L’environnement est très agréable, le logement extrêmement spacieux, la piscine et le sauna à disposition sont tres appréciables.

Best place to stay close to Mariolles

Thankfully another person at reception was able to make up for my lack French to get checked in. Disappointed we were not in the old Chateau I had thougth I had booked. The rooms we had were In a old folks home, once in the rooms they were fine.
I thought I had booked 3 apartments in the Chateau in all the pictures, the rooms were actually in the old peoples home in a modern complex behind. It is also a few kms from the old town and we could not get a taxi so had to ride down to the old town to eat.

Decent accommodation if you are looking for a place in the area. They have a restaurant (will close pretty early) and an indoor pool
The apartments are shared with the residents so you might feel that there was somebody living in them for a longer period of time. They are clean but there are some things that would need a bit of refreshing (maybe cleaning the curtains or the couch etc)
Also, if you know some french it would help because english is quite missing in the area

Room was clean, very comfortable and spacious.
The breakfast was really basic and it was a bit late. There was no hairdryer

Nice and comfortable room. Bed bit small (1.40m).
The building on the photo is beautiful, but the hotel is not inside. It is next to it and not beautiful. Also, it is an elderly home where they offer the empty rooms as hotel rooms. In the hall you have the 'smells'. They are not used to act as a hotel. Breakfast until 9.00 and check out 10.30 and they did not inform us, so we were too late for the breakfast and they did not offer anything.
We had some nice chats with elderly people. If we knew in advance it would have been fine, but nowhere on the site they inform you.

Excellent facilities, really comfortable and very friendly people. Looking forward to going back. Ideally situated for trips into Belgium too.
Nothing, all good.

It was a nice and clean apartment in a good location
The service does not speak English (and there is information on the website that speaks English) complete lack of communication. I travel with purebred dogs to the exhibition, I went out in the morning for a walk with the dogs at 5 am and I couldn't enter the hotel because the door was locked I waited outside about 45 minutes getting wet in the rain until someone else opened the door when leaving the hotel. Perhaps there is some code to open the door, but no one told me about it because of the language barrier. Unfortunately, I cannot consider my stay at your hotel as successful.

Very quiet, friendly staff, very large furnitured living balcony with good view, , small equiped kitchen only with magnotron, sleepingroom, and bathroom. guests may use the facilities like gym and verysmall indoor swimming pool.
The hotel is quite far from the centre of Maubeuge, guests should consider the rules of the hotel to be silent after 19:00 to protect the rest of the elder residents in the chateu.

the chateaux was lovely - rooms well appointed clean and facilities were great
it’s sitting in an old
peoples home site- the breakfast was poor and no coffee as the staff member was busy taking breakfasts to the people in the home - would be better to have a choice of breakfast in the room - and not I. the facilities of those in the home

The hotel looks absolutely nothing like the photos !! The rooms are not at all like the photos. Staff was nice, rooms were clean but very average basic hotel style. However the hallways were filthy, looks like they have not been vacuumed in weeks. We stayed here to be close to a brocante in Maroilles. For one night in and out that was fine but not someplace I would like to be for more than one quick overnight.
The concept is very strange ? The hotel rooms are sporadically located amongst a senior assisted living center type of thing. it’s absolutely not a hotel but more like an old folks home with a few hotel rooms scattered on each floor. Everyone was very nice but the set up could not be more odd ? When we arrived we thought we were in the wrong location.

Nice building (manor). Modern room. Good shower. Good parking facilities, though not too close to the room.
Room was not as pictured and described (pictures from suites have to be changed on booking, so sofa in this room as pictured). No chance to change, though other rooms seemed to be empty. Lamp on left bed side defective. Kitchenette really small.
No room service during 3 days stay. There was food in the entry of the manor building when we arrived on Thursday and it was still there on Sunday.

spacious, comfortable bathroom
bed is too short for me (only 180cm length), very noisy when the window is open (cars in busy street, also at night), room smells smokey (tobacco)

Very nice accommodation. The accommodation is in a quite nice good locatie. If you love the nature and peace, you definitely want to visit this place.
Reception was hard to find. But everything was perfect.
Awesome accommodation for that less amount.

Large one bedroom apartment with student kitchen (kettle, toaster, coffee maker, 2 ring hob, fridge & microwave)in the dining/living room. Bed was ok, firm mattress.
Now for the strange and unexpected part. The first clue was the ambulance pulling up as I arrived. Odd, I thought. The lady at reception spoke little English and my French is rusty so only the basics were explained. I checked in, went shopping, retreated to the room and improvised a meal. I was working 30 minutes away so saw nothing in daylight for most of the week except for the odd glimpse of generally older people. It seems that I had booked into an old people's home. As a 60 something, still working, it wasn't that I minded but I must have missed that detail in the description. It's quiet for sure, comfortable but a bit odd.
Lack of utensils and cheap small saucepan and frying pan. I was planning to self cater, so would expect a few basics like a knife or two, chopping board, colander, grater - the IKEA basics perhaps.

Nice, clean, warm big room.
Calm neiberhood
Missing some kitchen tools (knifes, pan...). Aldo upon asking recived the items.
Did not had breakfast.
Breakfast with elderly people in in front of entrance. Priceles

Swimming pool private session
The room had an horrible smell of dusty cigarettes and because it was 28degres when we arrive in the room it was stuffy.
Very old and uncomfortable mattress, big slope in the middle. When I tried to return the mattress to remove the slope I found a big pee mark on the other side…
No room cleaning available even after I asked and a receptionist told me that it would be done..
You have to beg to get toilet paper and towels at the entrance..
The carpet in the hallway was filthy.
When I complain about all of this at the reception at the end of the stay, the receptionist apologise.. i dont know they will change the mattresses though. I won’t ever come back.

Fabulous apartment in good location, there was free parking on site at the rear of the building. Spacious, well designed and equipped, tastefully decorated, a comfy bed too, we loved it and would definitely recommend it and stay there again.
With just a little bit more thought, we'd have rated this a 10/10 instead of a 9. We docked a point for a couple of minor reasons that could be easily resolved. The kitchen has a hob, but no saucepans to use on it, and there is a 'pod' coffee machine, but even just a couple of pods would have been a nice touch.
Neither of these would stop us booking again though.

Booked an apartment for 4 people but at arrival it became clear it was furnished and prepared for three. One of the kids had to sleep on a mattress on the floor (which meant a sleepless night for all).

Very clean and very helpful staff. Free parking.
Have in mind before reservation that's a retirement home for old people.
