Very nice quiet and spacious location that was convenient for exploring various nature attractions

Everything inside the lodge, very spacious and clean. Great location, which is pretty quiet and isolated. Close to some great locations.

Outside of overall premises could be presented better (improved over time) seeing the shipping container and workshop area? ( not sure what it was) makes it look unappealing when entering. (this changed though when entering the lodge).

Nice convienient location when getting off a long day from sailing spirit of Tasmania

It was close to the ferry terminal for Spirit of Tasmania and lovely outlook.

The bed is well and truly due for an update for the price you pay and it being sunken in the middle trying to climb out each time. Besides a sheet for the sofa bed there was no linen but the owner did offer to get some but we were sorted with our own sheet and blanket.

Rural idyll

Facilities were good and the staff although off site very helpful

Initially we were worried about the road noise from passing trucks but it didn’t bother us in the end. Takeaway menus for establishments in Lara would be nice

An amazing getaway to the You Yangs in Lara Lodge. Can't wait till next time.

Always enjoy staying here when the You Yangs Trail Festival is on, Dean is exceptionally good for these properties as well and he still remembers me after all these years that I've been going there, even if it's only once or twice a year.

The bed wasn't the greatest in the Study we found on the first night but that could come down to the nerves of what was happening over the weekend. We ended up using the pull out sofa bed and apart from my heavy weight nearly tipping it over from a balancing perspective it was exceptionally comfortable to sleep in.

Decent and I’d stay here again as it’s super close to the You Yangs

Location and fairly modern.

Very spartan and the bed mattress was way too soft. It was a wheel chair friendly room and had to be kept very empty for access

Unhappy start to our holiday

The building wS fabulous but all finishing touches were missing. E.g 1 t.bag each, no milk, dirty couch, n curtains, n behind t.v, bathroom floor. ect ect one skinny pillow. Dirty air fryer. Owners Mum was lovely but accomodation very poor.

Dirty building,, curtains,bathroom floor,cobwebs around kitchen wares. etc. Insufficient overnight supplies. No parking signage..really hard to enter property with door lock. Owner in Japan. But owners mum came to the rescue with supplies.

We were really happy we stayed at Lara Lodge

Location - beautiful surroundings - close to Lara, shops and Geelong. Friendly staff and very helpful. Clean and comfortable. Catered for the six of us to stay together in one cabin.

We loved the deck and sitting there. But it did need a shade cloth or something as it was quite hot with no shade around

Fantastic stay and we loved the beautiful surroundings and watching the horses.

We loved the location of Lara Lodge. We felt very relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful countryside around Lara Lodge. Our beds were comfortable and the shower set up was excellent to use. Netflix on the television was very easy to use also.

The accommodation was great. Close and handy to Lara . Great location

Nothing to cook on needed an electric fire. The grill thing was no good can't cook eggs etc. Needed lamps in bedroom.

No fault of the owner due to heavy rain but flooding around cabin. We laughed about our water views.

Nice location but a bit disappointed.

Very quiet and great spot on out of busy town.

We were 4 people but the unit didn't cater for 4 people with utensils. There were a few cobwebs visible and some dirty marks on the walls. Overall, not bad but could do with some maintenance, cleaning; we expected a bit more for the price.

Lovely location and tidy little getaway

Little things were missing, there were 4 of us. But only 3 forks, 1 dessert spoon, 1 chair for the dinner table, no dishcloth.
