The overall accommodation for the elderly, or the disabled is unbeatable. This venue is ideal for exactly this niche market but not limited to that: The everyday traveller looking for a well-located and beautiful villa will find this a delight as well! The layout of the rooms and spaces are well thought out and functional, especially for a wheelchair-bound traveller. There are no 'step-overs' at any of the doorways leading to the villa, nor anywhere in the villa.
Amenities provided at the villa are also great - from large fridge with freezer, to gas cooktop, to chilled and hot drinking water dispenser. All cutlery, dishes and saucepans are also provided. There is also a top-loading washing machine (and detergent) if you so wished to do your laundry at the villa.
Location-wise, it is only a short couple of hundred metres of walking to the newly opened ICON MALL SANUR which is a multi-storey shopping mall with brand names and local marques alike. The main street Jalan Danau Tamblingan is also rich with all manner of shopping opportunities as well as for services like massage, laundry, hair salons, money changers etc. Plenty of great restaurants, cafes and drinking holes along with local warungs are also abundant along this main street, the easily-reached Sanur beach strip, and at nearby areas. Convenience stores (CircleK, IndoMart, etc) are right outside once you've accessed the main street.
Caretakers are availed in the mornings and late afternoons to look after the villa, pool, and rooms. They diligently clean up after you, and will attend to your query or specific requests expeditiously. Polite, respectful and mindful of guests, these caretakers also can arrange for inhouse meals or other services if required, at extra cost.
Especially available for the elderly and or disabled, this villa caters quite specifically to such travellers because it provides extra amenities for them! Finally, the hosts are wonderful, communicative and responsive!!
***Although the following sound like harsh critiques, they are almost inconsequential and verge on nitpicking for the betterment of the villa, bar the issue with the water pressure/plumbing***
Access to the villa with a wheelchair can be a little tricky with private roads and alley pavings that are not quite level. These areas are also not very well lit. Extra caution has to be taken for elderly walking in these areas.
In the villa itself, the plumbing seems a tad lacking: some sinks and shower stalls barely had any pressure to have a proper wash with. Where functional, it was just enough to perform your ablutions.
Because of said water pressure/plumbing issues, it was almost impossible to have a bath even if wanted to, having to wait a fairly long time to fill the beautiful self-standing baths. The pressure also contributed to the poor availability of hot water, I suspect.
Although comfortable, the bed in one of the rooms (Rm1) squeaked and sounded like it was about to collapse in the middle: an easy repair I would think.
For ease of access for wheelchair-bound travellers, all bedroom access doors and ensuite doors are wooden double opposing sliding ones (hung and railed from above), with hefty wooden blinds hung behind the doors. The sliding action of these doors are mostly stuck or not smooth in operation and consequently rattle the heavy wooden blinds every time these sliding doors are used, causing a mild racket, especially for toilet breaks in the middle of the night. Replacing these blinds with a good heavy sunblock curtain system hung from the wall would easily improve things.
Finally, some better lighting options with dimming would improve the wonderfully capacious rooms' atmosphere as they were quite dimly lit (especially in Rm1).
