section was comfortable and quiet. the food was really good all staff friendly and efficient

found the pub section a little noisy whilst having an evening meal. mainly unsettled children. I realise it’s a popular pub and it’s good that business is great.

Nicely renovated room. Good distance from the main pub. Room was very clean.

I think there's an airlock in the central heating system which caused a lot of banging early in the morning. Also some guests were very noisy late at night returning to their rooms.

As nice as the rooms are, and the staff, who really were nice and very helpful, the noise was a real nightmare.

it was clean, well decorated, the rooms were nice and airy, plenty of space. They provided us with decaf tea and coffee when they realised that’s what we drank. The staff were lovely and very accommodating.

The noise. First night we were woken at 6.15am by very loud banging that we thought was washing machine spinning, but we’re told it was the shower. They did move us to another room, which was just as nice, but this time it was the noise outside until way past 12.30am , then in the following 2 mornings at about 7 am a constant whining/ squealing noise. I suspect the showers again.

We've stayed here on several trips for family get-togethers. Staff and facilities always great

I'd asked for our room to be ready earlier as we had a long journey and wanted a rest before wedding we were attending----that was done....brilliant

Bathroom was spotless. A rail in the bath would have been helpful as they didn't have a walk-in shower

Our entire experience was thoroughly enjoyable, thank-you.

Room clean, spacious and comfortable. Food well cooked and promptly served, and excellent value for money. Staff were pleasant, well-mannered and always eager to please. Parking so easy and convenient. Extensive drinks availability and all reasonably priced.

Hard to fault anything but weren’t aware that our 7.30 table reservation required a very swift menu selection..
