Very cozy cabin. Lena was very gracious and pleasant. Warm welcoming and very hospitable. Gave us fresh range free eggs for breakfast. Offered tea and biscuits upon welcoming in her home with pleasant conversation. Always willing to answer questions and help us. A true gem. Will definitely come back here.
Nothing really to say. A lovely experience.

Loved the quietness and history of the accommodation. Our host was so welcoming and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. A great touch was receiving fresh eggs for breakfast from the lovely hens.

This is a self-catering cottage, in a tranquil, sylvan setting. As city folk we appreciated the stillness, silence and solace of this internet quiet place.
Can't find a fault. Truly great to be literally away from it all.

We are just back from a wonderful three day stay. The cottage is so quaint with everything you could need. Lena was so friendly and accommodating and gave us fresh eggs in the mornings. There was a lovely area outside for the kids to play and they loved looking at the hens and sheep. Such a lovely peaceful place!

The location of our holiday cottage was so peaceful. Our days were spent exploring the surrounding countryside. Returning to relax in the comfortable peaceful cottage. Our host was on hand if we needed anything. She was very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful authentic and spacious stone cottage. Has everything you need ( inc bbq). Superb location on a quiet country lane, close to the Shannon. The river near the cottage is spectacular and a dream for fishermen. OK, so the fish aren't as big as they used to be, but what a joy to fish. Visit Palmerston stores in Portumna for great local fishing advice. The surrounding area has loads to see and do. We did biking on deserted country lanes., visited/biked the wonderful Lough Boora Park in Offaly, walked across the spectacular weir walkway in Meelick, hiked in the burren, visited Portumna castle/gardens, and did a day trip to Galway (visit to Magnetti Trattoria on Quay St is a must !). Huge shout out to Lena, who was a truly wonderful host and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Overall, this cottage is a hidden gem, in an area that has so many things to do. We will definitely be going back.
Nothing. (lack of Internet was a bonus- anyhow, you can get a signal 20metres away if you really need it)

Ideal for a peaceful break, Lena was a wonderful host, the cottage is lovely and quaint and very quiet yet only a short drive or cycle to Portumna.

The location was great. The cottage was like stepping back in time with all modern conveniences. Lena was an excellent hostess

The very kind Ms Lena accommodate us, welcoming and careful with guests, great landscape surrounding and quiet place to relax. Eggs provided in the morning, fireplace on and great vibes in nature!
host requested an extra "tip/charge" 10€ for electricity/heating.

If you want to getaway from busy city life, enjoy the countryside, enjoy the fire crackling in the fireplace, this is the perfect place. Nearby town of Portumna has an old beautiful castle, huge forest walk, open playground for kids, decent restaurants, Derg Lough. We really enjoyed there with our children. Our cottage had central heating but it's not necessary when you use fireplace (turf provided). There is no WiFi but we didn't care :). Host is very pleasant and she gave us fresh farm eggs in the morning. We were allowed to pick som pears and apples from their garden. There is everything you need to prepare your own meal, even salt, pepper, oil etc.

Love the stove fire place. Very cosy quaint place. Old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Fully kitted out kitchen so we could cook our own meals! Also had use of the washer and dryer out the back. Nice place to recharge and switch off with no phone signal.
Chickens roaming on the land, I'm terrified of them but for others shouldn't be a problem. Charged us after one night stay 10 euro for electricity which I couldn't see on the list during booking. Wasn't too bad as we did use the turf from the back shed for the stove. No phone signal or WiFi so won't suit if you need to keep in touch with outside world for work etc.
