We were in a room outside like an annexe. Very comfortable and close to the parking. Basic room but adequate. Could do with a little freshening up.
No where to sit and have a drink. The Pizza Express is next door so that worked out well.

The lady on reception was very polite and welcoming.
I think that for the price paid, you should expect a little bit more. I understand that we booked a Saturday so the price does go up but this hotel was on par with a budget hotel. The room was tiny, I was actually shocked! The area of the property (the town) was a bit run down as well. Clubs and bars right next door so drunk people everywhere (which so know isn’t the hotels fault) but I wouldn’t stay here again to be honest.

In centre of town with dedicated private car park at rear. Pleasant staff and rooms fine.
Archaic shower arrangement requires degree in tap temperature mixing.

Staff were excellent - cheerful and helpful
The whole proposition - very minimal and fairly soulless. Costs driven to the minimum - definitely faded glories…but reasonable value for money.

location good. parking good
bathroom and shower poor

Lovely staff and cosy room with clan bathroom, easy to find and breakfast was great
Room was a bit tired and overlooked overflowing bins and the car park

Interesting hotel and history.
Not exactly a dislike but worth knowing… front ground floor is a pizza express so entrance is to rear with hotel rooms on 1st/2nd floor mostly to rear and in adjacent coach house and stables. My room a bit cramped and had a pretty awful view of a fire escape and delapidated building. No restaurant just a breakfast room.

Wonderful stay with a great room. Breakfast was delicious with well cooked breakfast from ordering the day before and then lovely continental options available. Unfortunate other guests got drunk and made noise in the night but thankfully staff and the police dealt with this as quickly as possible.
4.1
The situation in the town, very quiet although central. Breakfast was very good. Reception was very helpful and friendly.
The towel rail was cold (and the switch to turn it on/off was not working), the air extractor in the bathroom didn't work so the shower created steam in the bedroom. The duvet was not 'winter weight', and so we asked for a blanket. We were given another duvet to put on top so we were warm enough in the end!
