The staff were wonderful. Wellington took great care of us on a wet stormy weekend in July. The restaurant was a lovely surprise, thought it may not live up to the aesthetics but the food and atmosphere was great! Our breakfast spread was also impeccable with delicious pastries, cheeses and fresh fruits. Not to mention the beautiful finishes and great local artwork scattered throughout Grande Provence. Worth a stay if you find yourself out in Franschhoek.
Hard to think of anything to top it. Perhaps the tasting room could have been a bit warmer and more comfortable. Not a problem in the summer months though I would imagine.

What a gorgeous property and guest house! We all absolutely loved our stay and were made to feel at home the moment we arrived, Wellington was amazing! He made sure we had everything we needed at all times.
Nothing.

No management… breakfast not good. Old facilities

Being attached to the wine farm
We were upstairs in loft space and would have preferred a outside space . The dogs were noisy at night

Very comfortable room with outdoor seating area. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We were the only ones staying and had a chance to view the upstairs rooms. These appear small on the website however would also be very comfortable.
Highly recommended as a very comfortable place to stay. The location is reasonably close to the main street however most may prefer to drive in and out.
Will definitely return to Grande Provence.
The rate was advertised as Continental breakfast only. We were pleasantly surprised to be offered hot breakfast. Had we known earlier, we would have booked for the other 4 nights stay.
Minimal lighting in the coffee station in the room.
Very difficult to find any fault with Grand Provence accommodation.

Our favourite spot in Franschhoek. We've been many times and it never disappoints. Cosy and luxurious, we love it.

The TV unit did not work properly even after a very helpful foh staff came to assist us. The air conditioning system was out of order in our unit.

Breakfast was very good and tasty - quantity was more than enough.
Bed was perfect and comfy.
Accommodation and the venue itself is absolutely stunning and we felt at home in the lounge with the fire place.
Nitpicking here but the pillows are to soft for my liking but really not a game changer at all.

The breakfast was sumptuous and generously prepared by Wellington who was always willing to go the extra mile, even warming milk for our morning coffee in the room. From the delicious fresh fruit to the best muesli that I have ever tasted to the hot breakfast and a variety of freshly baked scones etc- Could not ask for more

The property was very nice but at that price point even though South Africa has power problems the property had no alternative power so we could not even make a cup of coffee. Load sharing is not new in South Africa so this is unacceptable.

Breakfasts were very nice, cosy and relaxed.
The beds were comfy and large
The restaurant on the estate was very good.
Wellington and the staff were very helpful
There was plenty of space and the terrace was very useful
The wifi was very flaky despite the load shedding
The TV did not work
There was a bit of mould on the shower ceiling
No room service after 8.00pm
the patio furniture was a bit shabby - a sun bed on the private terrace would be nice

An amazing location and such a wonderful place to stay. The Owners cottage was so relaxing and the welcome from Wellington and his team was wonderful.
A generator to counter the Load Shedding would have been a bonus.

Amazing staff. Wellington is a legend. Very cool location. Very quite and extremly private. If you wanna stay in Franschhoek I can highly recommend this small, quiet place.
If you are on a remote work trip be aware of the power cuts, as internet gets cut off. But the hotel said they are working on getting a stronger generator to get through the cuts.

Grande Provence is a perfect place to stay in Franschoek. It is very quiet and peaceful. Having breakfast in our own terrace every morning was exceptional. The views and the whole compound is beautiful. There are two nice restaurants - one casual and one for fine dining. There is also nice playground for children. You can also enjoy art in Grande Provence. The staff is very helpful and polite. All perfect!
Wish we could have stayed longer...

Personalised cooked breakfast with continental buffet too. Picturesque location. 24hr security on front gate to the site. Complimentary wine and extras in the restaurant for being a hotel guest. Restaurant and wine tasting (one of the better ones in Franschhoek) located on site.
Staff had limited advice on the local area (activities, restaurants etc.). Barking dogs somewhere nearby at night. Thunder bugs inside when it rained. All minor things though.

The Angels room was warm and cozy for rainy day and was well equipped. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We both commented how we would love to see the place in the summer when the trees are full of leaves.
