We stayed at the Sea Cliff Resort & Spa for a week in July and August 2023 for 5 nights and 6 days. We had a great time overall, but there were a few things that could be improved.
What we loved:
- The resort is absolutely stunning, with amazing views of the Indian Ocean.
- The staff are super friendly and helpful, albeit a bit slow at times.
- There are a ton of activities to keep you busy, like mini golf, a kids club, and water sports.
- The deluxe rooms are spacious and comfortable, with balconies that look out over the ocean. We recommend staying in a room in wing D, as they are newer and have better views. We upgraded to one on site by paying the difference in tariff.
- The baby sitting service is great, and the staff are very organized.
- There are quite a few bars spread across the resort, so you can always have a drink at the beach, pool, or while playing mini golf.
- A special shout-out to Tina at the front desk, Sakina at the kids club, and Amina and Hamida at the spa. They all went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
Things to watch out for:
- The restaurant service can be slow and sometimes inattentive.
- The food options could be more varied. There is only one restaurant, and each meal is a buffet.
- If you are a vegetarian, be sure to remind the chef each day about your dietary restrictions. Vegetarian (eggless) options were quite limited in the buffet.
- The spa's interiors could be updated, but the therapists are great.
- The Wi-Fi connection is poor, which can be a problem if you need to work or stay connected.
- The superior king rooms that we initially booked were a bit dated and could use some updating.
- Be sure to wear waterproof shoes or beach shoes when swimming in the ocean, as there are sea urchins and pebbles on the seabed that could hurt your feet.
Overall, we had a great stay at the Sea Cliff Resort & Spa. We would definitely recommend it to couples and families looking for a beautiful resort with a variety of activities. However, if you're looking for a resort with a wide variety of food options, superior service quality, or excellent Wi-Fi connection, you may want to consider another resort.
About Zanzibar - It is a beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania with a rich history and culture. It is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its stunning beaches, delicious food, and friendly people.
If you're planning a trip to Zanzibar, be sure to bring cash in USD or Tanzanian Shillings (the local currency). You'll need about $1,500 for a 5-day trip.
Kayaking: Kayaking is a great way to explore the beautiful coastline of Zanzibar. You can get free kayaks from most resorts and hotels
Spice Farm Tour: Learn about local agriculture and culture
Stone Town & Prison Island: Visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site, see the turtles and see the markets
Jozani Forest: See the critically endangered Zanzibar red colobus monkey
The Rock Restaurant: Enjoy amazing views and drinks
Safari Blue and Sand Bank: Swim, snorkel, and sunbathe on a sandbank

Every staff member at this hotel was really friendly and a joy. Always greeting guests with a smile and willing to do their best to make a guest's stay enjoyable.
The evening entertainment was really good.
The location is a bit far but it means you can enjoy the resort more.
The beach is small and a few minutes walk to get to.

Everything: the food, the service, and the breathtaking Ocean-view. .
Being the Christmas season, the rate was extremely high.

lots of activities for us to do. The food was great. The staff were very friendly
for as much money as we paid, they need to either fix or upgrade their equipment. Our bathroom door was so rusty and the tub wasn’t draining properly.

the pool was friendly, the ocean view was amazing , the food was good
no proper beach , toilet had an issue and there was a damp smell from my bed

friendly staff.
plastic ‘event tags’ on the wrist for five days, awful piped Christmas music everywhere, and terribly slow food service - unless you want to dive into the expensive buffet over and over again.

beautiful place, very friendly staff, lots of possibilities for trips, relaxing and entertainment

The smile, the ambiance, the food, the professionalism, the cleanliness of the rooms and the compound, and the kindness demeanor of the entire staff especially Rehema and Rose
The live band lacked enthusiasm and the gig to keep the residents on their toes - they were a total "let down"

I like the location and environment was good and food was very delicious, also WiFi was Good.
I didn't like behavior of some of the staff they're gossiping the guest by their language without knowing that some guest understand well Swahili and some expecting money from guest. and the last things in my room wasn't have toothbrush and toothpaste I called reception they didn't picked the call until I go down but the problem was cleared.
