The staff was awesome and the place had so much character in Portuguese mountains.

Before speaking about the property, the hosts, professor Francisco and Amalia, are such amazing people. we directly felt at home because of them and they became our family really.
we stayed in many places before but this was our highest ranking one. we stayed two weeks here and we’re going to come back definitely. the house is very cosy and beautiful and there’s everything you need for your stay, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor barbecue and pizza oven, fireplaces inside, great central heating that made a huge difference in our stay, comfy rooms.
the house is in a very calm village with great neighbors. there’s a grocery store few minutes walk from the house and many nice surrounding villages and towns.
words won’t finish about this place, come here and enjoy this place, nothing will let you down!

The owners were so amazingly gracious, helpful, responsive and provided the most wonderful assortment of homemade/homegrown/local: bread, cheeses, chourizo, olive oil, lemons/oranges, eggs, ginjinha [best we tasted], wine, cake, fresh herbs and even milk and butter. We were able to make a fire each night in the huge kitchen fireplace, so cozy. The entire house is a most unique and admirable testament to Portuguese history, stone work and handicrafts! Very spacious, and larger than it appears in the pictures; picturesque dishes and crockery galore. Lots of hot water, great water pressure. The TV/stations played English programs and we had no problem with the internet. Pretty gardens. The open garage able to charge an electric vehicle. Unique outdoor BBQ and oven, although the weather was too cool for us to take advantage of it. Very quiet and private, yet interesting towns and sites within 1.5 hr radius. The owners told us about the Obidos Chocolate Festival and Rio Maior Tasquinhas food festival happening during our stay - so tasty and fun!
Not a problem, but being a stone house with small windows, the natural light and heat are diminished - the owners came right away to adjust the heat. Make sure on your travels to stop if you wish to get groceries from a larger supermarket.

The house is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The gardens and barbecue area are comfortable with many places to relax. Inside it's like you walk into a family home as everything you could possibly expect in your holiday home is there.
The hosts were extremely friendly, helped us find nice places to visit in the surrounding area and made us feel at home. As a present they shared some good and drinks with us (the cake is the best we had during our trip in Portugal).
We'll definitely visit again!

Absolutely everything was great. The place itself was like from the fairy tale and hospitality of the owners was fantastic. The house is lovely and located in the quiet rural location which helps to relax and enjoy real Portugal not flooded with tourist.
There was no such thing. It was difficult to find any flaws in the overall conditions
