Had an amazing time in this peaceful homestay.
All the family was so nice and helpful and the food was........ AMAZING!
Thank you so very much for your kindness, I had a great time.
Just a warning, not the homestay's fault:
It's in a forest zone so beware of mosquitos, they are relentless... but the owner was kind enough to lend me some repellent after mine got emptied.

It's a wonderful homestay with a wonderful host and his family. I slept in the common place on a fouton, which was surprisingly comfortable, and the sound of the countryside around me made for a good lullaby. When I arrived there I was offered food and drink, the host sat with a group of motorbike riders and welcomed me to the table. Hospitality 10/10. Authenticity 10/10.
The common bathrooms could use a makeover 😅

Nice and quiet place. Nice staff.
The road to the hostel is under heavy construction. Very rough, dusty, lots of trucks 15km and looks like it will be awhile until completion. There is no AC in the dorm so it is very hot during the day.

This was my best stay in my time in Vietnam. Thank you so much Nem! The property is beautiful and Nem and his family are so kind and welcoming. We had a delicious family dinner with plenty of rice wine and laughs. It was one of the highlights of my whole trip to Vietnam. Experiencing the local culture the right way. Hot water. Comfortable bed. Amazing.
Nome.

Clean and spacious bathroom. Sockets near the bed. Hammocks to chill. Amazing dinner with the family.

Honestly staying here was the best spontaneous choice I made. I was greeted nicely after a long journey by Nam who speaks very good English. The dormitory is great, simple traditional homestay with a bed and mosquito net, plus phone charger and fan!
In the evening he invited me for food with his family and he catered for me being vegetarian :) we ate well, and we drank A LOT (optional) of traditional rice whiskey which was a great time.
Overall a great place made my trip to ha giang worth it.
I didn't explore the nature but it looks amazing

We liked the authenticity of the farmhouse and the location with the view across the pond. We spent one of the best nights of our holiday with the extended family with a superb meal and lots of happy water. Although nobody spoke English except the main host (who’s English is very good) we had great fun toasting each other and continuously laughing. We were sad to go the next morning
Nothing we didn’t like

I asked for some mango and it was happily provided.
Needs a small light in the sleeping area otherwise a flashlight is a necessity.

After a long and tiring day riding I arrived to Vu Linh Homestay where I was greeted by the owner with some hot tea (the weather was very cold). After I had a nice warm shower and the family prepared dinner which was amazing. The bed was comfortable and I had a memorable night with two other guests. Great place to stay, would definitely repeat!

Amazing place. The owner speaks good english, and invited us to dinner with his family - wife, kids, grandma and all. We felt as honored guests.
The place had good enough bathroom for a village house, the beds were comfortable and the bedroom was quiet.
And the boat trip that the owner organized for us was amazing. All in all highly recommend!
The bathroom could have a bit better piping, but it was workable.

Great Homestay in the middle of nature. The host speaks perfect English and we had a great dinner together with him and his familly !
The dorm is simple but comfy and authentic.
I highly recommend it for anyone looking for genuine people and nature !

The breakfast was different and delicious each day! It also helped soak up any beers or riou that the family shared with you the night before ;) The traditional house was so beautiful and all made of wood, which is becoming a rare thing these days.
The dinners were fantastic! Some of the best food I've had in Vietnam!
Nothing. Everything was wonderful! Such a lovely family!

Where to start...
We arrived at the property after riding motorcycles for a whole day only to find out that the owner had no idea we were coming until we told them and they confirmed on their phone.
2 people booked “dorm beds in a 10 person shared room” and received a queen size mattress pad on the floor to share , it took quite a bit of explaining that they were not a couple and only then did the owner swap the one pad for two smaller pads , still side by side
The other person booked “a family ROOM” with shared bathroom , instead he received the same mattress pad as the the other too with a curtain separating him from the other too , so no room whatsoever
The booking page claims there is AC amongst other amenities , there is no such thing, you get a 3 inch thick foam pad on the floor with a mosquito net enclosed by a curtain
The mattress pad is 3 inches thick and on the floor, and the only other thing you receive is lumpy duvet cover that is way too hot to sleep under.
A lot of other reviewers say the “family dinner is amazing” we instead received a plate of dry ramen noodles with 6 little squares of pork , which still took a long time even after we told the people that we were extremely hungry .
The people that run the guesthouse had bunch of locals in there (in the acomodarion where we were supposed to sleep until fairly late)
Furthermore besides the locals being loud until fairly late , there are all manners of noises all night , from locals talking outside , to dogs barking to roosters
And then to add insult to injury , the family wakes up at 6 am and starts banging pots , the kid starts running around and someone downstairs starts cleanig/sweeping making it impossible to sleep.
So only stay here if you don’t want to sleep at all , easily the most uncomfortable night I have spent in years,
