4.3
Beautiful luxurious room and amenities
Check in was not very pleasant.
It’s a little difficult navigating around due to the renovations - perhaps some clearer signage ?
4.3
Proximity to all the action, fun historic property
Reception area hidden at back of house among kegs and laundry rollers

I spent 2 totally blissful nights at Hotel Sorrento while in town for a wedding. The facilities were amazing – the adults-only pool for guests was divine, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was outstanding. The location right on the edge of the main Sorrento strip is exceptional while being slightly removed from shops and the main crowds (although the Saturday night queue to get into the Hotel Sorrento public bar was its own crowd!). The little touches – like the face mask provided with the welcome pack – were all so thoughtful and made for a special trip. The cost of the stay was a big splurge for me, but Hotel Sorrento offers exceptional service and experience, and I can completely see why it costs what it does.

Good location and beautiful outlook
Possibly the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We could hear every door close, every car pull up outside and the noisey group in the room next door. It was like sleeping in a party dorm. The website advertises a pool terrace which is still under construction. And the check out process was non existent on the morning we left. We couldn’t get into the main hotel building all the doors were locked and the out of hours reception number was a guy who runs a security company and had no idea how to help us. We ended up leaving the key with a note at one of the restaurant concierge desks- also unattended.

One of the two main-building rooms had an amazing view.
Although the heating in my room worked the heating in my friends' rooms (in the main building) did not work and as it was a particularly cold night they had to endure the cold temperature which one would not expect of a hotel of your standard. In addition we had not been informed of all the renovations in and around the hotel when we booked including the fact that no breakfast was served in the hotel. The reception was not manned until 8am which was not quite the level of the standard of your hotel. The in-room drinks and nibbles were quite expensive.

Fantastic location , room spectacular views
noise from the bar terrace directly below the window of our room . While views were magical ahead , there were not that pleasant looking down. it came of the cost at night and in the morning when cleaning staff was moving chairs and cleaning “unpleasant “ scars of drunkenness.

Hotel location excellent. Room location fantastic.
They are trying to work through renovations. I guess that weekdays might have been difficult for guests.
No breakfast available due to the above?
No lifts in the main building. My wife struggled with the stairs. They offered other rooms but they did not have the good views.

room was amazing and seriously comparable to some of best hotel I have stayed in across the world. room has beautiful sea view, expansive balcony, retreat and bedroom . bathroom has a well pressure shower head - every detail of this room - stone wall feature and decor exude luxury and home feel.

a bit of a maze to get to the room

Based on the photos on the website when I booked, I thought we were going to stay in a HOTEL. I never expected that the King rooms operated in a MOTEL style. I was never told that we were going to sleep on a construction site, 7:00am we were woken by construction vehicles reversing and construction power tools drilling sawing etc. No afternoon nap possible. At booking I was told you stay in no 26, just go down the road till you see no 26 and park there. That is a MOTEL no lift open walkways. My spouse has difficulty in walking. The handrails are possible practical for not falling down the walkway. The handrail is so massive that only a man with a large hand will be able to hold on to it properly.
I asked reception to book the restaurant for 6;30pm. We stood at the restaurant reception for 4-5minutes with restaurant staff nearly walking over as taking food to other areas in the HOTEL? We were not event acknowledge. We joked, we were possibly invisible. We move into the restaurant with staff continuing to walk around. We were eventually approached by a female staff member asking what she can do for us. Yes please we have a booking. Her reply, go back and wait at reception someone will come and assist you. After another 2-3 minutes a male approached us, what can I do for you. We have a booking spell my name and surname. Sorry we have no booking. Can't be reception organised it. Sorry, nothing here. The person turned to a female staffer take them to any table in the front.
We had 4 different wait staff no one knew what the previous person asked or what we requested of the previous staffer. At one stage the female staffer tried to pour Champane for us it was all over the show. I felt embarrassed for her, as she has possible never done this before. Thank heavens we dined the next night at the Intercontinental hotel as we were in Sorrento to celebrate my spouses 70th birthday. I know we have not booked the royal suite, but I'm very disappointed. Never again
