Superb

The best is the staff, they are super welcoming and friendly, at times you feel to be a guest in their own home. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Very convenient place for staying if visiting the firefly sanctuary as they made very easy for us the tour and was well organized. Highly recommended overall

Very nice staff. They called a relative in the US who spoke English to arrange a firefly tour as our limited Spanish did not cover that topic. The room was very clean and safe parking for our car. Great restaurant recommendation.

The bed was a double not a queen.

Good place to stay for fireflies

Good location if you want to see the fireflies (note that the season is June-August). I spend one night in this hotel before hiking in Rio Frio, because it was the best accommodation option I found in the area. Everything was very clean, the owner was super-friendly and willing to help. Very good WiFi connection. Definitely recommend.

Because I was the only guest at that night, the owner had to go and buy groceries for the breakfast just for me, and the food was about half an hour late. Otherwise everything was very good.

The welcome could be more friendly. The hotel is relatively noisy. The complementary breakfast leaves you looking for another breakfast.

Good for an emergengy

The kitchen staff is very fiendly and helpful.

The booking.com rating (4 stars) is miss leading. I think the hotel deserves at very most 1-2 stars. The included breakfast consists of a coffee, milk, pastry and a small portion of fruit. But, you can buy for 60 Pesos Chilaquiles with eggs or for 80 Pesos Mixote. We could not pay with credit card because their terminal had reached the monthly acceptance limit. I suppose they have something like an evaluation version of the credit card payment termina. This caused 1 hour of delay to our planned departure because we didn't have cash with us. We had two rooms. Both room temperatures where really cold.

Nice place close to the firefly sanctuaries

The hotel doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is very nice on the inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but neat and clean, and the bed was fairly comfortable.

The beds are not queen sized - they're double beds. If you're sleeping with someone you might want separate beds.

Freezing cold hotel

Above all I appreciated how the staff which didn’t know one english word was trying to be helpful! Also I must give credits to breakfast which was delicious!

The fact they don’t have any heating whatsoever means you will come into freezing cold room! We had small portable heater with us which “saved” us but it was still below 20 degrees during night. This hotel is more than 2000 meters above sea level! Nights are very cold. We managed to survive the night with extra blankets and portable heating device but one of out kids got a cold anyway ...
