Convenient stop on way north to Yorkshire, worth the deviation from the M1. Welcoming staff and modern facilities. Healthy breakfast available.

Great food at both dinner and breakfast and the basement restaurant is an impressive location. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable with a great range of real ales at the bar.
Room was very spacious with an excellent shower
The room we were in was noisy on the Sunday morning at 7am and we think this was due to the cleaners in the Tap room ( bar) below. There did not appear to be any formal check out to give feedback

Quality and comfortable room
Booked a table for dinner at 2030 - which is close of serving time - but was told to explain I am a hotel guest and it will be fine. Unfortunately, when I arrived in the restaurant waiting to be seated, I was ignored by several staff.

Friendly staff, good location, comfortable bed, big room, nice shower
Getting in and out of shower was dangerous. I'd suggest putting a mat in the bath and maybe a small rail. Also breakfast was great but tea was pre made in a flask. Would have preferred a pot.

We only stayed for the one night but found it to be very comfortable, surprisingly quiet, clean and a good place to base yourself if you are exploring the Peaks. The evening food was really tasty and filling, the only drawback was our breakfast.
Unfortunately the breakfast staff (not really friendly) were not quite 'with it'. Although the chef was calling for service several times but there was no-one around, when it did arrive, of course, the eggs were hard as they had been hanging around for a while. The table next to us were not really happy with their service either as their breakfast order had gone around most of the restaurant as the waiter didn't know who it was for?? All other staff were helpful and very friendly it was just this little niggle.

Big clean modern rooms
A bit nowhere-ville

Very comfortable, modern, clean hotel.
Friendly staff.
A better selection of teas at breakfast would be good. No earl grey tea.
A side plate to put the toast on.

Lovely room, great comfy bed and exceptionally clean.
The staff in the restaurant and bar were very young and very inexperienced. My Scottish accent seemed to confound them completely which at times felt a little rude. A bit more training required!

very quiet village location, family bedroom & large bathroom, superking comfy bed + sofa. meals nice and not overpriced. An excellent breakfast from attentive chef, lovely staff
it was too cold in the bedroom and bathroom. To be fair the weather was awful - snow and ice but the heating was inadequate. It went off altogether early evening and we had to get into bed to keep warm. booked 3 nights but left a day early as couldn’t face another chilly night

Welcoming staff, efficient, and very clean. Nicely presented, good ambiance, and quality finishes everywhere. Good parking, and access to arterial roads. Showers are fabulous, great plentiful supply of Hot water. Bed comfy and rooms clean, polished, well maintained. Big double rooms, plenty of space. Good breakfast selection.
Not ideal to get to from nearest Train station at Alfreton. Reliant on a Taxi, which I would strongly advise to pre- book, don’t chance on a Taxi being available, especially in the evening, it is hard to get to on foot - 5 miles from station.

Absolutely lovely place, loved the decor and the food was just stunning. Staff was very friendly and very pleasant. We will definitely be back.
There was just nothing to dislike.

as always. welcoming. friendly. home from home
it was extremely noisy around 2 am 230 am due to someone knocking extremely loudly trying to gain entry. we spoke about it and others said the same. their had been a wedding at a sister venue and wedding party were staying
4.5
Pretty much everything. Large comfortable rooms, great shower, light duvets with blanket if needed (I often have to strip out the duvet in hotels as they are usually too thick), room temperature was adjustable. Nice restaurant, good food, very pleasant helpful staff.
Pillows were too thick -a minor point
