Kind people in a true paradise location

Staff and management were very kind people and looked after us, no issue too difficult to solve. Food excellent and location spot on.

Perhaps a little ventilation in the restaurant when not able to eat on the sand (portable fan?)

Uneasy and no good food.

The fact that it is on the beachside is the only thing which kept us going.

There were ants, mosquitoes and other flies all over the room. Red ants were on the bed and my husband and I caught allergies. The food is not good, doesn’t even have many option.

Отличное место! Хозяин всегда на месте. Персонал очень внимательный, вежливый. Очень хорошее заботливое отношение к детям. Отличный пляж, вечером бегает много маленьких крабов. Пляж каждое утро чистят. Очень хорошая кухня. За время проживания в Шри-Ланке в разных локациях (более 3 недель) это самая лучшая кухня при гостинице! При гостинице есть свой тук-тук, что очень удобно – можно договориться заранее и съездить куда угодно. Его хозяин очень коммуникабельный, много всего знает, всегда предложит что-то интересное, поможет найти нужный магазин, договорится о скидке. Вообще вся территория гостиницы очень приятная, такая изолированная от внешнего мира. У нас был большой номер с двумя большими кроватями, прямо рядом с бассейном. Было очень удобно ходить в бассейн из номера. Хороший стабильный Wi-Fi. В бассейне очень теплая вода. Смело рекомендую как для пар так и для семьи с детьми.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Janu's Paradise and it exceeded all my expectations. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious rooms boast incredibly comfortable beds, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The exceptional culinary experience at the hotel's restaurant is worth highlighting. The food is delicious, and the chef's expertise truly shines through. I highly recommend trying their signature cocktail, Janu's Paradise Lovers – it's a delightful treat. The staff is dedicated to fulfilling every guest's desires, even accommodating unique requests like freshly roasted corn if you prefer it to boiled 😀 – a touch of personalized service that makes Janu's Paradise stand out. What sets this place apart is the hands-on approach of the owner, actively involved in both hotel and restaurant activities. This personal touch truly makes Janu's Paradise stand out positively from other hotels.

Right on the beach in a slightly quirky but comfortable guest house.

Moved from another guest house a couple of hundred metres away. This one was probably worse value for money [quite pricey for what it is] but it is still the one I would choose if I returned. Good room, quirky set up, nice restaurant. One obvious improvement would be putting fridges in the rooms.

Nothing really it was a pleasant stay. Perhaps a tad expensive for a modest guest house. Fridges please.

It is Paradise!

A wonderful homely stay for 4 nights, it is certainly located in Paradise! Immaculately clean throughout, room and all public areas, staff constantly ensuring standards throughout the day. The local breakfast is awesome, quality and quantity, the Western style is basic but of a high standard. Food for lunch and dinner was so good we had no desire to try anywhere else. Late afternoon a display of fresh fish, crabs, prawns and lobster is put on display for you to choose what you want, we tried everything in 4 days, cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. On our last night the restaurant was full so Janu arranged our own table literally at the waters edge, and entertained us with drinks and his company after our meal. A very proud man and rightly so of the business he has established, and with a lot of repeat western customers speaks volumes for how good it is.

A slight issue with road noise in the room during the day, but you don't come here to sit in your room! Night time is no problem, there is no road noise at the beach, but this is an issue with a lot of resorts throughout the country.

Although it is a budget hotel we were disappointed and moved to another hotel.

The restaurant on the beach, breakfast, the staff.

Power cuts, weak & intermittent WiFi, low water pressure in bathroom, grey sheets (originally white).

Super Lage, super Frühstück, tolles Personal ( zufrieden und entspannt) , tolle Küche und der Besitzer ( selbst Künstler, was man auch an vielen Details der Anlage ersehen kann) ist sehr aufmerksam, lässt keine Wünsche offen.

We really enjoyed to stay at Janu. He's a really nice and friendly person, we had a lot of fun there. The staf is also really nice and attentive. The food was amazing and the room was comfortable. We definitely recommend this place.

Amazing experience

Property is on the beach and well maintained. We had spacious family room opposite to pool. We enjoyed our stay of one day Enroute to Colombo from yala safari. Owner of property made sure to arrange good vegetarian options for us in breakfast.

Staff is friendly. The owner had 2 cute puppies 🐶. Great location, beachfront. The room was okay, clean. Sea food fried rice is a must try here. Room charges are acceptable. Recommend for anyone who wants to enjoy the ⛱️ under a budget.

The restaurant didn't provide a glass of water during the meals. we had to buy water bottles. I believe that providing a glass of water isn't a big deal when having meals in SL. It's okay to ask guests to buy water bottles when they ask for an addition to what given in rooms. Other than that, we had a great time here.

Ants all through the room, ac didn't work, WiFi didn't work, manager/owner yelled and belittled his staff in front of guests, he also yelled at sri lankan guests who I was having drinks with that was purchased off him. They packed up and left at midnight because he was so rude. He also stole my thongs. Never with I stay here again. Worst place in my months stay in SL Also ripped off with a massively high exchange rate No hot water

Perfect vacation

The best place we have visited in Sri Lanka. The ideal location is only 8 rooms - the ocean is 20 meters away. We lived in different rooms at Janus hotel (the best one is a family room) - a separate house. The best beach, the best view!)) The best food on the coast - grilled tuna - I have never tasted better in my life. Seafood is all great and fresh. Milkshakes are my son's love, he appreciated it) breakfasts are also very good! And the most important thing is the people - everyone who works in hotels - they just made our stay perfect - Janus himself, his brother Jeewana, all the employees of the hotel - thank you so much!! They always tried to help - everything was just perfect! We will definitely come back! In our last dinner near the ocean, a small miracle happened - baby turtles hatched from a clutch of eggs laid by turtle near the Janus hotel on the shore!)) it's incredible to let the babies go into the ocean)

Main road led right away and the train about 30m away bothered me personally.Breakfast waiter doesn't know the difference between an omelette and scrambled eggs. a refrigerator would be found in the room.
