A place with huge potential, which has seen better days.

Situation, view, breakfast, Margarida who looked after us brilliantly, comfortable accommodation.

Grounds and exterior poorly maintained. Hugely understaffed. No decaf coffee. No bar. Very rowdy, late night party, many of the attendees were non residents. Were not warned in advance that payment was to be made in cash - difficult as we were staying 10 nights.

Great value for price!

Amazing view, nice pool, big rooms, several options at breakfast.

Bed very small in length (we are both 1.60m and barely fit). Location is isolated, barely any restaurants or grocery shops nearby. Terrain a bit spooky at night.

A magnificent place to unwind and explore Peneda Gerês

Staying at Quinta do Rocha was great and the place itself looks as amazing as in the pictures. We had a huge room, a lovely terrace and a bathtub / jacuzzi. Everything was very charming, clean and comfy. The breakfast was very tasty and with a big variety, many things were from the quinta or regional. When the sun was out, we had it outside overlooking the quinta. A perfect start into the day! The owner is such a sweet soul, making sure nothing is missing and will happily tell you more about the house, estate, region, etc. in Portuguese. We were the only guests and what seemed a bit spooky at first, turned into feeling like the estate belongs to us. ;-) We had a very special stay, as we had everything to ourselves, could pick an orange or two, sit by the pool or use the kitchen/fridge too (but preferred to go to the restaurant). Wifi works, maybe not in all parts of the house but for us it wasn't a problem. The evenings on the terrace were always very peaceful with a lovely sunset and general a great view. It's a perfect place to unwind. We stayed 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer. Peneda Gerês is not far away and if you don't mind a bit of driving, you can do some impressive hikes and explore some nice towns and villages nearby. I'd recommend staying at Quinta do Rocha and get an authentic and very special experience in a great place.

I guess it's difficult to arrive without a car and it will take a while to reach restaurants or supermarkets on foot but maybe it's a region where people only travel by car anyways?! The owner speaks only Portuguese, so communicating might be a bit tricky but he can call people who speak English and there's always the internet. :-)

Beautifully renovated buildings in a gorgeous landscape. Friendly staff, everything spotlessly clean, and wonderful breakfast with view over the valley. Great facilities with a swimming pool, gardens, billiards table, and ping pong.

Staff was very nice and helpful. The place was above expectations - enormous area with everything you can ask for, a pool, a football field, fountains all around, beautiful view, amazing breakfast and even a cute goat asking to be pet! I will comeback for sure.

Douze points! Better than we could have expected. A hidden gem in a beautiful part of Portugal.

Located in the beautiful hills of Geres area, Quinta do Rocha exceeded our expectations. We arrived late in the evening, around 22.30. It had been a long of drive and we had missed dinner. The owner -and some guests- were waiting for us and we were treated to some cheeses and bread with a home made wonderful natural red wine. And a digestive before we checked in. The quinta itself is amazing. The pool is super clean and there's a small soccerfield for those who want to play ball. Breakfast was an event, it's that good. In short: Brilliant location, the kindest people you will meet and superb quality from room to breakfast. We had booked only one night, but will be back for sure.

Go for it. It's perfection

If are considering it, don't think about it and go for it. I know the reviews look too good to be true, it's not. Totally worth it. The view is breathtaking, think Vintage/Rustic with a dash of Modern. Senhor Rocha was simply the best host. We came in very late but he was constantly calling to monitor our movement and even welcomed us with Bagaço. The breakfast was sublime, fresh orange juice and jam straight from the vineyard. Ohhh yeah, there is a vineyard also. If you need to get out of the city life. I definitely recommend

The lightning and the Wi-Fi but I guess this is a function of the stone-like room vibe. Wasn't an issue for me, because I went to get out from the city life.

Best breakfast I have ever had, and they served it at 12:00pm because we woke up late! Amazing in every sense, I cannot recommend this property enough. By far and large the best place I have ever booked!

Location, breakfast, pool, the garden, airco, the sweet and funny guy at breakfast tried to make us laugh and was very helpfull

Grumpy staff except the sweet guy at breakfast, also known as the cousin which was very funny and sweet! The staff seemed very helpful at first but when our car broke down in the middle of nowhere we called them for help and they said they were busy having dinner. They where constantly in a bad mood and cursing all day. Overall we felt uncomfortable. Wifi isnt great.
