Magical Garden Wonderland

This place is an peaceful oasis on the wild, windy coast of western Denmark and we felt very lucky to have been able to stay here. Let’s get to the many reasons why: 1. The top of the list is Ole’s beautiful garden, which is filled with flowers, plants, birds, fountains, and multiple sitting areas thoughtfully designed to allow you to sit in the sun or shade, as you wish. The smell from the lilacs and other flowers was absolutely heavenly. 2. We were able to charge and store our e-bikes in the garage where they were safe and dry. This is a big positive for touring cyclists. 3. The whole apartment also smelled of flowers that had been lovingly cut from the garden and placed in a vase on the table. 4. Ole had so many treats waiting for us, we couldn’t believe it. The fridge was filled with eggs, bread, deli meats, butter, jam, orange juice, and condiments perfect for a very nice breakfast, all free. He also provided coffee and tea, and chocolates. 5. There was beer and wine for a very low price to purchase, and local jams and oils as well. 4. The apartment was very tastefully decorated with reminders of the sea and real plants (not plastic) everywhere. 5. The bedding was of the highest quality and the mattress cover made it feel like one big bed instead of two. We slept like the dead. 6. There is a grocery store 180 meters from the house that makes delicious traditional Danish rolls and cookies. My husband and I both have a horrible sweet tooth. They made these homemade crispy cookie sandwiches with a layer of creme in-between and then dipped in chocolate. Oh, my goodness gracious. 6. Last but not least, Ole invited us to have a glass of wine in the garden where we spoke about the wonders of life. This, he said, was what “hygge” was all about. 🥰

The apartment is located in a historic old house that has been renovated and tastefully furnished. At the same time maintaining the atmosphere of the old house. Using these rooms created a cozy and homely feeling.

Everything was so traditional danish! Big place, comfortable beds, lovely kitchen and of course breakfast! We will absolutely come back.

Little too noisy floor when you walk around apartment ;) We've been with little baby, and you know...you have to catch him around.

Embracing true Hygge spirit at B&B Villa Filsø

After having been a few times in all areas of Denmark, I think that a person who decides to take a trip to Denmark should stop here at least for one night. The best bed and breakfast in the whole country (value for money deserves a rating of 20, not just 10). You will find the real Hygge spirit and you will feel very good. Super Ole, your garden is a paradise. Next time I'll know where to stop. Tusind Tak, Ciao Ole. Stefania, Italy.

Pure comfort and tranquility nearby magnificent coastal landscape

I stayed for 4 nights, all of which were wonderfully comfortable and tranquil; the he best nights' sleep I have had in a long time. Since I was taking a mini-break to write my thesis, the peace and quiet and comfort was just what I needed. I could sit and watch the sunrise in Ole's gorgeous garden with my morning coffee, too. Simply lovely. Ole was the perfect host; he was attentive but not at all intrusive. Knowing I'm a vegan, he arranged a fruit and vegetable bowl for my arrival, and also offered me the use of a bike, so a super kind and considerate host, too. A short drive away there's vast stunning coastal landscape; I enjoyed long strolls along the majestic beaches, a must-do when visiting the area. A highly recommended stay at Ole's place. :)

Cosy and stylish

Everything. Generous and helpful host. Cosy little appartment, decorated with great taste. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful little garden. Free good organic food left for us. Bicycles we could use.
