A superb stay with great hosts. If returning to Wanaka would not consider anywhere else.

Noelene and Bill are utterly fantastic hosts provide a wealth of local advice and general insight into life in Wanaka. Apartment was excellent with great views of Wanaka and the surrounding mountains. Breakfasts were delightful and prepared with such care and thoughtfulness.

Nothing - apart from having to leave to travel to next destination!

Exceptional accommodation, comfort and generous hospitality.

Noelene and Bill, the delightfully gracious owners of Kauri House met us with such a lovely warm welcome. The attention to detail at this accommodation reflects the owner's careful consideration and thoughtfulness for their guests. A heated room on arrival was very much appreciated. The addition of electric blankets provided further warmth at night. Beautiful amenities and facilities were available. The bottle of wine in the fridge was a generous and lovely touch. Their scrumptious, homecooked/homegrown gourmet breakfast was a huge delight each morning. Exceeding all expectations in comfort, cleanliness, hospitality and genuine kindness. We valued their historical lessons and acknowledge that both Noelene and Bill are deeply respected members of their community. Our beautiful hosts ensured that our stay was pleasant and memorable. We will cherish out time at Kauri House for a lifetime. Thank you both for your friendliness and hospitality.

Perfect stay with a perfect view

Scrumptious and delicious breakfast. Excellent hospitality from the host. View was magnificent, especially when we were blessed with snow fall in September.

Road leading towards the home is quite narrow & steep. But this home is worth the drive.

Lovely hosts, breakfast provided, views

The hosts were lovely, had great advice on the area and provided a cooked breakfast. Apartment has view over Wānaka. This is why I assume the rating of 9.8. We were disappointed with this accommodation and expected more from a 9.8 rated property.

The property is set up high above Wanaka. The driveway is steep, narrow and not maintained so it’s very rough. The apartment and furnishings are dated, Water pressure to shower terrible, tv small - not a smart tv, bed dips to middle. I looked again at older reviews to see why the 9.8 but each one mentions the hosts being lovely and breakfast which must be more important to some guests than the property itself which is understandable. I guess it depends on what you are looking for

Very happy with our stay.

The apartment was extremely clean, spacious and well appointed. It has a superb view. The hosts were lovely and offered a beautiful breakfast. We will be back!

The shower head might need replacing but not a big deal.

A beautiful place with a great view

Bill and Noelene are excellent hosts. From the detailed driving instructions to the property emailed to us a few days before our arrival, the wonderfully furnished premises, the great suggestions to hikes around the area, the delicious breakfast served every morning and the beautiful view from the balcony. It was a great stay😄

Highly recommended

Breakfast was fantastic, trout served one morning, caught by 'Bill' our host the previous day.

Driveway, a bit hard to find at first then very steep but the view over Wanaka is worth the climb.

Simply a perfect stay in every way- one of the best ever

Where do I start- amazing breakfasts, including freshly caught trout, great coffee, the most amazing view, the hosts are so friendly, and helped my wife carry her bag as she had been ill- really this place is a jewel in every way

The drive in is a bit challenging but okay provided you take it slow, but the views make it so worth it

Wonderful stay and definitely recommend.

Breakfast was wonderful. Panoramic views were spectacular. Very peaceful and an excellent hostess.

Only problem is the access road, but as we knew in advance this didn’t bother us. Road is being upgraded this year.

Kauri House is a Special find!

A large apartment with a stunning bird’s eye panoramic view of Wānaka. Don’t be discouraged by its location away from the lake or the steep driveway, it is a gem. Noelene and Bill are delightful and their full English breakfast is delicious. It was a special treat to have salmon that Bill caught the previous day and Noelene’s homemade plums and peaches. We felt privileged to be invited into their home for a tour of there unique and beautiful home.

Exceptional

A really stunning place to stay with great views down to Lake Wanaka and across to the mountains. Only a few minutes drive from the lake shore. The apartment is large, comfortable and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony. Our hosts were very welcoming and their breakfasts were awesome.

Great location

Kauri house is a very comfortable apartment with spectacular views from the deck. It had everything we needed. The breakfasts brought up each morning by our friendly hosts were supurb.

The driveway up to the house is a little rough and steep.

Amazing place with the best views. Very kind and friendly hosts. The breakfasts were the best that we have had in any accomodation,highly reccomend. We even recieved fresh caught salmon and trout. Loved having robes to relax in and a complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Very homely with excellent extra touches. Will definitely return. A must stay. Thankyou 😀

Exceptional

Noelene is a heartful and caring host…. Preparing every morning an outstanding breakfast with freshly prepared omelet, fish, vegetable and fruit with yoghurt. The flat was amazing with a high degree of immediate comfort and feeling home and at the same time functionally fully equipped. The view over Lake Wanaka and into the mountains is stunning. A true highlight of our journey……a stay is highly recommended.

A memorable stay!

Noelene and Bill were incredibly welcoming hosts. They are true Wanaka locals and have fantastic knowledge of the area. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. To top it all off, the home-cooked breakfast each morning is better than any cafe! Highly recommend.

A car is needed to access the property and the apartment is up a flight of stairs.

Very special place in Wanaka

This is a very special place to stay. The views are spectacular, the accommodation is very comfortable and unique, and the cooked breakfasts are out of this world. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Kauri House Apartment.

Wonderful views, delightful accommodation and the cooked breakfast was delicious. Appreciated the water, nibbles and bottle of wine. Wished we could have stayed longer. Our hosts were lovely and they showed us their own house which was very nice of them. 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend Kauri House Apartment.

Just a brilliant spot, once I got there, I didn't want to leave, be back again next time I'm in town

Super views out over Wanaka and the lake, only a short drive from town. Well appointed room with everything you needed. Brilliant Breakfast. Clear instructions on how to find the apartment. So nice to have good quality towels and sheets, excellent attention to detail.
