Pour une ou quelques nuits à Papeete

De accommodatie was flexibel. Ik kon de datum kosteloos wijzigen, nadat ik last minute had geïnformeerd dat ik een dag later zou komen in verband met een geannuleerde vlucht. Omdat ik een avondvlucht had, had ik deze plek voor de middag geboekt (zo kon ik mijn koffers kwijt, apparaten opladen en een douche nemen). De vrouwenzaal was schoon en rustig.

De medewerker van deze dag was vriendelijk, maar was er niet toen ik haar het meest nodig had: de taxi die ze voor mij had gereserveerd was meer dan 20 minuten te laat en het had mij stress kunnen besparen als ze dit in gaten had gehouden en even had nagebeld. Ik stond buiten te wachten met zware bagage en kon niet twee trappen naar boven om haar te zoeken. Het zou fijn zijn als er iemand is bij het uitchecken.

afordable and central accomodation

Located next to the central market of Papette and the ferry terminal of the city, the location of the hostel is perfect. Staff is friendly and welcoming and ready to help anytime needed. Cleaningless throughout the hostel is stunning. Affordable accomodation compared to the overrated prices you find in Tahiti. My room had lockers to keep my valuables safe, which I really apreciated. Fans located throughout the hostel helps fighting against the heat inside the hostel, as the wind hardly moves around.

I felt incredibly lucky as some rooms from the hostel have no window and mine did. Not having a windows was staggeringly more expensive. I believe having one should be like a basic right in an acomodation. Breakfast is poor and scarce, served from really early in the mornig (from 5,30). The safety of the lockers was highly questionable, as they can be easily opened. Although beds have curtains on each side, mine had only on one side, making a complete nonsense, and lacking some of the privacy. After check-out I was not allowed to keep using the facilities of the hostel, not simply sitting on a table using my computer, althought my flight was scheduled for midnight.

A noter l’accueil et la gentillesse du personnel. Hotel très bien placé à côté des ferries. Propre.

La chambre sans fenêtre sentait le renfermé.

La proximité avec les bateaux et le marché est correct

La wifi ne fonctionne pas, lieux impersonnels, pas forcément clean, la climatisation beaucoup trop froide, peu d’équipement..ce prix pour cette « qualité » est à revoir.

Personnel très sympathique mais de mauvais souvenirs

La situation très centrale, à côté du marché de Papeete et de l'embarcadère pour Moorea. Le personnel très sympathique.

Chambre individuelle avec climatisation mais sans aucune fenêtre. Interdiction de laver son petit linge soi-même.. il faut payer pour faire une lessive de 5kg. Du coup, quand il pleut beaucoup et que le linge est humide, absolument aucun endroit pour étendre un imperméable mouillé, ni une serviette de bain... Si vous le laissez devant le ventilateur du salon... on vous le vole ! ... donc dans la chambre ... sans aération ! Aucune terrasse, ni balcon, ni lieu pour fumeurs... il faut descendre dehors sur le trottoir .. qui n'est pas très sécure. Situation géographique certes centrale mais aussi très insécure !! Absolument aucune place de parking gratuit dans Papeete... (maximum 2h de parking payant !) donc si vous avez une voiture, il faut partir de Papeete de 8h à 17h !!!

Ok voor kort verblijf

24 uurs receptie, airconditioning, midden in het centrum, check-in makkelijk, personeel spreekt Engels , kleine winkel bij receptie.

Toen ik hier voor de 2e keer verbleef na ruim een week afwezig te zijn, viel het me op, dat er veel dezelfde personen aanwezig waren, lokale klaplopers die de hele dag rondhangen in en rond het hostel, long term residents, zo te oordelen en ‘s morgens al bij begin van het ontbijt om 5.30 hr present zijn. Dit alles vind ik een beetje unheimisch!

24 uurs receptie,locatie midden in het centrum. Basic kamers met stapelbedden, gordijntjes aanwezig, airconditioning.Ontvangst vriendelijk, goede uitleg, Engels sprekend.Taxivervoer geregeld ‘s morgens om 4 uur naar luchthaven. Creditcard geaccepteerd bij betaling accommodatie, ontbijt inbegrepen.

Slechts 2 douches op de verdieping die in gebruik waren, andere 2 waren defect en gesloten.Van de 2 die in gebruik waren had er een, een kapotte doucheslang en de andere had geen ophanging voor de douchekop.Vervelend. Ontbijt van heel vroeg tot 8.30 uur. Kaas al snel op, die eerst komt eerst maalt.Verder koffie en thee en jam en stokbrood.

Cheap and cheerful

Was just what I needed, simple room with aircon (which was so good in the heat!), PowerPoint, towels etc. The facilities are simple but clean etc. Staff were friendly and I felt safe as a solo traveller.

Honestly nothing, it's not the Hilton but that's not what I was after !

Everthing you'd expect from a backpackers hostel. Good value for Papeete & the best location in town

I've stayed here now on several occasion over the years, Its the best value place in town and better than some cheap hotels. It's everything that you'd expect from a backpackers hostel. It's in the best location in town opposite the food trucks across the road, the ferry terminal to Moorea and the bars and restaurants.

I'll be happy to stay here next time I pass through.ood value, friendly staff, very clean.

The staff offered to not only keep my luggage after early arrival, (before check in was possible); they also offered me a much appreciated shower and place to change after about 20 hours of travel. That was such a welcome surprise.

A couple of other guests were conversing too loudly in the public space overnight, in spite of "quiet hours" restrictions.

Pas plus de 2 jours .

Le personnel était très sympa et arrangeant Emplacement proche du port

-Chambre de 4 m2 sans fenêtre vers l’extérieur - pas d’insonorisation entre les chambres on entend les voisins - 1 frigo dans la cuisine pour une auberge de 35 personnes - les télécommandes de la climatisation dans la cuisine sont cachées il fait 40 degrés - les douches sont vieillotes

No hostel vibes, just a cheap place to stay between flights

Location and price

Very uncomfortable bed, bed makes lots of noise when other people move. And you can't hang out in the common area when you check out our before check-in. Breakfast is very basic, for the price is not a nice hostel.

Adequate for a short stay

The location is very convenient - close to a lot of restaurants and stores and only 10 minutes by taxi from the airport (approximately 2000 XPF). The private room has an air conditioner. The breakfast that's offered is bread with some jam, peanut butter, cheese, and coffee/tea/juice. Check in and check out was very easy and quick. They offered nice bath towels for each guest, which is not always the case for hostels. Other guests were quite considerate in keeping the noise down.

The walls are paper thin, so you truly hear everything from the other rooms, even if you wear ear plugs. The pillows were too large and firm for our liking. The shower pressure wasn't great, which would make it hard to wash your hair (especially if you have long hair). While the bread was fresh and the coffee hot, the breakfast is very minimal.

La situation géographique de l’établissement est excellente, à deux minutes à pied du marché et du front de mer. Un arrêt de bus est situé à quelques minutes à pied pour l’aéroport, départ 5h du matin, pratique donc. Un petit déjeuner simple est inclu (thé, café, jus d’orange, pain, beurre, fromage, confiture et fruits). Le personnel est très chaleureux et accueillant. Il y a une prise et une lumière à chaque lit. Il y a la climatisation dans la chambre. Enfin, il est possible de faire laver et sécher son linge le jour même pour 1500 francs (12€).

Le prix est légèrement élevé par rapport à la prestation. La serviette n’est pas incluse dans le tarif. Les douches sont vétustes. Il n’y a pas d’ascenseur, pas du tout pratique si vous avez de gros bagages avec vous. Le lit superposé bouge au moindre mouvement de la personne située au dessus ou en dessous de vous.

Top quality hostel

Excellent location right in the centre of Papeete. A simple breakfast of baguettes and fruit jams was included. They were able to accommodate a late check in for me (at about 2am) and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms had air conditioning too.

Well located and very close to the ferry. Staff as expected extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast hours are long and start early which is great. Check-in hours quite flexible

AC in room didn’t really work (even when turned down heavily) which also increases smell and humidity. The no shoes rule is intended well but from my perspective not hygienic. Toilets and showers not in best condition and ventilation / provided soaps only acceptable. Overall value I wouldn’t rate as great but given alternative choices one probably just pays a proud price in Tahiti

The hostel is relatively central. Close to the market, shops, port, park and airport. The room was lockage and so were the bathrooms. Had kitchens and cooking facilities. Staff were good when there. Helpful when asked about directions and tours. Spoke decent English. Provide a free breakfast.

I didn't like the room, there bugs and ants on the floor. The walls were thin and the common area is very close to rooms so if someone is talking on the phone you can hear this loud and clear. In general the facilities were dated and in need of repair. Could be a lot cleaner but was passable for a short stay.

Easy and convenient arrival accommodation in Papeete - chosen for a brief stay due to our flight arriving at 12:40 am. Quiet and clean private double bed room. Nice to have the option of some help-yourself breakfast. Great to have a left-luggage facility for the check-out day.

Nothing - it is a backpackers so we didn’t expect it to be high end accommodation!
