Attractive building and surroundings. Large rooms. Plenty of parking
Unforgivable for this price to give us a room with no air conditioning and which was boiling when we walked into it. Not aired or covered from sunshine. One of the hottest few days of the year. Stayed awake all night

The hotel is situated in its own extensive grounds. It is thus very quiet. It has been fully renovated and a modern atrium was added to the front. It has a large, free car park with an e-charging station.
The staff were all highly trained and very pleasant. The main restaurant is spacious, allowing undisturbed conversation. The food was very good and the rooms were very comfortable and well equipped.
The guests are encouraged to wander through the entire structure, which is quite fascinating.

The property has been very well decorated with a great attention to detail. We were shown to our room which we did not like mainly because we found it to small. Without any fuss we were shown to another room at no extra cost. We had some relatives staying nearby and they came over and the games rooms were a great success. We had two meals in the bar area one just myself and my wife and the second with all of the family. On both occasions the food was excellent.

We slept really well as the bed was fantastically comfy. Dinner was very nice in the Refectory, breakfast in the same room was excellent. Our dog had a fantastic time as there is a huge field where she could run off lead, I will mention she has excellent recall so wasn't loose and charging with wild abandon. We had a light lunch, again, excellent, the patio was lovely to sit out on despite the wasps best efforts to attack us!
The wasps but hey, who does?! They are part of our eco system so we have to grin and bear them and clearly they loved Stanbrook Abbey as much as we did

The decor throughout the hotel, comfortable bed and the staff were friendly, Reception food for the funeral was interesting, tasty and attractively presented. Gardens and outside areas excellent. Nice touch having fresh milk in the fridge and lovely products in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
Could not turn either of the hot taps on in the bedroom wash basins. (Forgot to mention at reception while checking out.)

Building beautiful breakfast nice
Having noisy windows banging .Having to wait nearly an hour and a half for an evening meal as there was another function in another room as in the main refectory dinning room there was only another 3 tables occupied this was not exceptable
