The anniversary cake was so delicious.
Friendly staff
Good service.
4.5 / 5.0

The location and view from the room
They are still trying to get it up and going. The hotel needs major up keep. Not value for money at all. The breakfast was below average
4.5 / 5.0
Food was good and well presented. However, noticed that the leftover food from the dinner is reused for breakfast. Traditional Sinhalese food are all were fab. However, traditional Tamil food such as dosa, sambar and chutney are nowhere close to what it should be. They should take this items out of the menu unless they find a chef to make them properly. Loved the omlette bar and kottu bar. They had a wide variety of food to choose from.
Nothing much to be honest. All were good.

very dirty room full of flies when we arrived.
complimentary fruits contained hairs
dirtyAC which got broken almost every day and there was dist and small rocks falling from it constantly.
teapot was ready to explode every time I used it.
staff is inprofessional but efforts are great
they can’t provide 2 keys from the room so it causes major inconveniences when you travel not alone.
pool is dirty and I would not ever used it
etc…

The hotel was the worst of the hotels I have ever stayed in in anywhere in the world
the shower water does not flow, horrible stuff comes back even though they unblocked it and the smell disgusting. No hot water to take shower had to complain twice .The security lock was broken we had to call room service at 10
At 10 in the night they had to put a new lock .when it was time to go to bed they had not changed bed linen found hairs on bed and make up and stains on sheets . We did not go to bed till late as they had to sort it out.
The food was terrible I had to pay a lot of money , ended up having a bowl of soup and some yogurt and fruit.
my friend ordered a bottle wine I had a glass and she did and left bottle behind .we asked room service today if they could bring us a or of tea this morning because my friend and I were down with a terrible cold they put the phone down on me . I had to go to the desk and make a complaint .
The biggest racket I found out as they tried it on me, they are over charging for drinks you never consumed . luckily
I checked bill , I was charge for beer gin cocktails
I am on cancer medication I do not take any alcohol , occasionally might have a glass of wine. someone has signed and added my room number.
my driver was speaking to the owner of the jewellery shop in the building , Apparently he was informed the staff
are up to no good, customers had complaint to him for been charged for drinks they had not consumed
.Most of people do not check bill.
The property was not clean . the been cheated by the staff
I will be writing to management

Calmness, location, staff service, food
Nothing to say

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The bed is a proper king bed and extremely comfortable. We did a romantic dinner for 2 which was fun, they seem to have promotions like that all the time. The grounds are well kept. The hotel rooms are huge, and there are loungers all over the property, and a nice sitting area to work in the shade. The sunsets in front of the property are amazing. We liked it so much we extended our stay. The hotel wasn't overly crowded which was a plus.
There were mosquitos in the room upon arrival. The hotel provided citronella plug ins and that took care of that.

Everything
Because the buffet system in the restaurant was not available .. Sometimes, we find it difficult to choose food according to the menu only, as the reservation was with full board .. It is preferable to mention this note to visitors before booking

Every single staff member was responsive to our needs and welcoming in a way to make us feel special. The resort layout is thoughtfully done to take full advantage of the shoreline. Excellent sea view from the room and the lovely poolside courtyard were very relaxing.
The spa closes at 5pm when the day's activities are not over yet. We wanted to be out and about in the sun, get back tired to end the day with a spa visit but couldn't. We did not find the resort's (semi) private beach ideal for leisurely walks or swims because of the pebble mixed coarse sand. However, the lovely Bentota Park beach was only 5-10 minute tuktuk ride away.

The bed is comfortable.
So many things.
Firstly, I am appalled that the hotel is still in business. It is very dirty.
The lobby and ground floor has been maintained nicely but it is not testament to how poorly maintained the rest of the property is.
It was pretty bad for our standards so we left after staying a night.
The lift is carpeted and not clean.
The walkway to the rooms.. there was a koi pond that was covered with algae.
The bathroom fixtures (sinks, taps, shower head) were rusty and had patina.. the material wasn't even brass.
At around 8am there were sounds of construction coming from a nearby construction site. I was in the left side of the hotel I won't know if the right side is affected. Sound proofing very bad.
The staff are poorly trained. Cannot rely on them and have to constantly check up on them to make sure they understand what you're asking for and that they have the correct information. I'm on holiday, I don't want to be cracking the whip on people.
All in all I wouldn't recommend at all...
