We had an amazing stay in this accommodation. The room was clean and beautiful. There were only a couple of rooms in the house, so the atmosphere of the whole place was peaceful. The host was very friendly and they served good breakfast with beach view.
Some other food options are a short walk away (try "juice and curry") and bigger errands must be made by tuktuk, which is not a drawback of the accomodation. If you don't expect to have many dining options and activities, and only want to relax for a couple of days this is the perfect place.

A lot of good things but the best thing was Thomas, the host. He was so kind and helpful from the moment the booking was made. Arranged transport, breakfast and cooked a night for us (great cook!).
The location it self is great if you want some quietness. Transport to a more lively area us about 10/15 minutes away.
For me and my girlfriend it suited our needs!
Nothing notable

This hotel and beach was so fantastic that we changed our trip in Sri Lanka to come back and stay for another 2 days at the end. The hotel was a perfect location. The rooms were really comfortable and the hotel a great space. Thomas was an amazing host making us feel so welcome and at home, he was so friendly. The breakfast was also fab. Definitely recommend this hotel and beach to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. We hope to come back. Tallala is a small place which we love for the quiet and secluded nature.

Fantastic hotel, stayed twice (see other review!)

Quiet and peaceful! The rooms are clean with beautiful view on the sea with sound of the waves, amazing place to rest. Almost everyday we had the beach only for us. The owner is so nice, he will help you for everything you need, he even offered us dinner one night. You have few restaurants around but then you need tuk tuk to reach main cities around.

Beautifully located on a very quiet beach. Thomas the owner is a delight to meet, incredibly helpful and an excellent chef. The lovely breakfast is served in the open air dining room adjacent to the beach

Highly recommend. Very high levels of quality and service throughout our stay and low cost for a feeling of a boutique hotel - the owner does a fantastic job hosting. Comfortable sea-facing rooms with incredible views directly onto beach and ocean and nice private balconies. Great breakfast with fresh juice, fruit, omlettes, delicious toast and jam, and fresh coffee. Free tea, coffee and bottled water at all times. The beach was the best we found in Sri Lanka - very peaceful with only a few guest houses and restaurants which blend in naturally beside the fishermen who still operate their traditional boats on the beach. A more relaxing place to spend time than the busier, more developed beaches.

Very cozy, home-like hotel by the beautiful, tranquil beach. We slept with open windows - literally on the beach. Thomas, the owner, is a very pleasant and kind man who always did his best to make our stay as good as possible. Staff is also very pleasant and cheerful. Outstanding hotel. Best choice to stay in Talalla and nearby area.

Thomas the owner was a fantastic host, who always went out of his way to make your stay special. The breakfast was amazing and the best bread in sri lanka. Nice quiet location and beach.

This was our favourite hotel in our whole trip, it is a really lovely hotel, we had the most amazing view from the second floor room. The whole ambience here was special, Thomas was just great, he made us lovely breakfasts, lots of coffee, he was always there to answer any queries you had. There is tea and coffee and a fridge in the communal area downstairs where you can help yourself 24/7 which is really nice.
We stayed 5 nights but just wished we had stayed longer, if we return to Sri Lanka we would not hesitate to book here again.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but be prepared there is a new hotel being built next door, we are really fussy about things like that but it really did not spoil our break there at all.

Its location is fantastic, rooms are great and all the facilities.
Owner is a great person. Visiting several hotels during our stay in Sri Lanka, this ranks number one even including 5star hotels. Real place to enjoy the best of the Sri Lanka.
Limit of our time there.

We were the first guests here after the long COVID closure. Operations were just getting started, so for example the restaurant was not yet open and a few things still needed to be done. However, it was all made up for by the beautiful and quiet location (we had the whole beach to ourselves) and very kind and nice owner who arranged for us a scooter and even cooked a lunch for us. Thank you Thomas

We booked for 1 day but ended up staying nearly a week. The rooms where amazing with fantastic sea view. I found myself waking up at sunrise to watch the sun rise from my balcony then headed down to the beach front pool to drink several cups of tea and read my book. The beaches are quite with very few people. Breakfast was really good. Staff and management where super helpful and super nice.
Having to leave.

Easily one of the best places we travel to.
The guesthouse and the interior design of the rooms are decorated in a post colonial style which we liked.
The location is perfect. Right in the middle of the Talalla beach so that you can experience the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening. The Talalla beach might be a wonderful perk for the guesthouse but to be honest the host Thomas and his staff are the crown jewel of this place. With their hospitality and dedication to their guests they are creating a marvelous and welcoming atmosphere that makes it hard to leave this place.
If you want a tranquil and peaceful beach on which you can relax on it is our opinion that you found right spot.
If you want to party then you might search for a different place.
Simply nothing to complain about.

Exceptional breakfast from the owner - Thomas
He's been very helpful and hospitable during our stay, helped us to find transfer to our next hotel
Rooms are clean, with a picturesque view on the ocean, hot water is available at all times and AC is working fine
Location is incredible - beach is literally deserted, feels like more like a private beach
A great restaurant is located next door, and there are few more good ones along the beach
Nothing worth mentioning

Thomas and his staff are the absolute best. The location is to die for. The restaurant is fantastic
It was a little tired, grubby shower curtain. When I first arrived was a little disappointed but after two days of hospitality we were in love with it and overlooked the slight shabby ness. Will be returning for sure.

Rohe is so caring and kind. He made our stay here memorable. We enjoyed his delicious breakfasts and the pool side atmosphere. We had a wonderful view of the beach and felt as we were at home. Thank you Rohe . Thanks also to the other kind and friendly gentleman who helped me open my cocunut. I highly reccomend the hotel.

We loved the manager/host, very welcoming and accomodating, very informative and easy to talk to.
The fruit bowl and omlette with amazing fresh bread was delicious
Our bed was very comfortable, with an awesome sea view
Close by to a few different restaurants
Overall a lovely time
The shower regulating of temperature needs to be looked at
It's either very hot or cold
Often a bad smell coming up the drains or pipes
Would prefer a thicker lined curtain but that's personal preference
No access soft drinks and no water available
No fridge in the room

The welcome from manager Rohan was excellent and attentive, whilst owner Thomas was also very friendly.
A stylish hotel right on the middle of a pristine and uncrowded beach (tip - the sea is quite lively in the middle of the bay, so head for the sides).
I went for the room at the top which was very spacious and included it's own jacuzzi and swing chair on the balcony to enjoy the sea view from.
There's also a very nice swimming pool which is deceptively bigger than it looks.
Really enjoyed the breakfast, which included an enormous fresh exotic fruit salad.
The hotel doesn't always serve lunch/dinner so do ask for recommendations as not many other options nearby.
3.5
The restaurant and the food they prepare is amazing! The restaurant is a hidden gem (much better than the one we had before in 5 star hotels!) Further, they have great staff!
Would not recommend city view - way to much noise
The rooms are clean but can be updated
Too bad that there is a very busy road on one side - beach in front is great though
